Surround Installation
Scan Accessories
NOTE: Stainless steel and glass components
retain fingerprints very well. Use the cotton
gloves supplied to help minimize smudg-
ing during installation.
Installation
1. Inspect the contents of the contents of
this kit and notify your dealer of any
damage or missing parts. Do not install
a damaged Surround assembly.
2. Confirm height adjustment of the
fireplace insert. Use the Riser Brackets on
the insert to adjust the insert height as
required for the surround you are
installing. Note that clearance to a
combustible mantel is dependant upon
the height of the Surround. See fig. 2
and the tables below for specifications.
The Mantel Heat Shield must be in-
stalled unless non-combustible materi-
als are used.
3. Remove the Air Deflector by loosening
the two hex nuts with the 7 mm wrench
or socket driver. Set aside for re-installa-
tion later. See fig. 2.

4. Using the eight hex nuts supplied, attach the upper and
lower glass panel brackets as shown in fig. 3.
5. Install the Mantel Heat Shield by engaging the hem of
the shield with the upper flange of the surround
assembly.
6. Attach the Surround assembly to the insert cabinet by
engaging the hanger brackets on the back of the
surround with the inboard tabs (#1 and #2) on the front
edge of the insert. See fig. 4 and 5.
7. Replace the Air Deflector within the Surround assembly
and re-tighten the hex nuts. This part is critical to theThis part is critical to the

8. Place shipping carton foam or cardboard in front of the
fireplace as a protective surface for the glass. Orient the
glass panel so that the slide stops are at the bottom and
facing back. An assistant may be helpful to keep the
glass steady.
Engage the glass panel with the upper and lower
brackets and carefully slide it across to the opposite side.
The glass should slide easily. DO NOT FORCE. If the glass
will not slide, check that the supports are all 90° to the
surround face. Push the stop tab up to clear each support
bracket. See fig. 6.
Maintenance
Glass: When the glass is cool, use glass cleaner and a soft
cloth to remove fingerprints and smudges from the glass
panel. The blackened rear surface of the glass is particularly
sensitive to fingerprinting that will very readily show
through to the front. Glass cleaner will remove these prints.
Surround Panels: When the material is cool, use a good
quality stainless steel polish to keep those components
looking new. Powder coated panels may be cleaned using
any non-abrasive kitchen appliance cleaner.
