Before You Begin
WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. Connect to a properly
grounded, grounding-type receptacle, protected by a
Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) or Earth-Leakage
Circuit-Breaker (ELCB).
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Handle with care. Vitreous
china can break or chip if the bolts and nuts are overtightened, or if
the product is handled carelessly.
IMPORTANT! Record the model number (from the label on the box)
in the Homeowners Guide for reference.
A dedicated 120 VAC, 15 A, 60 Hz circuit (protected by a Class A
GFCI or ELCB) is required for installation.
NOTICE: The Canadian Electric Code requires receptacles installed
in bathrooms to be located at least 1 meter from a bathtub or
shower if practical, but in no case less than 500 mm. If the
installation is in Canada, install this unit in accordance with the
Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1.
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Carefully inspect the new toilet for damage.
If the existing toilet does not have a supply shut-off valve below
the tank, install one before installing the new toilet.
Kohler reserves the right to make revisions in the design of
products without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

1. Remove the Existing Toilet
CAUTION: Risk of hazardous gases. If the new toilet is not
installed immediately, temporarily place a rag in the closet
flange.
Turn off the water supply.
Flush the toilet.
Sponge out all remaining water from the tank.
Disconnect the supply shut-off valve, if present.
Remove the old toilet.
Remove the old wax seal from the floor with a putty knife.
Replace the old T-bolts with the new 5/16″diameter T-bolts.

2. Install Electrical Service
DANGER: Risk of electrical shock. Connect only to a
properly-grounded, grounding-type receptacle which is
protected by a GFCI or ELCB. Do not remove the grounding
pin or use a grounding adapter.
NOTICE: The Canadian Electric Code requires receptacles installed
in bathrooms to be located at least 1 meter from a bathtub or
shower if practical, but in no case less than 500 mm. If the
installation is in Canada, install this unit in accordance with the
Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1.
A licensed electrician should install a properly-grounded,
grounding-type receptacle which is protected by a Class A GFCI
or ELCB.
The receptacle should be located 6″(15.2 cm) above the floor line,
and 3″(7.6 cm) to the right of the closet flange centerline.
The toilet electrical cord is 36″(91.4 cm) long.

3. Install the New Toilet
Install or relocate the supply and outlet as necessary to conform
to the roughing-in dimensions.
Install a supply shut-off valve.
Lay the toilet down onto a padded surface.
From the bottom of the toilet, firmly press a new wax seal around
the toilet outlet.
Remove the temporary rag (if used) from the toilet flange hole.
Align and lower the toilet over the flange and T-bolts.
IMPORTANT! Do not lift or rock the bowl after placement. If you
break the watertight seal, you must install a new wax seal.
Apply your full body weight around the toilet to set the seal.
Place the bolt cap bases over the T-bolts in the ″up″position as
marked.
Place the washers and nuts on the bolt cap bases and T-bolts.
IMPORTANT! Do not overtighten the nut. Overtightening may
cause breakage or chipping of vitreous china.
Carefully tighten the nuts.
NOTE: To achieve optimum performance, be sure the bowl is level.
IMPORTANT! Risk of product damage. Protect the vitreous china
from the saw blade when cutting off excess T-bolt length.

Install the New Toilet (cont.)
Measure the length of the T-bolts from the top of the nuts. If the
bolts extend 1/4″(6 mm) or more, cut off the excess.
Attach the bolt caps.

4. Complete the Installation
Remove the Packing Material
NOTE: Do not remove the pump hose clamps.
Remove and discard the protective materials used in shipping.
Cut the wire holding the pump to the back wall of the toilet.
Discard the wire tie.
If the pump has shifted during shipping or installation, reposition
it so it is not touching the back side wall of the toilet.
Complete Connections
Connect the supply shut-off valve to the toilet supply shank.
Open the supply shut-off valve slowly to check for leaks. If the
connections have been properly assembled, a slight tightening of
the nuts should stop leakage.
Install the toilet seat according to the packed instructions.
Plug the toilet electrical cord into a Class A GFCI or ELCB
receptacle.
Adjust the tank water level to the proper marked waterline by
rotating the threaded rod clockwise to raise the water level or
counterclockwise to lower the water level.
Carefully set the cover onto the tank.

5. Confirm Operation
Flush the toilet several times and check all connections for leaks.
NOTE: This toilet is equipped with dual-flush operation. A higher
capacity flush is used for heavy soil. The shorter flush is used for
lighter loads. Make sure both flushes operate properly.
Periodically check for leaks for several days following the
installation.

avec précaution. La porcelaine vitrifiée peut casser ou se fragmenter
si les boulons ou écrous sont trop serrés ou si le produit est
manipulé avec négligence.
IMPORTANT ! Enregistrer le numéro de modèle (de l’étiquette sur
la boîte) dans le guide du propriétaire pour référence.
Un circuit dedié de 120 VCA, 15 A, 60 Hz (protégé par un
disjoncteur GFCI ou ELCB de classe A) est nécessaire pour votre
installation.
AVIS : Le Code Électrique Canadien exige que les logements
électriques installés dans la salle de bains soient à 1 mètre de la
baignoire ou de la douche si possible, et en aucun cas à plus de 500
mm. Si l’installation est au Canada, installer cet appareil en
concordance avec le Code Électrique Canadien, Partie 1.
Respecter tous les codes de plomberie et de bâtiment locaux.
Inspectez soigneusement le nouveaux WC de tout défaut.
