Remove Bottom Cover
Do not remove or replace the bottom cover with the power on. Always turn
off the power and unplug the power cord from the system before removing
or replacing the bottom cover. Otherwise, the system could be damaged.
To remove the bottom cover of the laptop, start by removing the 9 T5 Torx
screws.
The bottom cover is held in place by 9 tabs that must be disengaged before
removing the bottom cover. Tab locations and order to be disengaged are
shown below. Removing the bottom cover without fully disengaging the 9
tabs may damage the bottom cover.
The Intel NUC 8 Compute Element (CM8PCB, CM8CCB, CM8i3CB, CM8i5CB,
CM8i7CB, CM8v5CB, CM8v7CB) is not supported with this laptop.

Starting with the tab labeled 1 in the diagram begin disengaging the tabs from
the chassis. Continue to disengage the tabs in a clockwise order until only the
two tabs on either side of the Ethernet port remain. The remaining two tabs are
more easily disengaged by fully extending the Ethernet port.
After all of the tabs have been disengaged lift the bottom cover completely.

The Intel NUC 8 Compute Element (CM8PCB, CM8CCB, CM8i3CB, CM8i5CB,
CM8i7CB, CM8v5CB, CM8v7CB) is not supported with this laptop.

The Intel NUC 8 Compute Element (CM8PCB, CM8CCB, CM8i3CB, CM8i5CB,
CM8i7CB, CM8v5CB, CM8v7CB) is not supported with this laptop.

Install Storage
First, remove the screw from the
threaded standoff.
NOTE: M.2 Slot will only support NVMe SSDs.
Insert the M.2 card into the connector
at an angle as shown. Take caution
to properly align the notch on
the M.2 card with the key in
the connector to reduce
risk of damage.
Push the M.2 card down and re-install
screw into standoff to secure.
Do not add or remove storage with the power on. Always turn off the
power and unplug the power cord from the system before adding or
removing storage. Otherwise, the system could be damaged.

Install Back Cover
Do not remove or replace the bottom cover with the power on. Always turn off
the power and unplug the power cord from the system before removing or
replacing the bottom cover. Otherwise, the system could be damaged.
The bottom cover is held in place by 9 tabs that must be engaged to install the
bottom cover. Tab locations and order to be engaged are shown below.
Installing the bottom cover without fully engaging the 9 tabs may damage the
bottom cover.
To install the bottom cover of the laptop, slide the cover into place at the front
and engage tabs 1 and 2. Lower the cover and engage the remaining
tabs on the edges and rear of the laptop, starting with the tabs closest to the
front of the laptop and moving backwards.
