INTRODUCTION
• Thank you for buying our product.
• Please read through these operating instructions, so you will know how to operate your
equipment properly. After you finished reading the instructions manual, put it away in a safe
place for future reference.
SAFETY
General
• Do not drop the device and do not expose it to liquid, moisture or humidity. These might lead
to damage to the device.
• If the device is moved from a cold environment into a warmer one, do let it adapt to the new
temperature before operate the device. Otherwise, it might lead to condensation and cause
malfunctions in the device.
• Do not use the device in the dust environment as dust can damage the interior electronic
components and lead to malfunctions in the device.
• Protect the device from strong vibrations and place it on stable surfaces.
• Do not attempt to disassembly the device.
• If the device is not using for a long period of time, disconnect it from the power supply by
unplugging the power plug. This is to avoid the risk of fire.
• The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such
as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
• No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
• To maintain the compliance with the WiFi RF exposure requirement, place the product at
least 20 cm from nearby persons except when operating the controls.
Power adapter
• Only use the power adaptor delivered with the device.
• The socket outlet should be installed near the device and should be easily accessible.
• Never touch the power plug with wet hands and never pull on the power cable when pulling
the plug out of the power socket.
• Make sure the electrical voltage specified on the device and its power plug is corresponding
to the voltage of the power socket. Incorrect voltage will destroy the device.
Risks associated with high volumes
Connect headphones with volume set low and increase it if required. Prolonged
listening through some headphones at high volume settings can result in hearing
damage. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high
volume levels for long periods.
Battery handling and usage
• Only adults should handle battery. Do not allow a child to use this apparatus unless the
battery cover is securely attached.
• Remove batteries if exhausted or if they will not be used again for a long period. The
incorrect use of batteries can cause electrolyte leakage and will corrode the compartment or
cause the batteries to burst, therefore:
- Do not mix battery types, e.g. alkaline with zinc carbonate.
- When inserting new batteries, replace all batteries at the same time.
• Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly.

GETTING STARTED
POWER SOURCE
Mains Power
• Connecting the unit to any other power source may cause damage the unit. Unwind the
mains adapter cable to its full length. Connect the end of the cable to the DC IN socket at
the rear of the unit and then connect the mains adapter to the mains socket. Make sure the
mains adapter is firmly inserted into the mains socket. The unit is now ready to use.
• To switch the unit off completely, unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket.
Battery Power
Insert 4 x 1,5V AA batteries (not included) correctly by following the polarity (+ or –) indications
in the battery compartment.
NOTE: When the batteries become weak, the display will show <Battery Low>. The batteries should be
replaced. When the batteries are completely exhausted, the power is turned off.
BASIC OPERATION
Powering ON/OFF
After connecting the mains adapter to the unit and the mains socket, the unit will enter Standby
mode.
• Press the STANDBY button to switch on the unit.
• Press the STANDBY button again to switch the unit back to Standby mode.
• Disconnect the power cable of the mains adapter from the mains socket if you want to
switch the unit off completely.
Display Backlight (Mains Power only)
There are four backlight levels (High, Medium, Low, O󰀨) to choose from. To set the backlight
level, repeatedly press the DIMMER/SNOOZE button and the brightness of the display will
change.
Volume
Rotate the VOLUME knob to adjust the volume.
Mode selection
Press MODE button button to select the desired source.
NOTE: DAB+ and FM stations will only be available separately when BestTuneTM is set to Off.
PRESETS
You can store up to 30 of your favorite DAB or FM stations to the memory. This will enable you
to access your favorite stations quickly and easily. To store a preset, you must rst be listening
to the station that you would like to save.
Storing to Presets 1-7
• Press and hold the PRESET 1-7 buttons.
• The words <Preset # saved> will show on the display.
Storing to Presets 1-30
• Press and hold the PRESET 8+ button, and then press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the
preset station number to save. Press the SELECT button to confirm selection.
• The words <Preset # saved> will show on the display.
Recalling Presets 1-7
Press the PRESET 1-7 buttons.

Recalling Presets 1-30
Press the PRESET 8+ button, and then press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the desired preset
station number. Press the SELECT button to conrm selection.
NOTE: If you choose a preset station number that has not been allocated a station, the display will show
<Preset Empty>.
BestTuneTM
Congratulation, your new radio contains BestTuneTM. The feature presents DAB+ and FM radio
stations in a single list. The selected station will automatically be played on DAB+ or FM, based
on which has the best reception. You will see a single list of radio stations after the initial scan
and will no longer have to choose between FM and DAB+ modes.
Turning On/Off the BestTuneTM
• Press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter into menu.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select <System Settings>, and then press the
SELECT button to confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select <BestTune>, and then press the SELECT
button to confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <On> for turning on BestTuneTM mode, or select <Off> for
turning off, and then press the SELECT button to confirm selection.
Automatically Setting the Clock
The clock will be updated automatically if you can receive DAB/FM signal in your location.
In order to synchronize to the current local time, you must leave the unit to receive signals from
the DAB/FM station for a period of time.
BestTuneTM Operation
When the unit is connected to the mains power and then switched on from standby mode for
the rst time or you have just performed a factory reset, the unit will automatically enter into the
BestTuneTM mode and perform full scan.
During the scan the display will show <Scanning...> together with a slide bar that indicates the
progress of the scan and the amount of stations that have been found so far.
Once the scan has nished, the unit will select the rst alphanumerically from found stations.
To explore the found stations, press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to nd a station that you
would like to listen to, and then press the SELECT button to conrm selection.
NOTE: FM stations without RDS available are not included in the Station List.
Station List
The Station List will show all the found DAB and FM stations after scanning.
• To explore the Station List, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter into menu.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select <Station List>, and then press the SELECT
button to confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select a station, and then press the SELECT button
to confirm selection.
BestTuneTM Scan
The BestTuneTM Scan will search for the entire DAB and FM channels.
• To perform BestTuneTM Scan, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter into menu.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select <BestTune Scan>, and then press the
SELECT button to confirm. The display will show <Scanning...> and a progressing slide bar.
• All the stations that have been found will be stored automatically. To explore and listen to the
found stations, press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select a station, and then press the
SELECT button to confirm selection.

BestTuneTM Display (Info.)
To view further information broadcast by the station, press the MENU/INFO button, the display
will show the following information:
- <Service> Station service title.
- <Sources> If more than one source is available, press SELECT button and then press
▲ / ▼ buttons to choose the preferred source (DAB or FM), then press
SELECT button to conrm.
- <PTY> This describes the programme type that is being broadcast.
- <Freq> FM frequency or DAB channel dependent on Source.
- <Bitrate> The bitrate for a digital source (0kbps displayed for FM sources)
- <Signal> Signal strength expressed as a percentage.
Prune Invalid
This function allows you to delete all of the stations that are not available or in very poor
reception.
• To perform pruning invalid stations, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter into
menu.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select <Prune Invalid>, and then press the SELECT
button to confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Yes> for confirm deletion, or select <No> for exist, and
then press the SELECT button to confirm selection.
DAB OPERATION
NOTE: DAB mode is only available when BestTune is set to Off.
If the unit is connected to the mains power and then switched on for the rst time, the unit will
automatically enter into the DAB mode and perform full scan. During the scan the display
will show <Scanning...> together with a slide bar that indicates the progress of the scan and
the number of stations that have been found so far.
Once the scan has nished, the unit will select the rst alphanumerically found station. To
explore the found stations, press ▲ / ▼ buttons and then SELECT button to conrm selection.
DAB Scan
The DAB Scan will search for the entire DAB Band III channels. After the scan has nished, the
rst alphanumerically found station will be automatically selected.
• To activate DAB scan, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter into menu, then press
▲ / ▼ buttons to select <DAB Scan>. Press the SELECT button to confirm. The display will
show <Scanning...> and a progressing slide bar.
• All the stations that have been found will be stored automatically. To explore and listen to the
found stations, press ▲ / ▼ buttons and then press the SELECT button to confirm selection.
DAB Display (Info.)
To view further information broadcast by the station, press MENU/INFO button, the display will
show the following information:
- <Service> Station service title.
- <Sources> To display the current source.
- <PTY> This describes the programme type that is being broadcast.
- <Freq> DAB channel.
- <Bitrate> The bitrate for a digital source.
- <Signal> Signal strength expressed as a percentage.

Manual Tune
As well as the normal method of scanning, you can also manually tune to a particular channel /
frequency. This can be useful for adjusting your antenna to achieve the best possible reception
and scanning a particular channel to update the station list.
• Press and hold MENU/INFO button and then press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Manual Tune>.
Press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to scroll through the DAB channels, which are numbered from 5A to
13F.
• After your desired channel number is selected, press the SELECT button to enter the
current multiplex. It will now display the multiplex and you will see the signal strength.
• You will not see any new radios stations or hear anything while in manual tune. To find the
newly tuned in stations search through the Station List.
Prune Invalid
You may remove all unavailable stations from the list.
• During DAB mode, press and hold MENU/INFO button, and then press ▲ / ▼ buttons to
select <Prune Invalid>. Press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Yes> to confirm delete. Or select <No> to cancel.
FM OPERATION
NOTE: FM mode is only available when BestTune is set to Off.
To switch the unit to FM mode, press the MODE button. The display will show the frequency or
station name and any further RadioText information if available.
Auto Scan
• To search for an FM station, press ▲ / ▼ buttons and then press SELECT button to start the
forward or reverse scanning.
• Once a station has been found, the scanning will stop automatically.
Manual Scan
• To search for FM stations manually, press ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly until your desired
frequency is reached.
NOTE: With FM radio, it may be necessary to fine tune each station by pressing ▲ / ▼ repeatedly. Each
press will adjust the frequency by 0,05 MHz. If reception is still poor, adjust the position of the aerial or try
moving the radio to another location.
Scan Setting
This is a scanning option to scan all stations, or just scan stations with strong signal.
• Press and hold MENU/INFO and then press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Scan Setting>. Press
SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Strong Stations Only> or <All Stations>. Press SELECT
button to confirm.
FM Display (Info.)
To view further information broadcast by the station, press MENU/INFO button, the display will
show the following information:
- <Service> Station service title.
- <PTY> This describes the programme type that is being broadcast.
- <Freq> FM frequency.
- <Signal> Signal strength expressed as a percentage.

ALARMS AND SNOOZE
As well as a clock/calendar, there are two wake-up alarms with snooze facility. The alarm
sound for each alarm can use a Buzzer, Digital Radio or FM.
Alarms (Mains Power only)
• Press ALARM button to enter Alarm menu.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Alarm 1> or <Alarm 2> and press SELECT button to
confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select and press the SELECT button to confirm below option:
- <Alarm> On / O󰀨
- <Frequency> Daily / Once / Weekends / Weekdays
- <Wake Up time> (Alarm On time)
- <Source> Buzzer / DAB+ / FM
- <Preset> Last listened / Preset #
NOTE: The <Preset> option is only available if the <Source> is set to DAB+ and/or FM.
- <Duration> 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 / 120 minutes
- <Volume> 4-16
• Finally, press MENU/INFO button to return to Alarm menu and press MENU/INFO button
again to exit alarm setting.
NOTE: In Stand by mode active alarms are indicated by displaying the relevant Alarm 1 and/or Alarm 2
icons.
At the set time, the alarm will sound, quietly at rst, then gradually building up to the set
volume. To cancel a sounding alarm and switch the radio to standby, press the STANDBY or
ALARM button.
Snooze (Mains Power only)
To temporarily silence a sounding alarm, press DIMMER/SNOOZE button. You can change the
snooze period by repeatedly pressing DIMMER/SNOOZE button. Snooze periods are 5, 10, 15
and 30 minutes. The radio returns to standby for the set time period with a snooze countdown
displayed. When the countdown reaches 0 (zero) the alarm is triggered again.
Press the STANDBY or ALARM button to fully cancel a sounding alarm and switch the
radio to standby.

SYSTEM SETTINGS
Sleep
• To set the sleep timer, press and hold MENU/INFO to enter Menu.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <System Settings> and press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Sleep> and press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the sleep delay time in minutes from:
Sleep Timer Off / 10 / 20 / 30 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 minutes.
• Once you select a sleep delay period, and returns to the Now playing.
Time/Date
• To set the time & date, press and hold MENU/INFO button to display the menu.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <System Settings>, and then press SELECT button to
confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Time/Date>, then press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the option below:
- <Set Time/Date> Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to adjust the time and date, then press SELECT
button to conrm.
- <Auto Update> Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select auto update from Any / from Digital Radio /
from FM or No Update, then press SELECT button to conrm.
- <Set 12/24 Hour> Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select 12 Hour or 24 Hour, then press SELECT
button to conrm.
- <Set Date Format> Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select MM-DD-YYYY or DD-MM-YYYY, then
press SELECT button to conrm.
- <Clock Style> Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to adjust the clock style, then press SELECT button to
confirm.
• Press MENU/INFO button to exit the menu.
Language
• To set the display language, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter into menu.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select <System Settings>, and then press the
SELECT button to confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons repeatedly to select <Language>, and then press the SELECT
button to confirm.
• Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select and then press the SELECT button to confirm selection.
• Press MENU/INFO button to exit the menu.
Factory Reset
• To perform factory reset, press and hold MENU/INFO button to enter Menu.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <System Settings> and press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Factory Reset>and press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Yes> to perform factory reset or <No> to cancel.
Software Version
• To view the software version, press and hold MENU/INFO button to enter Menu.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <System Settings> and press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press ▲ / ▼ buttons to select <Software Version> and press SELECT button to confirm.
• Press MENU/INFO button to exit the menu.
