1.1 Symbols for Warnings and Helpful Information
The meaning of the symbols used for warnings and helpful information in this manual is described below:

This symbol indicates instructions for procedures recommended by the manufacturer for an effective

Uniform spellings are used in this manual for better readability or easier assignment.

1.3 Intended Use
The Draco MV is used to display video signals of up to four sources (computer, CPU) at one console with
only one mouse and keyboard as well as with one monitor (Single-Head variant) or two monitors (Dual-
Head variant). A redundant display on a second console is possible.
NOTICE
Possible radio interference in a domestic environment
This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment, this product may cause radio interference in which
case the user may be required to take adequate measures.
Follow the safety and installation instructions given in this manual.
Use connection cables according to the specifications for the length and type given in this manual.

2 Safety instructions
To ensure reliable and safe long-term operation of your device, please note the following guidelines:
Read this user manual carefully.
Only use the device according to this user manual. Failure to follow the instructions described can
damage the device or endanger the security of your data.
Take any required ESD precautions.
Installation location
While operating the device can get warm. Damage to the device can occur in a damp environment.
Use the device only in dry, indoor environments.
Use the device only in a room with adequate ventilation.
Existing ventilation openings on the device must always be free.
Place all power outlets easily accessible and directly next to each other.
Connection
Check the device for visible damage before connecting it.
Only connect the device if the device and the ports are not damaged.
Place all power outlets easily accessible and directly next to each other.
Disconnect the device from the circuit
NOTICE
The cable plugs on the device side can contain a lock. In the event of a necessary quick disconnection
from the circuit:
all corresponding cable plugs have to be removed from the socket,
or set the power switch of the power outlets (if available) to the “Off” position.

3 Description
3.1 Access Options
You have following options to configure and operate the Draco MV:
Access option Description
OSD Firmware contained in Draco MV, no additional PC necessary:
Via OSD (On-Screen-Display) you can configure the basic settings of the
Draco MV operating system and query several states. The Draco MV includes a
command mode that allows to open the OSD and to control several functions by
keyboard commands during operation.
Draco MV-Tool The Draco MV-Tool (management software) is available as a single executable
program file (desktop and app version) that does not require a separate
installation. The management software can be downloaded from the link
https://www.ihse.de/software.
Advanced settings can be configured on the Draco MV operating system using
the management software:
•Advanced configuration
•Extended monitoring options
•System update (firmware update)
•Local backup option

3.2 System Overview
3.2.1 Single-Head Installation
A Draco MV system with Single-Head consists of a Draco MV, one or more sources (computer, CPU) and
up to four two (maximum 2 monitors, 1 keyboard, 1 mouse). The Draco MV is directly connected to the
sources and sinks via connection cables.
Output Function
Video The video signals of all sources are transmitted to the Draco MV simultaneously.
All video signals are permanently updated in the display windows.
Audio The audio signals of all sources are transmitted to the Draco MV simultaneously.
Only the audio signal of the active source is available at the outputs.
USB-HID The commands of keyboard and mouse are only available for the switched
source. The mouse is only usable in the display area of the active source.

3.2.2 Dual-Head Installation
A Draco MV system with Dual-Head consists of a Draco MV, one or more sources (computer, CPU) and up
to four sinks (maximum 4 monitors, 1 keyboard, 1 mouse). The Draco MV is directly connected to the
sources and sinks via connecting cables.
Output Function
Video The video signals of all sources are transmitted to the Draco MV simultaneously.

If connecting a second monitor to the redundant video, the video signals at the second monitor are output
depending on the selected display mode (for details, see following chapters).

3.2.4 Display Modes
Various display modes are available for displaying the video signals. The display mode can be changed via
keyboard and can be set or changed via OSD or management software.
•Video signal of only one source (Fullscreen)
•Video signal of up to four sources (Quad Split, Multiview 4:1)
•Video signal of up to four sources (PiP (Picture-in-Picture), Multiview 4:1)

If using a second monitor at the redundant video output, additional display modes are available.

On the second monitor, the area for the active source is always arranged in the top left quadrant. By
default, this quadrant is displayed in black.

3.2.5 Display Order of Sources
Display Order in Display Mode Quad Split
In display mode Quad Split, the order of the displayed sources remains constant after switching to another
source. E.g. when switching from source 1 to source 3, area 3 is activated (shown here in blue) and the
mouse can be used within this screen.

Display Order in Display Mode PiP (Picture-in-Picture)
In display mode PiP,the order of the displayed sources is changed after switching to another source. E.g.,
when switching from source 1 to source 3, source 3 is displayed in the left area of the monitor (shown here
in blue) and the mouse can be used within this area. On the right side of the monitor, the sources are
displayed in numerically ascending order.

Display Order in Display Mode Preview
In display mode Preview, monitor 1 always displays the active source.
On monitor 2, the order changes when switching. E.g., when switching from source 1 to source 3, the area
for the active source always remains at the top left quadrant (shown here in black). The other sources are
displayed numerically in the following order: top right - bottom left - bottom right.

In display mode 2+2, the order of the displayed sources remains constant after switching to another source.
E.g. when switching from source 1 to source 3, area 3 is activated (shown here in blue) and the mouse can
be used within this screen.

3.2.6 Display Options
For video signals that are not displayed in full-screen mode, a frame can optionally be shown around the
active video signal. In addition, names for the sources can be entered and displayed (see chapter 6.4.6,
page 79).
In the
Fullscreen display mode and on monitor 1 in the Preview display mode, no frame and no source
name are shown to
offer optimal use the area.
