Call Basics
Block Calls
To block incoming calls from a number, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Call.
4. Tap Call reject.
5. Tap Rejection list.
6. Tap the Add icon.
7. Select from the following options:
oContacts
1. Tap to select the check box next to the contact(s) you want to add to the list.
2. Tap Done.
oCall logs
1. Tap the number you want to reject.
2. Tap Done.
oNew number
1. Enter the number you want to reject.
2. Tap Save.
Note: You will receive a message notifying you when a call has been rejected.
Unblock a number
To allow incoming calls from a number you previously blocked, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Call.
4. Tap Call reject.
5. Tap Rejection list.
6. Tap Trash can icon.
7. Tap the desired number(s) to be unblocked.
8. Tap Delete and then Yes to confirm.
Call Forwarding
Cancel call forwarding
To turn off or cancel call forwarding that you have set up, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Call.
4. Tap Call forwarding.
5. Tap Always forward.
6. Tap Disable.
Forward all calls (unconditional)

Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) immediately forwards all calls to another phone number without allowing the
device to ring.
To forward all calls, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Call settings.
4. Tap Call forwarding.
5. Tap Always forward.
6. Enter the phone number to forward your calls to. Note: The number for voicemail forwarding is
+18056377249.
7. Tap Enable.
Forward some calls (conditional)
Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC) forwards incoming calls to another phone number if you do not or cannot answer
them (no reply, busy, unavailable).
To turn on conditional call forwarding which forwards some calls, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Call.
4. Tap Call forwarding.
5. Under Forward if, tap one of the following options:
oBusy
oUnanswered
oUnreachable
6. Enter the phone number to forward your calls to.
7. Tap Update.
Call Settings
DTMF Tones – Not available
The phone uses touch tones (DTMF) but you cannot turn the feature off.
The device can send a number to the network as dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones. DTMF tones are used to
communicate with automated systems that require you to type a number such as a code, password, or credit card
number. Your phone uses DTMF tones but you cannot turn off or change them.

Volume
Call volume
To raise or lower the in-call volume, follow these steps:
1. While on a call, press the top Volume key up or down to raise or lower the in-call volume.

Call Timer
This feature is not available.
Voice Commands
Open an app
To open apps using voice commands, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Tap Voice Search.
3. If necessary, tap the microphone to activate it.
4. Speak Open + [name of app].
Dial a contact
To use voice dialing to call a contact, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Tap Voice Search.
3. If necessary, tap the microphone to activate it.
4. Speak Call + [name of contact].
Write a text message (SMS) with voice
To write and send a text message (SMS) using voice commands, follow these steps:
Turn on
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Language & input.
4. Next to LG Keyboard, tap the Settings icon.
Note: Next to Google voice typing, tap the Settings icon to select the language.
5. If necessary, tap Voice typing key to select the Check box.
Write
1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Tap Messaging.
3. Tap Contacts to select a recipient or else tap the To field and enter a phone number.
4. Tap Enter message.
5. Tap the Microphone key located to the left of the Space key.
Note: If the Microphone key is unavailable, touch and hold on the key to the left of the Space key and
then drag your finger over the Microphone icon. Release your finger.
6. Speak the desired text.
7. If desired, tap the Keyboard icon to return to the keyboard.

To call your voicemail and retrieve messages, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
2. If necessary, tap the Dial tab.

Bluetooth
Pair Bluetooth device
To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. If necessary, under Wireless & networks, tap the Bluetooth switch to turn on.
4. Tap Bluetooth.
5. Tap Scan for devices.
6. From the list, tap the device with which you want to pair.
7. When prompted enter the PIN and tap OK.
8. On the other device, accept the pairing.
Turn on/off Bluetooth
To turn on Bluetooth and pair with a headset or other device, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. If necessary, under Wireless & networks, tap the Bluetooth switch to turn on.
4. Tap Bluetooth.
5. Tap Scan for devices.
6. From the list, tap the device with which you want to pair.

Data usage indicator
To turn on, set, or turn off the data usage indicator, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Mobile data.
4. Choose from the following options:

oTo turn on a data usage limit, follow these steps:
1. Tap Limit mobile data usage to select the Check box and then tap OK. A new
horizontal red bar appears in the graph.
2. Touch and drag the red bar up or down to the desired data amount. When you reach
this data amount, your data connection is automatically disabled.
oTo set the data usage limit, follow these steps:
oFrom the graph, touch and drag the red bar to the desired data usage setting. If you
exceed this setting, your data connection is automatically disabled.
oTo turn off a data usage limit, follow these steps:
oTap Limit mobile data usage to clear the Check box.
Note: From the graph, touch and drag the orange bar to set a data usage warning. A warning
will not automatically disable your data connection. You can also tap the orange bar and then
select a very high value to avoid receiving a warning.
View data use by app
To view how much data certain apps are using, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Mobile data.
4. If desired, tap the Data usage cycle field or the Vertical bars located on the graph to adjust which time
period you want to examine.
5. Swipe up and view the data used by applications (largest to smallest) for the time period.
Global Positioning System (GPS)
Turn on/off GPS
To turn on or turn off GPS, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Location access.
Turn on
4. To turn on, tap the Access to my location Switch to On. If desired, tap to adjust the GPS satellites and
Wi-Fi & mobile network location settings. Tap Agree.
Turn off
5. To turn off, tap the Access to my location Switch to Off. The GPS satellites and Wi-Fi & mobile network
location settings are automatically turned off as well.
Internet and Browser
Browser cache
To clear the mobile browser cache, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Tap Browser.
3. Tap the Menu key.
4. Tap Settings.
5. Tap Privacy & Security.
6. Tap Clear Cache.

To clear the mobile browser cookies, follow these steps:

Home Screen
Add widget or shortcut
To add a widget or shortcut to the Home screen, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the desired Home screen.
2. Touch and hold a vacant spot on any Home screen.
3. Tap one of the following options:

4. Swipe left or right and then touch and hold on the desired app shortcut or widget.
5. Drag the app shortcut or widget into position on the Home screen and then release your finger.
6. If necessary, follow any additional prompts to finish setting up the app shortcut or widget.
Delete widget or shortcut
To delete a widget or shortcut from the Home screen, follow these steps:
1. Touch and hold on the widget or app shortcut.

2. Drag the app shortcut or widget over Remove at the top of the screen.
3. Release your finger.
Home screen wallpaper
To change the Home screen wallpaper picture, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, touch and hold an empty spot on the screen.
2. Tap Wallpapers.
3. Tap one of the following options:
oGallery thumbnail
1. Tap the desired picture.
2. If desired, tap and drag the box to adjust picture size and crop area.
3. Tap OK.
oLive wallpapers thumbnail
1. Tap the desired wallpaper.

Swipe left or right and tap the desired wallpaper. The wallpaper is automatically

Lock screen wallpaper
To change the lock screen wallpaper picture, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap Lock screen settings.
3. Tap Wallpaper.
4. Tap one of the following options:

1. Tap the desired picture.
2. If desired, tap and drag the box to adjust picture size and crop area.

Keyboard
Change default keyboard
To change the default keyboard, follow these steps:
Note: You cannot change the default keyboard. However, you can change the input settings for the LG keyboard.
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Language & input.
4. Tap Default and then tap Setup input methods.
5. Tap the Settings icons and adjust the desired settings.
Enter symbols and numbers
To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:

1. From the open keyboard, tap the 123? key.
2. Enter the desired numbers or symbols.
3. Tap the 1/2 key to see more symbols.
4. Tap the Menu key and then tap Insert smiley to insert an emoticon.
5. Tap the abc key to return to the alphabet keyboard.
Text entry mode
To change the text entry or predictive text mode, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Language & input.
4. Next to LG Keyboard, tap the Settings icon (gear).
5. Tap Word suggestion.
6. Tap Clear prediction history to clear this information.
7. Tap the following options to select the Check box and turn on or clear the Check box and turn off:

Turn on/off haptic feedback
To turn on or turn off haptic feedback vibration, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Language & input.
4. Next to LG Keyboard, tap the Settings icon (gear).
5. Tap Touch feedback.
6. To turn on, tap Vibrate feedback to select the Check box.
7. To turn off, tap Vibrate feedback to clear the Check box.
Notifications/Ringtones

To change the notification sounds, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.

4. Tap Notification sound.
Note: To tap, you volume level must be above zero.
5. Tap the desired notification sound and then tap OK.
Ringtones for all calls
To change the ringtone for all calls, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.

4. Tap Phone ringtone.
Note: To tap, your volume level must be above zero.

5. Tap the desired phone ringtone and then tap OK.
Ringtone for one contact
To change the ringtone for one contact, follow these steps:
Note: You cannot assign a ringtone to SIM card contacts.
1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
2. Tap the desired contact.
3. Tap the Edit icon (pencil).
4. Under 'Ringtone,' tap Default ringtone or else tap the current ringtone name.
5. Tap the desired ringtone to assign it to the contact and then tap OK.
6. Tap Save.
Battery/SIM Card
Insert/remove battery
To to insert or remove the battery in your device, follow these steps:
1. Power the phone off.
2. Remove the back cover using the notch located at the bottom of the phone.
3. Align the gold contacts on the battery with the gold contacts in the battery compartment (1) and press the
battery down until it clicks into place (2).
4. Replace the back cover by pressing it onto the phone.
To remove the battery, follow these steps:
1. Power the phone off.
2. Remove the back cover using the notch located at the bottom of the phone.
3. Lift the battery out of the compartment using the notch located above the battery slot.
Battery saving mode
To turn on, turn off, or use battery life saving features on the device, follow these steps:

1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Power saver.
4. To turn on, tap the Power saver Switch to On.
5. To turn off, tap the Power saver Switch to Off.
Battery saving mode settings
To change settings for the battery life saving feature, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Power saver.
4. Tap Turn Power saver on and then tap a percentage of battery power used for when power saving turns
on.
5. Tap to the following power saving settings to select the check box and enable or clear the check box and
disable:

Saving battery life
To save and extend battery life, follow these steps:
Lower screen brightness and timeout duration
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Display.
4. Tap Brightness.
5. Touch and slide the slider left to the lowest desirable setting.
6. Tap OK.
7. Tap Screen timeout.
8. Tap the lowest desired setting (lowest is 15 seconds) for when the screen will sleep.
Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap More.
4. Tap USB tethering & Mobile HotSpot.
5. Tap Mobile HotSpot to clear the Check box.
6. Touch the Status bar and drag it down.
7. Tap Wi-Fi to clear the icon of color.
8. Tap Bluetooth to clear the icon of color.
9. Tap GPS to clear the icon of color.
Change application sync settings
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Accounts & sync.
4. To turn off all applications from syncing, tap Auto-sync data to clear the Check box.
5. To adjust sync settings for individual applications, tap the desired application.

6. Tap to adjust the desired application sync settings.
Note: For some applications (for example, Google), tap your user name at the top of the screen to
adjust more sync settings.
Turn off background data
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap Mobile data.
4. Tap the Menu key.
5. Tap Restrict background data to select the Check box.
Minimize use of third party applications
1. To delete a third party application, from any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap App settings.
3. Swipe left or right to the Downloaded screen.
4. Tap the desired application
5. Tap Uninstall (to delete the program) or Disable (to turn off the program) and then tap OK.
Update to the latest software
1. From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
2. Tap System settings.
3. Tap About phone.
4. Tap System updates.
5. Tap Check now.
6. Follow any additional prompts.
Set device to sleep when unused
1. Press and then quickly release the Power key to set the screen to sleep mode.
Insert/remove SIM card
To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:

2. Remove the back cover using the notch located at the bottom of the phone.
3. Lift the battery out.
4. Slide the micro SIM card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched side is inserted
first.
5. Replace the back cover by pressing it onto the phone until it clicks into place.

4. Slide the SIM card out of the slot.
Delete SIM messages
To delete SIM messages, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.

3. Tap SIM box.
4. Tap Delete.
5. Choose one of the following options:
oTap Select all to delete every SIM card message.
oTap each individual message to select the message you want to delete.
6. Tap Delete and then Yes.
View free SIM space
To view free space on the SIM card for contacts or messages, follow these steps:
Note: The following procedure only describes how many messages are stored on your SIM card. It does not
describe how much free space you have.
1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
2. Tap the Menu key.
3. Tap SIM box. Any messages stored on your SIM card are listed.

Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI)
Walmart Family Mobile devices have an indicator that shows if it has been subjected to liquid damage. To read the
Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI), follow these steps:
1. Remove the back cover and battery from your device.
2. View the images to read the label:

White LDI (indicates no liquid damage)
Pink or red LDI (indicates liquid damage)
Memory
Manage memory
To manage the internal memory, follow these steps:
Restart device regularly
Note: You should restart your phone at least once per day.
1. Press and hold the Power key.
2. Tap Power off and restart.

Reduce memory use
Note: If your phone is running slow, then you can reduce the amount of memory it is using.
•Reduce your RAM clear period
1. From any screen, press and hold the Home key.
2. Tap Task Manager.
3. Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
Note: Make sure the Check box for 'Auto Clear RAM' is selected.
4. Tap Auto-clear period.
5. Tap the desired setting that determines how often your RAM is cleared.
•Remove widgets (Animated widgets and widgets that update information use the most memory)
1. From the desired Home screen, touch and hold on the widget.
2. Drag the widget over Remove and release your finger.
•Replace a Live wallpaper
1. From any Home screen, touch and hold on the screen and then tap Wallpapers.
2. Tap either Gallery or the a Wallpaper thumbnail to the right of Live Wallpapers.
3. Follow the prompts to set a new wallpaper that replaces the current Live wallpaper.
•Remove unused Home screens
1. From any Home screen tap the Menu key and then tap Edit home screens.
2. Touch and hold on the Home screen to be deleted.
3. Drag it over Remove and release your finger. Tap OK.
Manage applications
Note: Manage your applications to keep your device running smoothly.
•Research and monitor new applications that you install
oRead Play Store application reviews before installing. Not all applications run smoothly on
phones. Read customer reviews before downloading an application to see if it has a history of not
working properly.
oIf your device starts having problems after installing an application, consider uninstalling the
application.
•Keep applications updated
1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Tap Play Store.
3. Tap the Menu key and then tap My Apps.
Note: To keep your apps automatically updated, tap the Menu key, tap Settings, and then tap
Auto-update apps to select the Check box.
4. Choose one of the following options:
Tap Update [x] to update all applications with updates available.
Tap an individual application and then tap Update to update a single application.
•Clear recent applications
1. From any screen, press and hold the Home key.
2. To close an individual recent application, touch an application from the list and drag it to the
right.
3. To close all recent applications, tap Clear all.
•Never install a third-party Task Manager or Battery Manager

A task manager can view running apps and close them. To use the task manager, follow these steps:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Tap Task Manager.
3. Next to the desired application, tap Stop to stop running the application. Otherwise, tap Stop all to stop
