Tools and Materials
Before You Begin
IMPORTANT! The tape covering the sensor eyes must remain in
place when the valve is not installed.
For K-10959 New Installation Only
Install the fixture according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Install rough water supply piping according to the roughing-in
illustration.
Flush the supply piping in order to remove any debris from the
supply line.
Shut off the main water supply.
This atmospheric vacuum breaker shall not be subjected to a
continuous pressure for more than 12 hours.
The device shall be installed in accordance with the requirements
of the local plumbing code.
The device shall not be installed where the venting of water from
the device, during normal functioning, causes damage.
The device shall be installed downstream of the last valve.
For K-10964 Retrofit Installation Only
Turn off the water supply to the fixture prior to performing any
installation modifications.
Remove the existing flush valve according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Correctly position the existing stop valve and vacuum breaker
prior to installing the new exposed electronic valve.

1. Install the Control Stop
For K-10959 only
IMPORTANT! Flush the water supply line and then turn off the
water supply.
Cut the water supply tube and sweat solder the 3/4″male NPT
threaded adapter to it.
NOTE: Install the threaded adapter so the centerline of the
externally threaded control stop arm matches the centerline of the
spud when assembled.
Place the wall flange over the water supply tube and slide it
against the finished wall.
Place the sleeve over the water supply tube. If required, cut the
sleeve to size.
NOTE: Use thread sealing compound only on male NPT threads.
Apply thread sealant to the male NPT threaded adapter.
Thread the control stop valve onto the threaded adapter.
Thread the stop cap onto the control stop using a strap wrench.
Align the outlet to the valve inlet and use a strap wrench to
tighten the control stop.

2. Install the Vacuum Breaker and Valve
For K-10959 Only
NOTE: Insert the components in the order specified.
Place the vacuum breaker into the tailpiece.
Place the fiber washer onto the vacuum breaker.
Slide the large tube nut over the bottom of the tailpiece and
tighten it to the valve body with a strap wrench.
Slide the coupling nut, escutcheon, fiber washer, and rubber seal
over the end of the tailpiece.
Handtighten the inlet arm nut to connect the valve body to the
control stop. Align the tailpiece with the toilet spud.
Slide the escutcheon over the spud.
Handtighten the coupling nut to the spud.
Plumb and tighten the valve to the control stop and the coupling
nut to the spud using a strap wrench.
Remove the tape covering the sensor eyes.
Turn on the water supply.
For K-10964 Only
Plumb and tighten the valve to the control stop and the large
tube nut to the vacuum breaker using a strap wrench.
Remove the tape covering the sensor eyes.

Install the Vacuum Breaker and Valve (cont.)
Turn on the water supply.
3. Verify Valve Function
NOTE: The valve is programmed with a 24-hour cleaning feature.
Approach the fixture and stand in front of the sensor.
After ten seconds, step away from the fixture. After a short delay,
the valve should flush.
Confirm that the flush ends.
Later, verify that the valve performed the 24-hour cleaning flush.
NOTE: If required, troubleshoot according to the Troubleshooting
table.

Avant de commencer
IMPORTANT! Le ruban qui recouvre les yeux du détecteur doit
rester en place lorsque le robinet n’est pas installé.
Pour la nouvelle installation K-10959 seulement
Installer le dispositif conformément aux instructions du fabricant.
Poser la tuyauterie d’arrivée d’eau brute conformément au plan
de raccordement illustré.
Purger la tuyauterie d’arrivée afin d’éliminer tous les débris de la
conduite d’arrivée.
Couper l’arrivée d’eau principale.
Ce casse-vide atmosphérique ne doit pas être soumis à une
pression continue pendant plus de douze heures.
Le dispositif doit être installé conformément aux exigences du
code de plomberie local.
Le dispositif ne peut pas être installé aux emplacements où la
ventilation de l’eau en provenance du dispositif peut causer des
dommages au cours d’un fonctionnement normal.
Le dispositif doit être installé en aval de la dernière vanne.

Avant de commencer (cont.)
Couper l’arrivée d’eau au dispositif avant de procéder à des
modifications d’installation.
Déposer le robinet de chasse existant conformément aux
instructions du fabricant.
Positionner correctement la vanne d’arrêt et le casse-vide existants
avant d’installer le nouveau robinet électronique exposé.

1. Installer la vanne d’arrêt
Pour le modèle K-45905 uniquement
IMPORTANT! Purger le conduit d’arrivée d’eau, puis couper
l’arrivée d’eau.
Couper le tube d’arrivée d’eau et y attacher l’adaptateur fileté
NPT mâle de 3/4″en effectuant un brasage tendre.
REMARQUE: Installer l’adaptateur fileté de manière à ce que la
ligne centrale du bras fileté de la vanne d’arrêt corresponde à la
ligne centrale de la ligature lorsque le tout est assemblé.
Placer la rosace murale par-dessus le tube d’arrivée d’eau et la
faire glisser contre le mur fini.
Placer le manchon par-dessus le tube d’arrivée d’eau. Si
nécessaire, couper le manchon à la taille correcte.
REMARQUE: Utiliser le mastic d’étanchéité pour filets sur les filets
NPT mâles seulement.
Appliquer du mastic pour filets sur l’adaptateur fileté NPT mâle.
Enfiler la vanne d’arrêt sur l’adaptateur fileté.
Enfiler le capuchon d’arrêt sur la vanne d’arrêt à l’aide d’une clé
à sangle.
Aligner l’orifice de sortie sur l’orifice d’entrée de la vanne et
utiliser une clé à sangle pour serrer la vanne d’arrêt.
