Winding up the watch
With the winder in position A, you can wind up the auto atic ove-
ent anually. At least 2 to 3 rotations of the winder are needed to
start the ove ent. It is better to wind it up co pletely. It is fully
wound up after c. 60 rotations of the winder, as then the axi u
accuracy and its power reserve (even after the watch is put down) will
last for the axi u period. After you have set your watch, you
should wear it, so that the auto atic winding syste (via rotor ove-
ent) keeps it constantly operational.

Setting the time
Pull the winder into position B. That stops the watch ove ent.
To set your watch accurately to the second, it is best to stop the
ove ent as the second hand is passing the figure 60. You can now
position the inute hand precisely in line with the relevant inute
arker and set the desired ti e. Press the winder back into position A
to start the second hand.

Initiating time measu ement
Begin the chronoscope function by pressing the start-stop pusher (7).
Stopping time measu ement:
Stop the chronoscope function by pressing the start-stop pusher (7)
again.
Resetting:
Press the reset pusher (9). This resets both stopwatch hands to their
zero position.
Addition time measu ement:
Press the start-stop pusher (7) again after the respective easure ent
to add the stop ti es. The chronoscope hands will then reco ence
fro the stopped position.

Tachymete scale
The tachy eter scale indicates the average speed travelled over a
defined distance. The scale is based on a distance of one kilo etre.
At the beginning of the distance start the ti ing procedure by pressing
the start-stop pusher (7). After one kilo etre stop the ti ing procedure
by pressing the start-stop pusher again (7). The second hand displays
the average speed travelled on the scale.
For exa ple: You are travelling as a PASSENGER in a car on the otor-
way. The reflector posts are at intervals of 50 . You start the ti ing
procedure at the first reflector post and end the procedure at the 21st.
You have therefore covered a distance of one kilo etre. The second
hand now shows you the average speed.
If you require 30 seconds for one kilo etre, your average speed is
120 k /h.
Telemete scale
The tele eter scale is used to esti ate the distance in kilo etres
between a visible light, e.g. a flash of lightning, and hearing the acco -
panying noise.
Begin the ti ing procedure by operating the start-stop pusher (7) on
seeing the light, such as a flash of lightning. As soon as the sound of
thunder is audible, press the start-stop pusher again (7). You can now
read the distance of the stor in k on the tele eter scale.
An exa ple: If the stop second hand on the tele eter scale stops at
the "2", then the stor is 2 k away. (2000 : 334 /s = 5.99 seconds
= tele eter scale "2").
As light travels at the speed of light,
the ti e that the flash of lightning
requires to reach your location is ne -
gligible.
This is not the case with thunder, how-
ever, as this travels at the speed of
sound, i.e. at approxi ately 334 /s
(at an air te perature of approxi ate-
ly 5°).
