Connection / start-up
The MEC MCC-40 battery charger is designed for 12V lead-based or 12V lithium (LiFePO4) starter batteries.
The battery charger is delivered with "Universal" charging profile. This profile allows all conventional lead-based and
lithium-iron-phosphate starter batteries to be safely recharged. To ensure the optimal recharging of the starter battery, a
special charging profile can be selected for WET, GEL, AGM and lithium (LiFePO4), which is saved when the power is
disconnected.
Start-up
1.
Match the polarity on the vehicle to the polarity on the charger using the vehicle documents.
a. Polarity on the 12mm DIN-ISO 4165 charging plug:
b. Pole terminal adapter:
c. If the charging socket polarity does not match the charging plug polarity on the battery charger, the pole
terminal adapter must be used to recharge the starter battery directly.
2.
Check the battery type using the vehicle documents or the manufacturer information on the battery.
a. If the battery type cannot be clearly identified, please use the "Universal" charging program.
3.
Connect the power cable (AC) to the mains socket.
4.
Select the battery type.
5.
Connect the charging plug to the motorcycle, or connect the pole terminals to the battery, paying
attention to the
polarity.
6.
Recharging starts and ends automatically.
7.
If the battery charger remains connected to the mains as well as to motorcycle/battery, the charge status will be
checked after 7 days (168 hours) and the recharging will commence automatically if required.
