essary components needed to complete the
task including labeling that must be affixed to
ensure safe operation.
Kitpartnumbersarelistedhere andthefollow-
ing steps detail the conversion procedure.

Step1.Turnoffthegassupplytotheappliance
and disconnect the electrical power. Remove
the front glass door from the appliance.
Step 2. Carefully remove the logs. Exercise
care so as not to break the logs.
Step 3. Refer to Figure 1 .
Remove the burner assembly with attached
venturi tube.

Step 8. Turn on gas supply and test for gas
leaks, using a soapy water solution.

Use pipe joint compound or Teflon tape on all
pipefittingsbeforeinstalling(ensurepropane
resistant compounds are used in propane ap-
plications, do not use pipe joint compounds
on flare fittings).

and the instructions provided with the kit. Re-
move and discard the two pressure regulator
mountingscrews. Removethepressureregu-
lator and diaphragm. Discard all removed
components. Ensuretheprovideddiaphragm
isinstalledproperlyontothereplacementpres-
sure regulator and install the new pressure
regulator using the new screws supplied with
the kit. Tighten screws.
See
Figure 3 and replace the pilot orifice as
follows: Removepilothoodassemblytoaccess
thephillippedpilotorifice. Removeandreplace
the orifice with the one provided with the kit.
Exerciseextremecaretopreventdamagetoor
breakage of the ignitor assembly.
Step 5. (Refer to
Figure 1 )
A. Remove the orifice from the manifold and
replaceitwiththeoneprovidedinthekit.Seethe
following table for orifice sizes for natural and
propanemodels .Figure4 illustratestheorifice.
B. Retrieve the burner and slide the venturi
tube overtheorifice. Settheshutteradjusting
opening as shown in
Figure 5 .
Step 6. Reassemble the remaining compo-
nents by reversing the procedures outlined in
the preceding steps.
