Thank you for choosing the award winning
Manrose Genius - the leading 100mm
intelligent through-wall ventilation fan kit.
This innovative ventilation product was
designed and built in Sweden by a sister
company in our group - PAX. The PAX
User and Installation Guide, included in
the Manrose Genius kit, is applicable to
the Manrose Genius, except for the specific
details below. Locate the App by searching
for Simx Connect from compatible android
or iOS devices, using Google Play or App
Store respectively.
Learn more about all the possibilities with
our App at www.manrose.co.nz.

These slides are designed to aid in the
set up and demonstration of the Manrose
Genius app controlled fan.
The fan can be used without setting up on
the app and, in this case, will operate on
default factory settings.

unit as shown.
To remove the motor unit, firmly grip and
pull out from the housing. To return the
motor unit to the housing, align tabs and

Once the unique pin number is entered
the fan will display a white light to show
communication is taking place.

If you have more than one fan in the
home, you can re name them to suit
their locations. For example
• Family Bathroom
• Ensuite 1
• Ensuite 2
• Spare Room
• Utility Room
• Kitchen
6
DESIGNER SERIES

The name will appear in the full list and
gives the user the reassurance that they
have selected the correct fan before
proceeding to change the settings or
functionality.
7
DESIGNER SERIES

Please note that in order to use the
automation control functionality of the
Manrose Genius, it is recommended that
it is NOT wired through a wall switch
(refered to as a “circuit breaker” in the App).
Also, if replacing a standard basic fan or
pull cord fan that only has a two-wire power
supply, select NO.
If, however, you simply wish to run the
Manrose Genius via a manual ON/OFF
wall switch, select YES.
8
DESIGNER SERIES
GENIUS
Manrose Genius can be set-up as a Heat
Transfer unit to move warm air through an
internal wall from one room (eg. lounge) to
an adjacent room.
The Simx Connect App can be used to
set-up this function and adjust settings.
Refer page 17 for Heat Transfer settings
9
DESIGNER SERIES

The fan can also be used as an
intermittent fan or as a continuously
running fan.

Congratulations.
Once you have linked the fan, you can
proceed to setting the individual fans
the way you want.
Providing you with the most intelligent,
controllable and flexible 100mm fan
available.
11
DESIGNER SERIES
GENIUS
Once the set up is complete you can
select the individual fan from the list.
You can then begin to enjoy the
flexibility and controllability of the
Manrose Genius.
12
DESIGNER SERIES

By selecting the settings icon at the
top of the page you can make some
functional changes.
Select how you want to display the
airflow.
We would suggest selecting the litres
per second display option. This way,
when adjusting the sensitivity of the
individual functions, it will be displayed
in the quantity of air moved.

Manually boost the fan for 15 minutes at any time to apply maximum ventilation.
Switch the sensors on /off.
Trickle or Basic Ventilation function. This will adjust the sensitivity and extraction rate of
the continuous running cycle.
The Light sensor allows the fan to be boosted automatically when room occupancy is
detected via a light being turned on in the room. This can have a delay timer applied to
avoid the boost activating on shorter visits. It also has an overrun function. Both of these
are accessed by selecting more options once light sensor is selected.
Adjusts the sensitivity and extraction rate of the humidity sensor function
Schedule if you want silent hours by stopping the fan from boosting automatically. During
these hours only the trickle function will be in place and the fan will not go to boost.
Choose purge cycles for periods should you leave the house unoccupied. By selecting this
option the fan will boost twice a day for either 30, 45 or 60 minutes. This will prevent the
house becoming full of stale and humid air that can support mould growth.
14
DESIGNER SERIES
GENIUS
Once each of the individual sensors
have been selected the adjustment is
simple.
By simply sliding the bar up and
down the amount of air moved when
the function is activated is increased
or reduced.
For example when the humidity
function is activated the air flow can
be adjusted from 22 l/s to 30 l/s.
This gives the end user total control.
Additionally, the individual
functions are able to be turned on
and off or adjusted.
When automatic purge cycles are
activated, the fan runs on maximum
speed once every 12 hours for 30,
45 or 60 minutes. This is to ensure
the air in the room is refreshed twice
a day.

This adjusts the rate of
humidity change required
to trigger the fan. You can
then use the sliding scale

air moved in the function.
Select sensitivity,
overrun and delay start
periods for the light
sensor. This is obtained
by selecting more options
once light sensor has been

Manrose Genius as a through-wall heat
transfer unit
For heat transfer select the temperature
at which you wish the fan to start moving
the warm air from one room through an
internal wall to another room or hallway.
Set the speed of the fan when operational
in heat transfer mode.
Then set the ventilation trickle speed of the
fan when it is below transfer temperature.
This could be off or you could set to
have trickle ventilation.
