Although your Z-500 is neither complicated nor difficult to operate, we recommend you take a few minutes to
read this brief manual and familiarize yourself with the important information regarding product features, setup
and operation.
As with most electronic devices, we strongly recommend you retain the original packaging. In the unlikely event
the product must be returned for servicing, the original packaging (or reasonable equivalent) is required.

Never place this product in an environment which could alter its performance or reduce its service life. Such
environments usually include high levels of heat, dust, moisture, and vibration.

1. PAGING BROADCASTING OUTPUT DISPLAY LAMP
Determine using dip switch on the rear side whether PAGING broadcasting is output.
Display lamp turns on at the zone where switch is set to ON.
2. ZONE BROADCASTING STATUS INDICATOR
Display broadcasting status of each zone.
If all Zone’s status connected with system is ‘-’, display [OFF] on the display window of C-500.
3. EM MIC BROADCASTING OUTPUT DISPLAY LAMP
This lamp turns on if pressing the EM MIC Broadcasting Selection button of the zone to execute EM
broadcasting.
4. TIMER ALARM BROADCASTING OUTPUT DISPLAY LAMP
Determine using dip switch on the rear side whether TIMER (PW-9242, PW-642) broadcasting is output.
Display lamp turns on at the zone where switch is set to ON.
5. BUS SELECT AND BUS GROUP SELECT BUTTON
One of total 6 BUS sound sources can be selected.
BUS is selected to the order of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3.....6 whenever pressing the button. If the last of the left
BUS GROUP BUTTON among 7 channel is pushed long time, right 6 channels change together similarly.
(EXAMPLE : If NO.3 is appointed, right 6 channels are changed into NO.3.)
One more pressing the last of the left button for a long time, then 7 channels are changed into next BUS
altogether.

6. EM BROADCASTING SELECT AND EM GROUP BROADCASTING SELECT BUTTON
Select the output zone to execute EM (EMERGENCY) broadcasting. If the zone is selected, the display lamp
turns on to display whether EM broadcasting of the relevant output is done.
EM Group button is a button to select EM broadcasting zone by unit of 7-zone. If pressing the last of the left
button, 7 display lamps turn on.
7. ZONE BUS VOLUME CONTROLLER
Volume to control bus sound volume of the relevant output.
8. L-500 CONTROL RIGHT BUTTON AND INDICATOR
Authority to select BUS of the Local (wall mount) controller connected to each zone and authority to control
BUS sound volume is endowed.

1. POWER SWITCH
Power switch to supply power of this unit.
2. ZONE 1, 8, 15 INDIVIDUAL OUTPUT TERMINAL
Pre-AMP output terminal of 1,8,15 Zone can be broadcasted by using separate power AMP.
3. Z-500 AUDIO OUTPUT TERMINAL
This is an output terminal equivalent to each output zone and is connected to A-500.

5. DC 24V POWER INPUT TERMINAL
A terminal to input DC power
6. RM1~RM4 INPUT TERMINAL AND INPUT VOLUME CONTROLLER
A terminal to connect RM-500 and a volume to control input sound volume.
“R” is displayed on the front display window during RM broadcasting.
7. VIDEO MATRIX SYSTEM(V-500) COMMUNICATION TERMINAL
A terminal to transmit zone information of each output channel to V-500
8. SPEAKER LINE CHECK COMMUNICATION TERMINAL
A terminal to receive defect information of the speaker connection status from SC-624.
Received information is transferred to C-500 to give line failure information.
RS-232C PIN SPECIFICATION
Display [FLT] on display window of C-500 in case of line default. No display on the order of priority
broadcasting.
9. FIRE SENSOR COMMUNICATION TERMINAL
A terminal to receive channel information to execute fire broadcasting from F-500.
When fire generates, automatic fire broadcasting is transmitted and ‘F’ is displayed on the relevant display
window.
PIN NUMBER is the same as NO.8.
10. DATA LINK TERMINAL
IN: A terminal to communicate with C-500 equipment and connect with Z-500 DATA LINK OUT Terminal
when Z-500 expand.
OUT: A terminal for control signal communication when linking Z-500 for expanding the output area with
communication terminal for Z-500 link.
Expanding output zone can be connected up to total 10 sets (210 ZONE)
11. TIME ALARM OUTPUT SELECT SWITCH
A switch to select a channel to output time alarm broadcasting (PW-9242, PV-632 etc).
The display lamp turns on to inform whether the time alarm broadcasting output is done in the front side of
the zone where switch is set to ‘ON’. Broadcasting is done only to the output channel where the switch is set
to ‘ON’ during time alarm broadcasting.

12. AUDIO LINK IN (C-500 SOUND SOURCE OUTPUT CONNECTING TERMINAL)
A terminal for connecting sound source output audio of C-500.
13. PAGING BROADCASTING OUTPUT SELECT SWITCH
A switch to select a channel to paging broadcasting (TP-9231, TP-631 etc)
The display lamp turns on to inform whether the paging broadcasting output is done in the front side of the
zone where switch is set to ‘ON’. Broadcasting is done only to the output channel where the switch is set to
‘ON’ during time alarm broadcasting. ‘P’ is displayed on the front display window.
14. AUDIO LINK OUT (SOUND SOURCE CONNECTING TERMINAL FOR Z-500 LINK)
Audio connection terminal using when linking Z-500 for expanding the output zone.
Expanding the output zone can be connected up to total 10 sets (210 ZONE).

Operating Method
1. A BASIC BROADCASTING SETTING UP
1) Select a desired BUS among BUS of 6 channels to broadcast by pressing BUS select switch of each
zone. Bus is sequentially selected to the order of 1,2,3,4,5,6,-,1,2,3,4,5,6,-
2) Institute sound volume of desired lever by controlling a relevant output volume of each zone.
3) In case of controlling BUS and VOLUME of each zone by using local controller L-500, setting in local
area by pressing the WALL Button of relevant zone.
4) In case of broadcasting timer Alarm or paging, timer Alarm or paging broadcasting can be done
to desired zone by controlling output selection switch of timer Alarm/paging broadcasting on the
rear side.
2. CONNECTING L-500
1) Connect with L-500 connection terminal on the rear side of Z-500 using Category5(UTP) material.
2) Connection hole number of the connected Z-500 represents output zone and assure connection up to
Maximum 300m.
3) Connection of total 21 sets of L-500 is permitted to a piece of Z-500.
4) Without need of setting separate ID, automatic recognition is done together with Z-500 and immediate
use is permitted.
5) Selected BGM number is displayed in the relevant zone after 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, A, B, C, D, E, F is
orderly displayed on the BGM display window of L-500 if power is supplied.
6) BUS selection and BUS output sound volume of Z-500 can be controlled by using L-500 if dot (.) is
displayed on the BUS display window of L-500.
7) Control power of L-500 is endowed or released by using the Wall ENABLE button on the front side of
Z-500. If Wall ENABLE is endowed to L-500, the Enable button of Z-500 turns on, and dot (.) is
displayed on the BGM display window of L-500.
8) If ‘E’ flicker continually on the display window, check connection status and unit.
Since sound volume is set to minimum in initial use, turn volume of encoder clockwise until change of
sound volume is confirmed.
3. CHANGE OF BUS AND CONTROL OF OUTPUT ZONE SOUND USING L-500
1) Endow control power of L-500 by pressing the Wall Enable button of Z-500.
2) Check that BUS number is changed by operating the BUS Select Button of L-500.
3) Same BUS number is displayed on the front BUS display window of Z_500 and the display window
of L-500.
4) Control a sound volume of output zone by using a sound volume control encoder.
The volume control encoder of L-500 and volume on the front side of Z-500 unit are used to control
sound volume of the BUS broadcasting in the output zone. Paging MIC broadcasting and the output
zone sound volume of RM-500 are not controlled with encoder and volume.
4. SELF-LOCAL BGM AND MIC BROADCASTING USING L-500
Zone self-broadcasting is permitted with L-500. You can perform desired MIC broadcasting in respective
zone or listen to BGM music as well as main BGM connected to Z-500.
LOCAL BGM&MIC broadcasting of L-500 has higher priority than main BGM of Z-500 and thus main
BGM automatically becomes mute during self-broadcasting of L-500.
1) Connect desired MIC or sound source unit to MIC or line input.
2) Control sound volume by using each input sound volume control volumes.
3) Immediate broadcasting is possible and the zone output sound volume can be controlled by using
encoder of L-500 or a volume of Z-500.

4) Main BGM on the BUS display window becomes mute during self-broadcasting of L-500. If no local
broadcasting, Mute is released and main BGM is broadcast.
A condenser MIC cannot be used during L-500 LOCAL MIC broadcasting.
A Display status of the BUS display window of L-500 is as follow:

During RM-500 broadcasting R
5. CONNECTING RM-500
1) Connect with RM-500 connection hole on the rear side of Z-500 unit by using CAT5(UTP) material.
Same connection method of L-500
2) Immediate broadcasting is permitted without separate ID setting.
3) Total 4 sets of RM-500 can be connected.
4) If power is supplied, buttons sequentially turns on or off at the same time as power LED turns on.
5) Check connection status and unit since flickering of buttons means defective unit or connection status.
6. RM-500 MIC BROADCASTING
1) Connect MIC to a MIC input jack. Both dynamic MIC and condenser MIC are available.
2) Set chime mode switch on the rear side of RM-500.
A. Switch 1 ON: Upper 2 tone chime is transmitted when pressing TALK button for starting
broadcasting.
B. Switch 2 ON: Upper 4 tone chime is transmitted when pressing TALK button for starting
broadcasting.
C. Switch 3 ON: Lower 4 tone chime is transmitted when pressing TALK button for ending
broadcasting.
D. Switch 1, 2 ON: Same as function as Switch 1 ON.
3) Pressing the relevant button of the zone to broadcast enables to turn on the button. If pressing ‘All’
button, all zones of Z-500 where the relevant RM-500 is connected to are selected.
4) MIC broadcasting is performed with the ‘TALK’ button pressed. In this case, broadcasting is performed
after checking start of chime broadcasting by using a built-in monitor speaker.
5) Control MIC input volume of RM-500 and input volume of Z-500 while checking a level meter or
listening to broadcasting volume.
6) ‘R’ is displayed on the BUS display window of Z-500 and the BUS display window of L-500, which is
relevant to broadcasting zone.
7) Release MIC broadcasting status by pressing the talk button to end broadcasting.
8) Check ending of chime broadcasting by using a built-in monitor speaker.
7. BROADCASTING OF RM-500 PRIORITY
1) Broadcasting to any RM-500 is permitted for the non-broadcasting zone.
2) The broadcasting zone has priority to the order of RM1 > RM2 > RM3 > RM4.
3) If the relevant zone button turns off when pressing ‘TALK’ button after pressing the broadcasting zone
button, it means that other RM is already broadcast in the same zone and it is noted which RM-500 is
broadcast with the turned ‘IN USE LED’.
4) If other IN USE turns on after the zone button selected during broadcasting turns off, other RM-500 with
high priority is broadcast in the same zone.
8. OPERATION IN RM-500 LINK MODE
In case of using the unit through link with Z-500, MIC broadcasting of RM-500 is impossible to the output
zone of other Z-500, Broadcasting is permitted only to the output zone of the Z-500 where RM-500 is
connected.
