HealtHRestRiCtions Use the LYRIC only when in full possession of your physical and mental faculties. Individuals with the
following conditions should not operate the LYRIC:
 Heart conditions
 Head, back, or neck ailments, or prior surgeries to those areas
 Any mental or physical conditions that may make individuals susceptible to injury or impair their
physical dexterity or mental capabilities to recognize, understand, and perform all of the safety
instructions and to be able to assume the hazards inherent in the unit’s use
 Pregnant women
 Individuals under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or prescription medications that may cause
drowsiness, affect balance and judgment
balanCe The rider must be capable of safely riding a bicycle on his/her own.
nostuntsoRHoRsePlay The LYRIC is not developed for any type of tricks, stunts, jumping,wheelies or racing.
notadisabilitydeviCe The LYRIC has not been designed, tested or approved as an assistance device for physically
disabled. The driver must, under all circumstances, be capable of riding a bicycle without any
assistance or training wheels.
beKind Regardless of where you use the LYRIC, operators should always show courtesy to others and ride
in a safe and suitable manner.
dRiveR’sliCense If required by law, you must carry a valid driver’s license that is locally accepted for riding the LYRIC.
insuRanCe Make sure you are covered with insurance for both you and your LYRIC.
oPeRatoR The owner must ensure that any operator of the LYRIC fully reads, understands and follows all
instructions in this manual. A demonstration to ensure that the rider understands the operation
of the LYRIC is strongly advised.
modifiCations Do not remove, modify or alter any components of the LYRIC. Any modification can cause
malfunctions and the loss of warranty claims. Modifications can be dangerous and lead to serious
injuries. Do not open, disassemble or service the battery.

leg isl ation Always pay attention to the local applicable legislation about the use of the LYRIC on public roads and
in public places. If you are uncertain regarding your local legislation, contact your local authorities or
your LYRIC dealer (nd dealer contacts on our homepage) for information.
PRivatePRoPeRty To ride the LYRIC on private property, always obtain permission from the owner to do so.
Road Typically bicycle lanes and side roads with low trafc (if allowed) are suitable for riding the LYRIC.
Run3Rmodels The RUN3R is only to be used on paved roads and places with an even surface, such as asphalt,
concrete, sports eld pavement, etc.
otHeRmodels The off road versions can be used on streets and on dirt roads which are in good condition for driving,
and on lawns, or beaches with compact sand.
unsafeConditions  Do not ride when road and weather conditions prohibit safe use.
 Never ride on snow, ice or greasy surfaces (i.e. oil), in heavy rainfall or with poor visibility (i.e. fog).
Wet and icy weather impairs traction, braking, and visibility.
 Do not use the LYRIC in water or drive through standing water under any circumstances.
 Do not ride on stairs, escalators or through revolving doors.
Do not ride off curbs.
 1.3PRoteCtivegeaR
note Always inform yourself about local regulations regarding the use and wearing of protective gear
on public roads and areas where you are riding. In some countries/states, it is mandatory to wear
a helmet at all times.
lyRiCReCommends  Helmets with chin protection, which must be DOT or SNELL certied
 Good, sturdy footwear—No heels, open-backed shoes, or ip-op type sandals
 Arm, elbow, knee and shin guards, as well as chest protection
 1.4PRoteCtivemeasuRes
For maximum safety when riding the LYRIC , it is extremely impor tant to take certain protective measures:
tHRottle Never use the throttle unless you are standing with both feet on the LYRIC platform and are fully ready to ride.
tuRningComPonents Turning wheels are a high risk for injury. Hands, feet, body parts and clothes should under no
circumstances be close to turning wheels. To prevent injury, never touch any moving or turning parts.
CollaPsiblefRame Special precaution must be used with the collapsible frame, especially when folding up the folding stem
into the riding position, as well as when folding out the platform for the riding position. You risk
injuring ngers, hands or other parts of your body.

 HotbRaKedisCs Do not touch brake discs during or immediately after use, as they can get very hot when used.
bePRePaRedtostoP At any point in time during the use of the LYRIC, the rider must be alert and prepared to stop. Special
care must be taken as soon as other people or vehicles are close by.
oPeRationalenviRonment  Temperature: -15ºC/5ºF to +45ºC/113ºF
 Humidity: 5% to 85%
litHiumbatteRies Lithium batteries pose a risk of injury when handled improperly. Therefore:


beaWaRe Adjust your riding style to your ability as well as road, trafc and weather
conditions. The LYRIC is to be operated in a safe and suitable manner.
avoiddistRaCtions The rider should not use a cell phone, listen to headphones, or engage in any other activity that might
distract or interfere with the ability to monitor the surroundings while driving. The attention of the
rider must be directed toward operating the LYRIC.
botHHandsandfeet While driving the LYRIC, both hands should be kept on the handlebar, and both feet should be kept
on the platform.
luggage Do not carry objects in your hands or on the platform while driving. Use the LYRIC’s carrier equipment,
such as a top case, to transport objects/luggage.
PaRKing Activate the park brake and turn the LYRIC off with the remote key. In addition, you may also turn the
alarm on. Remove battery keys and remote control key when parking the LYRIC. Secure with an
adequate lock.
 1.5PRe-RideinsPeCtion
 Check the functionality of the LYRIC prior to each use.
 Make sure all fastening elements are tight (bolts, quick release clamps, folding mechanism for stem
and platform, etc.). Do not use the LYRIC if any parts are loose or damaged.
 Ensure that brakes work properly.
 Both batteries must be rmly locked onto frame and both keys must be taken off the battery before
riding the LYRIC.
 1.6PRaCtiCe
 New riders must practice using the LYRIC rst. Training rides should be performed in a safe place
on an even and non-slippery surface, away from trafc or pedestrians.
 Always be alert and ready to use the brakes.

 1.7RidingtiPs
tuRbomode* Only use turbo mode when going uphill for a short period of time (up to 3 minutes at a time).
3-sPeed* Beginners should use speed 1 (slow). Use speed 2 (medium) and 3 (max speed) only if you are
an experienced LYRIC user.
bRaKing* Use primarily the left brake lever to slow down, which is for the rear wheels.
ReveRse* This feature should only be used by experienced LYRIC users and can only be activated on certain models.
aCCeleRation Never accelerate in an uncontrolled fashion.
teRRain/suRfaCeCHanges Be aware that every terrain/surface change (i.e. from pavement to grass, a threshold or speed bump)
is a potential hazard and may require a change in driving style. Do not pull up the LYRIC handlebar
when riding over obstacles.
steePsloPes When going downhill never exceed a speed of 35km/h (22mph). Instead, use the brakes to slow
down or push the LYRIC. If driving across a slope the driver must balance the inclination by leaning
his/her body uphill.
addedHeigHt Because of the added height of the LYRIC platform (and the driver’s helmet) special care must be
taken when driving indoors, as well as through doorways, archways, under tree branches, signs,
or other overhead obstacles.
visibility To ride safely, the rider must be able to see clearly and must be visible to others. Always switch on
the light when riding the LYRIC at night time or in conditions of low visibility. Follow local legislation
regarding regulations for using the LYRIC at night.
tuRns/CuRves Always turn slowly and with caution—do not turn abruptly! Lean into the turn to maintain balance. The
body must be brought into an inclined position as on
a bicycle or motorbike.

 2.1unfoldPlatfoRm
beWaReofPinCHPoint  Fold out the platform and close the quick releases on both sides of the platform as shown below.
 To fold out the platform, always hold the LYRIC as shown on the photos below; One hand holds the
fork or light bracket (1), the other holds the diagonal tube (2).
beWaReofPivot 
Keep your ngers, hands or other parts of your body away from the pivot (3) when folding out the
platform; you could get seriously injured.
 Fold out the rear part of the platform (4) by 180°, so that the two parts form an entire platform
and the LYRIC stands rmly on all three wheels on the ground.
 Bring the quick release handle (5) into a horizontal position and turn it around until it stops
in position; (6)You must feel some pressure when doing this in order to be sure the lock will stay
firmly closed. Should this not be the case, tighten the counter nut (7) until you can feel the
correct pressure when closing it.

beWaReofPinCHPoint  Fold up stem with attached handle bar (1) so that the center guide (A) and the stem align parallel
to the cylinder (B) below.
 Push in safety lock button (2) fully and push down the stem at the same time until the safety
lock button pops out again (3).
 Pull the stem up again to check if the stem sits firmly on the cylinder; the stem should not move
up or down and the safety lock button should sit correctly in its proper position (4).
Adjust counter nut (5) of the quick release until you feel a strong pressure when closing the quick
release (6) and you are able to rmly push it down onto its arrester (7).

pushed in all
the way before pulling up the
stem.
 Note: Be careful not to bend the center guide (A).

beWaReofPinCHPoint Keep hands off battery rail while inserting or removing the battery. With lock facing the rider,
insert battery carefully over the guiding rail and slide downward slowly. Make sure no cable or hose
obstructs it from doing so (1).
 Approx. 12mm (0.5 inch) before the lower arrest, slide the battery carefully over
the electric battery contacts (2).
 Push battery down carefully, but rmly until it locks into place.
Caution Always place the right battery on the right side and left battery on the left side (from the rider's view).
The batteries are marked above the lock. The left is marked with an ”L” at the beginning of its number,
the right one with an “R”. You must always use battery sets with the same serial number together
(i.e. R000455 with L000455).
 2.5loCKbatteRies
 Lock battery to the battery guiding rail by turning the key until you reach the “LOCKED” position (1).

Should the lock not close mechanically, push battery down and try again. Never operate the key
with a lot of force, as it could break off or bend.
 Remove keys when batteries are locked onto the frame (for safety and theft protection).
Caution Never ride with a key inserted! When riding the LYRIC, the batteries must be locked onto the frame.
If not, the batteries could slip off the battery contacts when riding over slightly uneven surfaces. This
could damage the battery or its contacts and it could lead to interruption of power.

 3.1batteRies
batteRybasiCs The batteries used on the LYRIC are based on a Lithium type technology. These batteries are designed
using the latest technology for high power density, low weight and a long life span.
Before using the LYRIC for the rst time, please charge both batteries until the green LED on the
charger unit lights up (approximately 5 hours with the standard charger).
batteRyledReadout Push the button (1) to turn on the LED interface. The 5 LED lights (2) show the remaining battery
capacity:
5. LED = battery capacity 100% - 80%
4. LED = 80 %– 60%
3. LED = 60% - 40%
2. LED = 40% - 20%
1. LED = 20% - 0%
The LED display turns off automatically after 5 seconds.
note The LYRIC battery power is activated by the LYRIC's electronic remote key (ignition system).
See chapter 3.2 Remote Key/Alarm for more information.
CHaRgingofbatteRies 1. First connect the AC power cord to a standard socket-outlet (110... 240Vac/50 or 60Hz)
2. Then connect the DC connector to the battery.
Charge the battery until the charger’s status LED changes to green. (Full charge = 5 hrs)
batteRyCHaRgeR LED1: red = charger connected to AC Power
LED2: yellow = charging
LED2: green = fully charged
Caution Do not combine batteries with different charge levels on the same LYRIC; i.e. one fully charged battery
with one partially discharged battery. This reduces the lifetime of the batteries. When you have more
than one LYRIC in use, make sure to always keep batteries as a pair. The two batteries belonging to
one set are marked with the same set-number above the lock, together with the letters ”L” for left
”R” for right (i.e. L000455 and R000455); these two batteries must always be used together.
