Introduction
The Tokyo Bed is an overhead-mounted bed designed with variations for ceiling or wall mounting in the
driver's compartment of the vehicle. The bed has gas-actuated cylinder arms to assist in the lowering and
raising of the bed platform.

This manual provides general instructions. Many variables can change the circumstances of the instructions,
i.e., the degree of difficulty, operation and ability of the individual performing the instructions. This
manual cannot begin to plot out instructions for every possibility, but provides the general instructions,
as necessary, for effectively interfacing with the device, product or system. Failure to correctly follow the

Resources Required
• 2-3 persons depending on task
• Cordless or electric drill or screw gun
• Appropriate drive bit
• #8-18 x 1.00" Self-drilling screws
• Tape measure
Moving parts can pinch, cut or crush. Keep clear and use caution.
Installation
Ceiling-mount Bed
1. With assistance, dry-fit the closed bed assembly (Fig. 1) flat against the ceiling in the front of theunit.

2. Position bed mounting rails equally distant from the front seam of the ceiling(Fig.2A).
3. Keep bed mounting rails flat against the ceiling and parallel to each other (Fig. 2).

4. Lock the bed and the mechanisms so that they are in the closed position.
5. Use a tool long enough with the appropriate drive bit for the OEM-supplied self-drilling screws
(Fig.3A) to ensure proper securing of the bed mounting rails.
6. Install self-drilling screws in all accessible holes of both mounting rails to make sure the bed is secure
and safe.
7. Remove the support and position the bed in the lowest position. Place a load on the bed to make sure
the bed remains stable while in its lowest position.
8. Complete installation of the self-drilling screws in the remaining mounting holes.

Wall-mount Bed
1. With assistance, dry-fit the closed bed assembly (Fig. 4) flat against each wall in the front of theunit.
2. Position bed mounting rails;
A. Equally distant from the ceiling(Fig.5A) so that approximately an 1/2" minimum gap exists
between the ceiling and the top of the mounting rail spring assemblies.
B. Equally distant from the front wall (Fig. 5B) to allow for the bed's range of motion.

3. Keep bed mounting rails level and flat against the walls.
4. Use a cordless or electric drill or screw gun with the appropriate drive bit for the OEM-supplied
self-drilling screws (Fig. 6A) to secure the bed mounting rails.
5. Install self-drilling screws in all holes of both mounting rails.

Post-installation Check
1. Check for loose mounting rails. Make sure mounting rails are tight and flat against the
mountingsurface.
2. Check for loose screws. Make sure all mounting screws are fully installed.
3. Check bed's range of motion for freedom from any interference. Pull the bed down to its fully open
position, then push it upwards into its fully closed position.
4. Make sure extension arms and gas struts do not bind when the bed is operated in either direction.
