Model 660-H Hanging, surface mounted Installation
with Power Cord attached.
You have 2 installation options:
A)
Standalone vacuum, no pipes installed, use with blocked flanged fitting #K-383 and top plate #K-357, see page 7.
B)
Installation with existing or new pipe connection, use black flanged fitting #K-382, top plate with pipe hole
#K-355 and special reducer #K-384.
1.
To remove door from vacuum, place your hand on the curved bracket at the top of the door and pull towards you.
To reinstall the door, open the valve cover, align the hole with the hole in the dust bag, then push door straight in.
2.
Position and install the mounting steel bracket for the vacuum at a comfortable height on the wall and close to a
120-volt receptacle, so that the power cord may be plugged directly into the outlet.
DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD TO CONNECT THE APPLIANCE TO THE OUTLET.
Option A) installation:
3.
Take the top plate K-357 and add to the top of vacuum, install the 2-side panel which hold the top plate in place.
Tighten the 4 screws inside the vacuum chamber.
4.
Install the blocked flanged fitting K-383 inside the vacuum chamber against the hole in the top.
The pipe end will support the dust bags second opening. Secure with the four screws supplied
Take the fitting and with the O-ring side of the fitting first, insert into the hole inside the top of the vacuum chamber.
5.
Hang the vacuum on to the steel mounting bracket. Be sure to keep the yellow low-voltage wires in the groove on the
back of the vacuum cleaner. They are used only with remote installed vacuum valves (option B).
Option B) installation:
6.
Generously apply a lubricant, such as Vaseline, to the O-ring on the flanged fitting K-382.
Take the fitting and with the O-ring side first, insert into the hole inside the top of the vacuum chamber.
Secure with the four screws supplied. (See page 7).
7.
Take the top plate K-355 with the 2” hole and the K-384 special reducer. Slide the K-384 from the bottom side of the
top plate into the 2” diameter hole.
8.
Now add this assembly to the top of the vacuum. pull the low voltage wires through the small hole in the top plate.
Please note that the K-384 reducer seals itself to the O-ring of the K-382 flanged fitting on top of the vacuum.
The small hole with the low voltage wires should be at the back of the vacuum.
9.
Installing the 2 side panels which also hold the top plate K-355 in place:
You will notice 3 hooks on the upper back side of the vacuum and 1 on the bottom, on each side.
The panels attach to the hooks and fold forward.
Tighten the 4 screws in the vacuum chamber, double check that the 4 hooks are connected to panels.
10.
Hang the vacuum over the mounted steel bracket.
Be sure to keep the yellow low-voltage wires in the groove on the back of the vacuum cleaner.
11.
Bring the connecting pipe from the ceiling or the wall in line with the reducer K-384.
You need 3/4” space between the ceiling pipe and the coupling to later lift the vacuum off the metal hanger.
There should be enough play in the pipe system to raise the pipe when removing the vacuum off the wall.
If not use 2 elbows, 1 for the ceiling pipe and 1 for the K-384 reducer for sideways connection.
12.
Install the dust bag and motor filter. Reattach the door cover.
13.
Plug the cord into the outlet.
14.
Only with the utility valve cover open, test the vacuum using the on/off switch.

4
MODEL 660-FC,
Flush mounted, power Cord
For New Construction, In-Wall with Power Cord Attached
Note: Two studs must be on 16” centers or 14-1/2” (36.8 cm) between studs.
If the studs are further apart, have the carpenter install another stud or attach only one flange to a stud and
let the other side float, the vacuum will clamp it to the drywall.
The power receptacle should be in reach of the vacuums electrical cord, 5 feet long.
Installing the Frame in a 2 x 4 wall without drywall installed:
1. Use the large mounting frame and slide it between the two studs. Adjust the height position so that the customer
can access the vacuum comfortable. The horizontal hole in the frame should be the lower part when installed.
2. Use the supplied eight fasteners to attach the frame in place.
3. Glue the pipe reducer K-384 to your pipe coming from the ceiling.
4. Guide the pipe and reducer into the cage on top of the frame. Turn the reducer so that it cannot be pulled up.
5. Pull the low voltage wires from the pipe’s installation into the center of the frame. Curl them up or tape them to a
stud to prevent the dry-wall installer from cutting the wires when he removes the dry-wall from the center of the frame.
After drywall is installed, cut out the center of the frame:
6. To remove the door from vacuum, place your hand on the curved bracket at the top of the door and pull toward you.
You will see four screw heads in the corners with clamp-blocks outside the housing, behind the screws.
7. Find the low voltage wires inside the wall. Connect them to the yellow wires in the back of the vacuum. Be sure to
keep the yellow low-voltage wires in the groove on the back of the vacuum cleaner. Clamp the wires into the two
small wire holders on the top back side, to the right. This prevents the wires from falling behind the vacuum. There
will only be 1/16th inch (1.5 mm) of space between the back drywall (2X4) and the back of the vacuum.
8. Hold the vacuum parallel to the frame opening and slide into the opening
9. Tighten the four screws. They will clamp around the back side of the frame.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. DO NOT USE A POWER TOOL
10. Generously apply a lubricant, such as Vaseline, to the O-ring on the flanged fitting, #K-382
Take the fitting with the O-ring side up, insert into the hole inside the top of the vacuum chamber towards the pipe.
NOTE: You may have to jiggle the fitting a little to center the pipe/reducer in the wall.
11. Attach the fitting with the four #8x1/2 screws.
12. Install the dust bag and motor filter. Reattach the door, by opening the utility valve cover, looking straight through
the hole and aligning with the hole in the dust bag, then push door in place.
13. Plug the cord into the outlet. Only with the utility valve cover open, test the vacuum using the on/off switch on
the lower right side. Please note that all the vacuum valves in the home are closed.
MODEL 660-FR, Flush mounted, Romex cable
New Construction Installation. In-Wall with 14-gauge Romex Cable or use local wiring specification.
An electrician must install a junction box with Romex power cable from the dedicated circuit breaker about 4”
below the frame and against a stud.
Use the basic installation instruction from model FC660 (above, #1 through #7)
TURN OFF THE POWER SUPPLY AT THE DEDICATED CIRCUIT BREAKER.
14. The 14 gage Romex cable extends about 18” (45 cm) from the bottom of the vacuum.
15. Carefully slide the vacuum, with the bottom part and cable first into the frame opening,
pushing the cable downwards into the junction box hole.
Now pull the bottom of the vacuum out until the cable touches the installation frame inside.
Tilt the top part towards the frame and slide in parallel. NOTE: the clamps on the right side must be lifted upwards.
16. Tighten the four screws in the vacuum chamber. They will clamp around the back side of the frame.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. DO NOT USE A POWER TOOL
17. Generously apply a lubricant, such as Vaseline, to the O-ring on the fitting K-382. Take the fitting and
with the O-ring side first and insert into the hole inside the top of the vacuum chamber towards the pipe System.
Attach the fitting with the four #8x1/2 screws.
NOTE: You may have to jiggle the fitting a little to center the reducer/pipe in the wall.
18. Install the dust bag and motor filter. Reattach the door.
An electrician should connect the Romex wires in the junction box.
19. Only with the utility cover open, test the vacuum using the on/off switch on the lower right side.
Please NOTE that all the vacuum valves in the home are closed.
