BASICSTRUCTURE
InDSorIPV50 SeriesSystemsDSS modulesdirectlyconnecttotherelatedNTdigital
phoneset. Thereisno needtospecificallyintroducethedigitalDSS modulestothesystem
sotheterminalnumbersetting isnot required.DSS modulesdirectlycommunicatewiththe
systemoverthedigitalNTphone.
ThedigitalDSS moduleconsistsof24programmablekeys in12x2matrixstructure.There
isapaperonDSS3K-24 moduletowriteassignednames,numbersorservices.Also
DSS3L-24modulehasanLCDscreenwhichusercan see theassignednames,numbers
orservices.
UTILIZATION
Therearesomefacilitiesfordifferentsituationsinordertousetheprogrammablekeys on
DSS module.
Itisenoughtopress therelatedDSSkeyifaserviceiswantedtobeactivated.
Ifanextension orlinenumberisassignedtothekey,thecallisstartedjustbypressingthis
key. Whileinaconversationwithaprogrammednumberifthiskeyispressed,thecallwill
beparked. Thecall canberetrieveduponpressing thekeyagain.

LEDSTATUS
Eachof24 keys onDSS modulecanbeprogrammed fortwodifferentfunctionsandthe
statusofthefirstfunctionisshownwitharedLED.Iftheassignedserviceisactive,the
relatedLEDbecomesON. Iffeatureiscancelled,relatedLEDbecomesOFF.Inthenormal
operation mode,youcantracethefunctionstatusofthekeysasgivenbelow:

PROGRAMMING
SincetheprogrammingofDSSkeys aredirectlymadethroughtheconnectedNTdigital
phone,thereisno needtomakeanyprogrammingovertheDSS module.Allrequired
settingsaremadethroughtheNTSeriesTelephoneSets.TheDSS Settingsmenuof
telephoneisusedforthispurpose.

•DeleteAll Keys
KEY PROGRAMMING
Therearetotally24programmablekeys andtheassignmentsofprogramsaremade
through thismenu.Ifthedesiredkeyispressedforalong time,thesecond functionofthe
keycan beusedfortheprogramming,sototally48functionscan beprogrammedtothese
24 keys.Keys becomeactiveafterprogramming isdone.Thefunctionsthatcanbe
assignedtokeys areexplainedbelow.
Extension
Usercanreachanextension,whichusercall frequently,throughasinglekeyby
programmingtheextensionsnumberonthekey.Afterentering theextension number,
select thekeyyou desiredtoprogram.Anextension numbercan beassignedtomorethan
onekey.
Aftertheprogrammingmodeisexitedand thiskeyispressed, theextension thathasbeen
storedon thekeycanbedirectlycalled.Inadditiontothecallingfunction,statusofthe
extension,whichwasprogrammedasthefirstfunctionofaprogrammablekey,canbe
viewedbytheLEDofthekeyandalsocanbeviewedon LCD screenofDSS3L-24
module.
Line
Itenablesyoutoprogramaspecificlinenumberon akey.Bypressing thatkey,you can
access thelinethathasbeenprogrammed onthekeyandmakeacall(providedthatitis
vacant)andyoucanaccess thatnumberbyasinglekey.
Alinecanbeassignedtomorethan onekey.Aftertheprogrammingmodehasbeen
exited,upon pressingthosekeys,itispossibletoaccesstheprogrammedlines,without
pressing9.Thestatusoftheline(thatwasprogrammedasthefirstfunction ofakey)can
beviewedbytheLEDof thekeyandalsocanbeviewedon LCD screenoftheDSS3L-24
module.

Call Control Key
Thiskeyisdesignedforuserswho havehigh intensecalltraffic,toparkandholdcallsby
pressingasinglekeyonly.Anyline(internalorexternal)whichisnotassignedtoanykey
ofDSSmodule,will beassignedtothefirstemptycall usekey.Usercaneasilyparkand
retrievethiscalleasilybypressingthatkey.
Firstofall,numberofCallControlKeys -between1and 6-shouldbedecided.(If the‘0’is
selected,theCallControlkeys definedbeforewill becanceled.)Afterthat,DSSnumberof
thekeys shouldbedefined. (Forexample;whentherearemorethanoneDSS modules,if
thekeys wantedtobeprogrammed as‘CallControlKey’areon thesecond DSS module,
‘2’must bewrittento‘DSS Number:’field.)Aftertheprocess isconfirmed,desirednumber
of call usekeys willbeassignedtotherelatedDSS modulebystartingfromthelastkeyof
DSS module.(ThelastkeyontherelatedDSS modulewill bethefirstCallControlKey.)
Thankstothis,sixdifferentcallscan becontrolledatthesametime.Callswillbeassigned
tothecallcontrolkeysinsequence(startingfromthefirstone).
Ifthereareno callassignmenttothosekeys,thereshouldappear‘-‘atnearof therelated
keyon theDSS3L-24module.Howeverifthereisan assignment,thereshouldappearthe
relatednumberatnearofthekey.Thestatusofacall canbeviewedbytheLEDonthe
keyand alsocanbeviewedon LCD screenofDSS3L-24 module.LCD Messagesand
theirmeaningsareshownbelow:

Oneofthefeaturesinthelistisselectedbyusingleftandrightnavigation keys.Then,on
‘DSS Key:’field,usershouldpress thekeyforashorttimetoselectthefirstfunctionora
longtimetoselectthesecondfunctionofthekey.Theassignmentwill beconfirmed by
pressing‘OK’.
CallDiversion; Ifthiskeyispressedandnumberofanextension isentered, forwardingto
thatextension isactualizedand thenredLEDlights.If it ispressedagain, theforwarding is
cancelledandtheLEDgoesout.
ChangeLabel; Thiskeyisusedtodisplaythesecond functionofthekeys ontheLCDof
theDSS3L-24moduleforashorttime.(ThiskeyisnotusableforDSS3K-24module.)
SincetheChangeLabelisaspecialkey, ithasonlyonefunction sousercannotprogram
anyfeaturefortheotherfunctionof thekey.Whileprogrammingthiskey, ifthereisanother
featureassignedbeforeit willbedeletedand newfeaturewill beprogrammed.
DoNotDisturb; Whilethetelephoneisonhook,ifthiskeyispresseditputstheextension
intothe“DoNotDisturb”mode.Inthatcase,telephoneringsoncewhentheextension is
called.Ifitispressedagainthe“DoNotDisturb”serviceiscancelled.Thecorresponding
redLEDison whileitisactive, andgoesoutwhenitiscancelled.
NightMode; Theusedmode(DayorNight)can beseenthroughtheLEDofthekey.It
can beemployedonlythrough thetelephonethathasbeendefinedastheoperator.The
phoneputsthesystemintotheNightModewhenthiskeyispressedbytheoperator.The
redLEDturnsonifnight modeisactive.If thekeyispressedbytheoperatoragainitputs
thesystembackintotheDayModeandtheLEDgoesout.
CallPick Up; Whenauserisbusyorinaconversation,theincoming internalorexternal
callcan betakenbypressingthiskeyandatthattimethefirstlineisparked.
CallBack; Ifacalledextension isbusy ornotansweringandifbusytoneisreceivedupon
attemptingtoaccessaline, thenthatextension/lineiscalledbackbypressingthiskeyand
theappropriateredLEDlights.Inordertocancelthecall backoperation,thekeyis
pressedagainwhilethetelephoneisonhookandtheLEDgoesout.
PhoneLock; Ifthiskeyispressedandapasswordisentered,thetelephonewill beclosed
forexternalcalls.Thetelephonewill beopenedforexternalcallsagain,iftheprocedureis
repeated.ThecorrespondingredLEDisonwhilethetelephoneislockedandgoesout
whenitisunlocked.
Feature Code
Bythismenu,usercanassign anyofthefeaturecodesofthesystemtoDSS keys.It
enablesusertousesystemfeatureswithpressingasinglekey.
PrivatePool
Asyoucanprogramthemostfrequentlyused9numberstotheprivatepoolofyour
telephone,youcanprogramthisprivatepoolnumberstoanyoftheprogrammableDSS
keys.

CommonPool
Thenumbersthathavebeenstoredinthecommonpoolmemoryfieldswithnumber000-
999 bytheoperatorcaneasilybeassignedtotheprogrammablekeys.
AUTO SETTINGS
ItispossibletoprogramDSSkeystogetherautomatically.Firstfunctionsofthekeys are
programmed intheordereasilystarting fromtheinitialvaluethatisenteredthroughthis
menu.(If anyofthefirstfunctionisassignedbefore,itwillbedeletedafterautoadjust
process.)
DELETEKEY
Itenablesusertodeleteassignment onasinglekey.
DELETEALL KEYS
Itenablesusertodeleteassignmentson allkeys.
