1 SAFETY
1.1 Safety observations
Danger!
A repairs must be performed by factory technica personne .
A inadequate repairs may cause injury to users.
The housing and frame may be subject to vo tage in the event of
fai ure.
The app iance must be disconnected from the power grid before being
disassemb ed. In its interior, there are parts under high vo tage.
A ways use a circuit breaker if testing whi e under power is necessary.
The ground connection must not exceed standardised va ues. It is of
utmost importance for persona safety and operating the app iance.
After any repair, VED 0701 tests must be performed, or specific
country ru es must be fo owed.
The power supp y cord can on y be rep aced by technica service
personne and using the rep acement cab e.
Special observations for induction appliances!
The induction app iances comp y with a safety ru es and
e ectromagnetic compatibi ity ru es in force. Peop e with pacemakers
imp anted must abstain from using or repairing this app iance. It is
possib e that the app iance cou d interfere with operation of an
imp ant.
Peop e who use hearing aids may note disturbances.
1.2 Repair observations
Caution!
Never try to repair by indiscriminate y exchanging components.
Proceed systematica y, and consider the technica documentation of
the app iance.
The e ectronics boards must not be repaired. They must be rep aced
with origina parts. A exceptions are documented separate y.

2 INSTA ATION
2.1 Assembly instructions
IMPORTANT!
Induction cooktops can on y be insta ed over venti ated ovens of
brands from the group and over kitchen furniture.
In the event that the cooktop is insta ed over un-venti ated ovens of
our brands, or other brands, the cooktop contro may reduce the
power eve and, if app icab e, turn off one or more burners that may
be operating, thereby showing indication C3 (shut off due to excessive
temperature on the radiator).
2.1.1 Overview
Correct insta ation in accordance with the insta ation instructions is a
necessary condition for the correct operation and a ong service ife of
the app iance. The insta er is iab e for a damages due to incorrect
insta ation.
2.1.2 Connection
The e ectrica connection of the app iance must be performed by a
qua ified technician, thereby considering the insta ation instructions,
the connection schematics and a ega provisions that may be
app icab e in order to prevent persona injury.
A induction cooktops come equipped with a power cord. One end is
connected to the e ectronics boards, whi e the other end has 6 wires
grouped in pairs by pin termina s.
Depending on the type of connection, one or more of the pin termina s
must be e iminated in order to connect correct y..

A sing e phase connection is made by connecting the ground, phase
and neutra termina s in the corresponding p aces of the p ug or jack.
In the event that the pin termina that joins two wires does not fit in the
ho e of the p ug or jack, remove the pin termina , strip the ends of the
wires and twist them together.

As regards a two phase connection, the insta er must know the
vo tages supp ied by the e ectrica distribution system of the home.
Remove the pin termina that joins the two ines, strip the ends of the
wires, and connect each one to the termina of the corresponding p ug
or jack.
In distribution systems with a common neutra , the pin can be
connected at the corresponding termina .

In systems with a differentiated neutra , remove the pin, strip the ends
of the wires, and connect them to the corresponding termina s,
thereby making the power supp y vo tage of the app iance 230 VAC.
If the app iance is connected erroneous y, the guaranty is void.
In the event that the app iance is erroneous y connected at 400 V, the
Touch Contro (TC) wi show the U400 error on the disp ay, and an
a arm tone wi sound. The cooktop must be disconnected
immediate y and the connection checked in order to e iminate the
cause of the fai ure.
2.1.3 Installation
A indications in the insta ation manua must be respected. There is
additiona information in the app iance manua and in the technica
documentation.
The app iance must not be started up if any damage due to transport
is observed.
2.1.4 Characteristics of Induction IV appliances
Pay specia attention to the coo ing in ets and out ets of induction
app iances.
For insta ation over an oven as we as over a cabinet, a separation of
20 mm from the wa or the back of the furniture must be eft at the
rear of the app iance in order to a ow correction venti ation.
In the event of insta ation over an oven, a distance of 4 mm between
the bottom part of the counter and the top part of the oven front must
be respected.
Air entry to the cooktop must not be obstructed.
If the app iance is insta ed in an enc osed piece of kitchen furniture,
the rear pane must be e iminated in order to provide correct
venti ation.

The new generation of Induction IV cooktops improves the insta ation
conditions of the previous generation in the fo owing aspects:
► It does not require a front air exit for insta ations without an
oven underneath.
► It a ows insta ation on 20-mm counters with cabinets and
venti ated ovens manufactured by FMH (Montañana).
► It a ows insta ation on 30-mm counters with venti ated ovens
not manufactured by FMH, with pyro itic ovens, 40-cm
compact ovens and “Nosta gia” ovens.
The new Induction IV generation is not officia y approved for
insta ation with dishwashers.

3 OPERATION
3.1 Induction cookware
3.1.1 Overview
A pots and pans with a ferromagnetic base are va id for
induction.
On y containers that have a base where a magnet remains
adhered can be used.
The induction system does not heat up other kinds of
containers, and the power eve indicator on the disp ay wi
b ink.
The minimum diameter of the container must ikewise be
taken into account.
3.1.2 Valid pots and pans
Ename ed stee pots and pans.

Stain ess stee pots and pans, as ong as they have a specia
ferromagnetic base for induction.

3.2 Modification of the Y 146/147/... TC alarm tones
The user can, in accordance with the instructions for use, connect or
disconnect the a arm sounds of the cooktop. The warning or a arm
ights are a ways connected.
Step Sound connection or disconnection
1 Connect the main switch of the cooktop.
2 Put a heating e ements at eve 3.
3 Disconnect the heating e ements from right to eft.
4 Press the main sensor and ho d for more than 5 seconds.
5 After 4 seconds, a beep is heard.
6 The a arm sounds have now been activated or deactivated
depending on the previous status.

3.3 Minimun Diameter
• It is important to point out that we recommend to use the
nomina diameters for getting the best cooking resu t.
• The minimum diameters are tested with stain ess stea discs
(type ST-52). Depending on the pot materia and construction
these va ues can be different.
• The nomina power is reduced as the pot diameter is sma er, in
order to avoid overheatings, which can damage the pot.

4.1.1 Components

4.1.2 60-cm frame-glass unit
The g ass ceramic forms a unit with the frame. The bottom surface of
the g ass is not po ished, except where there are TC disp ays and
where a fine ayer of transparent si icone has been aid down in order
to see better through the g ass.
The TC, together with the induction e ectronics, is fastened to the
cooktop base using c ips and/or screws. The frame-g ass unit is
fastened to the cooktop base using screws.
There are two kinds of frame-g ass units:
► Basic unit. The basic frame is adhered to the g ass, thereby
forming a unit.
► TOP or beve ed unit. An additiona piece is used, ca ed the
interna 4I frame, which is adhered to the g ass.
In both cases, the frame-g ass unit is bo ted around the perimeter of
the base using 12 screws.

4.2 Relay board
4.2.1 2I models relay board
The re ay board rep aces the TC power board of the previous
generation. Basica y, it a ows contro ing the resistive heating
e ements.
The image shows a view of the re ay board, thereby observing the
re ays that connect the radiant heating e ements, the power grid
connection termina s and the heating e ements.

The re ay board rep aces the board of the previous generation that
had a microcontro er.
Important:
Avoid the contact between the contro cab e (re ay board and e in
cab e) and the IGBTs due to the higher temperature they can reach.
So, put the contro cab e behind the e ements c oser to the IGBTs as
shows the picture.

4.2.2 3I models with Superbooster relay board
The 3I mode s with Superbooster function has a so re ay board to
contro the extra power increment in the pae ero heating.
For that reason, the Superbooster function can be activated.
The CNT8 connector is used to contro the re ay board and the others
to power requirements.

4.3 Ind IV Advanced induction
4.3.1 Differences and improvements respect Ind IV
There are two differences according to the inductors:
• The more obvious characteristic in Advanced is the ho e that
has the mica in the center that makes contact between the NTC
and the g ass pane . In Ind IV, the NTC was hidden behind the
mica due to a si icone ayer.
• The number of oops of the inductor has a so changed
(decrease) in a heaters.

Improvements:
• Its temperature is ower than in Ind IV (offers power for more
time, i.e. to cook seria s of chips,…)
• The modu e power functions at higher frequencies, reducing
the pots noise when cooking.
• Due to the contact between the NTC and the g ass pane , the
meassure of the temperature is better.
4.3.2 Assembly

4.6 eft induction electronics (E IN left)
4.6.1 Overview
The new induction e ectronics integrate a the e ectronic copmponents
associated with burners 1 and 2, which components in the previous
generation were divided into the power board, the contro board and
the fi ter board.
The induction e ectronic board communicates with the TC through LIN
communication. The TC sends the power eve orders of each burner,
and the induction e ectronics return the burner status (container
detection, errors, etc.).
4.6.2 Assembly
The eft induction e ectronics (ELIN IZDA) are fastened by two bo ts at
the base.
4.6.3 Components
Basica y, the induction e ectronics board consists of the fo owing
systems:
► Filtro de interferencias.
The interference fi ter consists of an assemb y of coi s and condensers
that a ow imiting the emission of conducted interference.
► Power supply
The power supp y is the switched type and has 4 different outputs:
· +24V for the fan power sup y.
· +5V / +3.3V for the power supp y of the contro ogic.
· +20V for the power supp y of the drivers of the power inverter
devices
· +15V for the power supp y of the input vo tage measure circuits.
► Inverter with two outputs
The power inverter converts the a ternating current of the power grid
into the variab e high-frequency a ternating current that powers the
inductors.
It basica y consists of a power rectifier and two inverters with series-
resonant ha f bridge topo ogy.
► Inverter control
The inverter power devices are contro ed by an integrated circuit
especia y designed by BSH. This circuit communicates with the
microprocessor and imposes the operating frequency if the inverter
and is responsib e for feeding back the output current of the inverter.
► Induction module control.
The induction e ectronics modu e is contro ed by a microprocessor.
This component communicates with the TC, thereby receiving the
power eve s se ected by the user, and it returns information on the
burner status to the TC (container detection, errors, etc).
Cooktop contro is moreover responsib e for monitoring the
temperature of the power inverter and the inductor, for deciding on fan
connection, for monitoring the residua heat indicators, etc.
