Pre-assembly preparation
Please ensure instructions are read in full before attempting to assemble this product
Necessary Tools
Please check the pack contents before attempting to assemble this product. A full checklist of components
is given in this leaflet. If any components are missing, please contact John Lewis Customer Services or
your local branch.
This product is HEAVY, it should be assembled as near as possible to the point of use. TAKE CARE
WHEN LIFTING to avoid personal injury or damage to the product.
This product takes approximately 60 MINUTES to assemble with 2 PEOPLE
The fittings pack contains SMALL ITEMS which should be KEPT AWAY FROM YOUNG
CHILDREN.

Step by step assembly instructions
Step One
Step Two
With the aid of an assistant attach the Shelf Panel (E) to the Side Panels (B) as shown below
using 6x Cam heads (O).
On a soft, clean and level surface insert 6x cam bolts (N) into the Side Panels (B).

With the aid of an assistant attach the Base panel (C) by inserting the wood screws (P) into the
pilot holes provided.
With the aid of an assistant attach the Top Panel (A) by inserting the wood screws (P) into the
pilot holes provided.

Fit the back panel onto the reverse of the wardrobe by inserting the wood screws (Q) into the pilot
holes provided.
Attach the Legs (I) to the Base panel (C) using the bolts (K) provided. Ensure that the flat washers
(M) rest against the timber leg trapping the spring washer (L) inbetween the flat washers (E) and
the head of the bolt. Tighten all fixings fully.

With the aid of an assistant carefully lift the wardrobe onto its feet. Install the Hanging Rails (G).
Attach hinges (U) by inserting the screws (V) into the pilot holes provided.

Insert the Metal Hanging Rails (J) into the back of the doors (D).
With the aid of an assistant carefully present the doors (D) onto the frame and attach hinges (U) to
the side panel. Once the wardrobe is placed into its final position the doors can be aligned by
following the instructions in the diagrams below.

Step Ten
The Assembly of your new wardorbe is now
complete, Please ensure that all fittings and fixings
are routinely inspected. Ensure to periodically
tighten all fixings.
Your wardrobe is supplied with wall fixing straps which John Lewis would recommend is used to
secure the product to the wall. Attach one end of the wall fixing strap to the top of the unit with
the screw provided and the other end should be attached to the wall by a competent person using a
fixing suitable for your wall. If preferred the mirror can be attached to the skirting board using the
fabric straps provided.
Warning! Its very important to be mindful about the environment in which your furniture is being
placed. It isn't only small children that could be tempted to climb furniture, pets could also use
furniture as a ladder to retrieve objects out of their reach. Furniture tip over can cause serious and
even a fatal injury to occur. Elderly people may also use furniture to pull themselves up from low
seating or as a brace from a fall, the risks are different depending on your individual home
environment.

Care and Maintenance
The John Lewis No 049 bedroom collection is crafted from solid Oak and Oak veneers and then finished
with a light lime wash and lacquer.
The woods and veneers used in this furniture have been specially selected for their natural beauty and
characteristic appearance. Wood is a unique material and as such no two sections are identical. The depth
and shade of colours and grain pattern will vary from item to item. All timber surfaces when subjected to
direct or indirect sunlight will mellow and change colour over a period of time. New furniture may vary
in shade from items previously purchased.
This piece of furniture will endure most temperatures in the modern home. However, it should be
positioned as far away from radiators, or other direct heat sources as possible.
Wipe with a damp cloth to clean. We do not recommend the use of furniture polish, waxes or creams as
these could leave a residue on the surface of the wood and may permanently change its appearance.
Safety Instructions
Warning!
Never drag furniture when moving it, always lift it. Periodically check all fixings to ensure none have
come loose and re-tighten where necessary. Please take care when handling or moving the furniture as
careless handling may cause damage or injury.
Furniture can be dangerous if incorrectly installed. Assembly should be carried out by a competent
person. No liability will be accepted for damage or injury caused by incorrectly installed or assembled
furniture.
It is recommended that before moving heavy objects to a new location they are completely disassembled
to avoid personal injury or damage to the furniture. Please be careful to retain all fittings when doing this.
