Operation of the Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™
To select the various different modes of operation, there is a 4 button keypad and 4 digit
LED display on the rear of the product.
To begin, press the button marked “MODE”. Each press will choose one of the working
modes described below. Once the desired mode has been selected, the button marked
“SETUP” will allow the user to select a parameter that they wish to change (such as speed
etc). To choose a value of the parameter, press either the “UP” or “DOWN” buttons until
the desired setting is achieved.
Note: There is no need to have an “enter” or “store” button, as this is automatically done
for you.
Note: The LED display will enter power saving mode after 20 seconds after the last button
press. It will turn on again after pressing any button.
Note: When first powered on, the display will briefly show the firmware version programmed
into the memory of the controller. This is displayed as a “U” followed by the version number.
(e.g. “U3.01”)
1- Built-in PROGRAM Mode (Single pattern)
To use the built-in program mode – a library of exciting and vibrant patterns and colour
changes, keep pressing the “MODE” button until the LED display shows “PR” followed by a
2-digit number (e.g. PR07). The “UP” and “DOWN” buttons allow the selection of a pattern
and there are more than 20 patterns to choose from.
When you have selected the pattern you desire, you have the option of changing the
speed of the program – i.e. how fast the different colours and patterns appear. To change
the speed, press the “SETUP” button then use the “UP” and “DOWN” buttons to select the
desired speed.

2- AUTO Mode
To use the built-in Auto mode – a library of exciting and vibrant patterns and
colour changes, keep pressing the “MODE” button until the LED display shows “AUTO”. In
this mode the unit will run pattern one for a period of time, then automatically run pattern
two and so on. This creates an ever-changing light show without the need for the operator
to intervene.
You have the option of changing two parameters:
(1) How much time will elapse before the next pattern is automatically selected (next)
(2) How fast the patterns will run – (speed)
(1) To change how often the next pattern will be introduces (next), press the “SETUP” button
until the letter “n” appears on the display, followed by a number between 1 and 100.
Use the “UP” and “DOWN” buttons to set the value you require.
(2) To change the speed, press the “SETUP” button until the letters “SP” appear on the
display, followed by a number between 1 and 99. Use the “UP” and “DOWN” buttons
to set the value you require.

3- DMX Mode
It is possible to operate the Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ from a remote location by using
either a DMX controller or a PC or laptop with a DMX interface. Lanta products use a 3
pin XLR style connector and usually have an input and output DMX connector. This allows
multiple lighting products to be “daisy-chained” together to build a display controlled by
just one cable back to the DMX controller.
NOTE: In larger installations, there may be limitations regarding the maximum length of
DMX cables and the maximum number of devices that can be used in one daisy-chain
(or node).
NOTE: It is often desirable to terminate the last device on the node to minimize noise
and interference. Interference on a DMX network can make some lighting products to
behave erratically; this is most noticeable with moving head or other motorized products.
This is not a fault with the lighting product.
Please see your DMX controller handbook for further details.
To use the built-in DMX function, it is necessary to set the DMX address. To do so, first
choose the correct mode by pressing the “MODE” button until the LED display shows
“d” followed by a 3-digit number (e.g. d007). The “UP” and “DOWN” buttons allow the
selection of the DMX address and can be selected between 001 and 512.
The Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ uses two adjacent CHANNELs of DMX and the first will be
determined by the DMX address setting - as described above - and the second CHANNEL
will be one CHANNEL higher. E.g. if the DMX address has been set to 105, then the Lanta
Fireball Galaxy Pro™ will be operated by channels 105 and 106. In most applications, it is
sufficient to set the DMX address to 001 as shown in the table below.
When the Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ is connected to the DMX controller, each CHANNEL
will be controlled by a slider or similar control. When the slider is at the bottom the VALUE
is 0. When the slider is at maximum, the VALUE is 256. The value can be set at any level
at any time. The following table explains what the Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ will do when
the value of CHANNEL 001 and 002 are set:-

4- MASTER /SLAVE Mode
This is a great way of making two or more Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ units do the same
things at the same time, without the need for a DMX controller. The Lanta Fireball Galaxy
Pro™ has a DMX controller of its own, built inside and when a second Lanta Fireball
Galaxy Pro™ (set as SLAVE) is connected to a Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ (set as MASTER)
the SLAVE will follow all of the activity of the MASTER. It is possible to connect several SLAVEs
to a master, creating a magnificent light show!
To use the built-in MASTER/SLAVE function, keep pressing the “MODE” button until the LED
display shows “SLAu”. Then join this SLAVE unit to another Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ that is
in either Program, Auto or sound mode – this acts as the MASTER.
NOTE: The DMX OUT connector of the MASTER should be connected to the DMX IN of the
slave using a 3 pin DMX cable.

Revision 1
Fireball Par64S Owner Handbook ™
5- SOUND Mode
This mode will really bring your Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ to life. The built-in microphone is
designed to react to the bass notes – the “beat” of the music. Each time the microphone
detects a bass note, it will advance the pattern in time to the music.
To operate the SOUND mode, press the “MODE” button until the LED display shows
“SU” followed by two digits. The numbers represent the microphone’s sensitivity setting.
This will range from SU00-SU31. The louder the music, the lower the sensitivity required to
operate the sound function – and the lower the number the operator needs to select.
If set too high, the Lanta Fireball Galaxy Pro™ will seem to run continuously and not in time
with the beat.
In addition, this effect can be enhanced by use of the speed setting. For slow music, you
may want the setting to be a low number. This will produce small changes in pattern and
colour for each beat of the music. Conversely, setting the speed higher will produce a
more dynamic effect with each beat of the music.
To operate the SPEED mode, press the “MODE” button until the LED display shows
“SP” followed by two digits, ranging from 01-10. 01 is the slowest speed setting, 10 is
the fastest.
