UNPACKING
The shipment should be thoroughly inspected as
soon as it is received. The signed “bill of lad-
ing” is acknowledgement by the carrier of receipt
in good condition or shipment covered by our
invoice. For your own protection, if any of the
goods called for on the bill of lading are shorted
or damaged, do not accept them until the carrier
makes a notation on the freight bill of the shorted
or damaged goods.
Notify MAXXHAUL immediately if any hidden
loss or damage is discovered after receipt.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read and understand all
safety warnings and in-
structions. Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in serious injury
or death. Save all warnings and instructions
for future reference.
2. Personal and Work Area Safety
A. Always wear ANSI approved
safety goggles.
B. Always wear hearing protec-
tection when working in
noisy environments. Prolonged exposure
to high intensity noise can cause hearing
loss.
C. Use safety equipment. Safe-
ty shoes, hard hat and work
gloves must be used for applicable condi-
tions.

D. Dress appropriately. Never wear loose
tting clothing or jewelry when working.
Contain long hair, and keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts.
E. Use common sense when working.
Stay alert and concentrate when setting up
and using the Van Rack. Never work while
under the inuence of alcohol, drugs or
medications.

F. While assembling and using the Van
Rack keep work area clean and well light-
ed. Keep spectators and children out of
the work area.
3. Use of the Van Rack
A. Do not modify the Van Rack and do not
use this product for purposes that it was not
designed for.
B. Never exceed the maximum load capac-
ity of 500 Lbs.
C. Be aware of the danger of “dynamic
loading”. This situation arises when a load
is dropped onto the Van Rack, resulting in a
short term excessive load. Dynamic loading
can result in damage and failure of the Van
Rack and personal injury to the person load-
ing the Van Rack.
D. Never load people or animals onto the
Van Rack. Keep children and spectators
well clear when loading unloading and using
this product.
E. Adhere to all Department of Transporta-
tion (D.O.T.) requirements when using this
product. Always use ropes and straps to
securely hold the load in place.
F. For the vehicle that will support the Van
Rack, read all pertinent vehicle instruc-
tions and warnings provided in the owner’s
manual. Make sure that the vehicle has the
roof lip-edge design needed to securely and
safely mount the Van Rack’s Brackets (1).
Make sure the vehicle’s engine is OFF, with
parking brake set, before loading or unload-
ing the Van Rack.
G. This product re-
quires complete assembly and set-up on
the van. Depending on the size of the van,
use of a stool or ladder may be required.
Use extreme caution when using a stool or
ladder to prevent accidents. If you are not
experienced or capable of doing this type
of assembly and set-up work, the Van Rack
should be assembled and set-up by a quali-

using this product.
Limited Warranty
MAXXHAUL warrants to the original retail
purchaser that the product is free of defects
in material and workmanship at the time of
shipment. This Van Rack is warranteed for
90 days from the date of purchase. This
warranty is expressly in lieu of all other war-
ranties, express or implied.
Proof of purchase is required for warranty
transactions; a copy of the original invoice
or sales receipt is required.

Assembling and Setting Up the Van Rack
Always wear ANSI approved
safety goggles.
1. Refer to photos above of an already
assembled Van Rack, and diagram below.
Also see Assembly Diagram at end of this
manual.
2. Assembling Brackets (1) to Cross Beams
(3, 4). Note: The front and back compo-
nents of the Van Rack shown above are
identical, and assembled in the same way.
3. Insert shorter bolt, Bolt (10), large diameter
Flat Washer (11), and large Spring Washer
(12) into the mounting hole and thread Bolt
(10) into end of Cross Beam (3).
4. Slide end of the Bigger Cross Brace (4) into
Thinner Cross Brace (3) and insert and hand
tighten Set Screw (13).
5. Attach another Bracket to end of Bigger
Cross Brace (4) as described in #3 previ-
ously.
6. Assemble the other Crossbeam/Bracket
rack in the same fashion.
7. Carefully place the completed Cross-
beam assemblies on top of the van and after
noting the location of roof’s lip-edge attach-
ment points, make adjustment for proper
width of the Van Racks. Tighten Set Screws
(13).
8.
Place the Attachment Hook (2) around
the van’s roof lip-edge and tighten with long
bolt, Bolt (7) See photo below.
9. Repeat steps in #8 above to secure all
Attachment Hooks in place.
10. With assembly complete, check for tight-
ness of all hardware.

Using the Van Rack
1. Make sure the ve-
hicle is in a safe place for loading the Van
Rack. Make sure the vehicle’s engine is
OFF, with parking brake set, before loading
or unloading the Van Rack.
2. Do not exceed the maximum load
capacity of 500 Lbs. Evenly distribute the
load on the Van Rack.
3. Before each use, check for tightness of
all hardware. Frequently check the condi-
tion of the Van Rack. Make sure all compo-
nents are in good condition. If the Van Rack
becomes damaged through accident, or if
any damage is noted, the product should be
replaced.
