CORDLESS BLOWER SAFETY
WARNINGS
Training
1. Readtheinstructionscarefully.Befamiliarwiththe
controlsandthecorrectuseoftheblower.
2. Never allow children, persons with reduced
physical,sensoryormentalcapabilitiesorlackof
experienceandknowledgeorpeopleunfamiliar
withtheseinstructionstousetheblower.Local
regulationsmayrestricttheageoftheoperator.
3. Electricshockcouldoccurifusedonwetsurfaces.
Donotexposetorain.Storeindoors.
4. Keep in mind, that the operator or user is respon-
sibleforaccidentsorhazardsoccurringtoother
people or their property.
Preparation
5. Obtainearprotectionandsafetyglasses.Wear
thematalltimeswhileoperatingtheblower.
6. Alwayswearsubstantialfootwearandlongtrou-
serswhileoperatingtheblower.
7. Donotwearlooseclothingorjewellerythatcanbe
drawnintotheairinlet.Keeplonghairawayfrom
the air inlets.
8. Topreventdustirritationthewearingofaface
mask is recommended.
Operation
9. Operatetheblowerinarecommendedposition
andonlyonarm,levelsurface.
10. Never point the nozzle at anyone in the vicinity
whenusingtheblower.
11. Neverblocksuctioninletand/orbloweroutlet.
• Donotblocksuctioninletorbloweroutletto
clean up in dusty areas.
• Donotusetheblowerwithataperednozzle
smaller than the original one, such as a new
nozzleobtainedbyattachinganextradiam-
eter-reduced hose or smaller hose to the
nozzle top end.
• Donotusetheblowertoinateballs,rubber
boatorthesimilar.
Increased motor revolution may cause dangerous
fanbreakageandresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
Heatedmotorandcontrolcircuitmaycauseare.
12. Donotoverreachandkeepproperbalanceand
footingatalltimes.Alwaysbesureofthefooting
on slopes and to walk, never run.
13. Donotoperatethebloweronapavedorgravel
surfacewhereejectedmaterialcouldcauseinjury.
14. Neveroperatetheblowerwhilepeople,especially
children,orpetsarenearby.
15. Donotoperatetheblowernearopenwindow,etc.
16. Operatingthebloweronlyatreasonablehoursis
recommended - not early in the morning or late at
nightwhenpeoplemightbedisturbed.
17. Usingrakesandbroomstoloosendebrisbefore
blowingisrecommended.
18. Itisrecommendedtoslightlydampensurfacesin
dusty conditions or use mister attachment avail-
ableonthemarket.
19. It is recommended to use the long nozzle so the
air stream can work close to the ground.

Iftheblowerstrikesanyforeignobjectsorshould
startmakinganyunusualnoiseorvibration,imme-
diatelyswitchofftheblowertostopit.Removethe
batterycartridgefromtheblowerandtakethefollow-
ingstepsbeforerestartingandoperatingtheblower:
• inspectfordamage,
•
whentheblowerisdamaged,haveitrepaired
byMakitaAuthorizedServiceCenters.
21. Switchofftheblowerandremovethebatterycar-
tridge and make sure that all moving parts have
come to a complete stop
• wheneveryouleavetheblower,
•
beforeclearingblockagesoruncloggingchute,
• beforechecking,cleaningorworkingontheblower,
• iftheblowerstartstovibrateabnormally,for
immediately check, or
• afterstrikingaforeignobjecttoinspectthe
blowerfordamage.
22. Donotinsertngersorotherobjectsintosuction
inletorbloweroutlet.

Preventunintentionalstarting.Ensuretheswitch
isintheoff-positionbeforeinsertingbatterypack,
pickinguporcarryingtheblower.Carryingthe
blowerwithyourngerontheswitchorenergising
theblowerthathastheswitchoninvitesaccidents.
Maintenance and storage

Whentheblowerisstoppedforservicing,inspec-
tion, or storage, or to change an accessory, shut
offthepowersource,removethebatterycartridge
fromtheblowerandmakesurethatallmovingparts
cometoacompletestop.Cooldowntheblower
beforemakinganyinspections,adjustments,etc.
Maintaintheblowerwithcareandkeepitclean.
25. Storetheblowerinadryplaceoutofthereachofchildren.
26. Alwayscooldowntheblowerbeforestoring.
27. Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttobesurethe
blowerisinsafeworkingcondition.

28. Rechargeonlywiththechargerspeciedbythe
manufacturer.Achargerthatissuitableforone
typeofbatterypackmaycreateariskofrewhen
usedwithanotherbatterypack.
29. Usethebloweronlywithspecicallydesignated
batterypacks.Useofanyotherbatterypacksmay
createariskofinjuryandre.
