Introduction
Thank you for selecting the CleanTech® 2000S & 4000S Automated Hand Cleansing System, with Boot
Sanitizing Pan option, as a component in your handwashing regimen. We designed the Series 2000S &
4000S to provide your facility with an automated, turnkey system that meets or exceeds your hand
cleansing requirements for compliance, standardization and effectiveness. The addition of the Boot
Sanitizing Pan saves valuable employee time and increases boot sanitizing contact time for the best in
footwear hygiene.
This manual describes everything you will need to properly site, install, and maintain your Boot Sanitizing
Pan System attached to the CleanTech system. Please refer to the separate CleanTech® 2000S or 4000S
Installation operation manual for set up and installation of those handwashing systems.
The CleanTech 2000S w/ Boot Sanitizing Pan will fit into an area that accommodates 23" width X 42"
depth footprint and will hook-up to your existing, standard hot/cold water lines and wall drain for the
handwasher. However, in addition, you will need a floor drain for the boot pan. A more detailed
description of the installation procedure can be found in the Installation Guide of this manual.
The CleanTech 4000S w/ Boot Sanitizing Pan will fit into an area that accommodates 60” width x 42”
depth foot print and will hook-up to your existing, standard hot/cold water lines and wall drain for the
handwasher. In addition, you will need a floor drain for the boot pans. A more detailed description of
the installation procedure can be found in the Installation guide of this manual.
Select an area for installation that is level and encourages frequent use in your facility. We recommend
positioning the CleanTech system either near the main work area, lunch facilities, restroom facilities, or
close to the entrance and exit doors.

Overview
The Meritech CleanTech 2000S & 4000S system with Boot Sanitizing Pan provides a means of washing
hands and sanitizing boots at the same time for your employees. At the completion of every
handwash cycle, the system replenishes the boot sanitizing pan with additional hard surface sanitizer
to keep the PPM at a high, consistent level. The PPM of the solution is controlled between 800 –
1000 PPM of the Meritech Self-Cleaning A-1 solution.
Features:
•Quick water inlet disconnect for cleaning
•2 –simple slide-on drain hoses for the floor drain
•Sloped ramps for safety
•Highly visible caution markings for safety
•Equipped with an easy re-prime button to refill the pan after cleaning or startup.
•Interior rubber footwear mat available in various heights to control water depth:
o5/8” mat will provide 1/8” solution depth (standard street shoe)
o½” mat will provide ¼” solution depth.
o3/8” mat will provide 3/8” solution depth.
Unless otherwise specified, systems will ship with the 5/8” mat to accommodate laced/street shoes,

Facility Installation Instructions/Requirements
The CleanTech 2000S system should be installed per the instructions within its separate installation /
operation manual. This manual gives detailed instructions on the installation, operation, & cleaning
of the Boot Sanitizing Pan. Do not hardwire the system electrical cord without having a way to
disconnect the system from electrical source for future serviceability of the system. A floor drain is
required for the Boot Sanitizing Pan to function properly. Do not hard pipe the drain fittings as this
prevents easy removal and cleaning of the pan.
1. Install the 2000S system per its installation instructions.
2. Unpack the boot pan and place in front of the 2000S per the photo below.
3. Make certain that the pan is sitting level and does not rock.
4. Pull the pan away from the system and attach the two drain hoses, one to each of the ¾” male
pipe threads on the back of the pan drain box. See photos below, on next page.

8
5. Take the water supply line and connect to the fitting on the bottom left side of the system.
See photos below. Make certain the supply line is pushed at lease 3/8” – ½’ in to the fitting.
6. Take the opposite end of the supply line and attach it to the pan manifold. See photo on next
page.

9
7. Push the Boot Sanitizing Pan into the system, making certain the 2 tabs are on the inside legs
of the CleanTech 2000S system. See Photo Below.
8. Once pan is in place make certain the 2 drain hoses are directed towards the floor drain, and
that they are flat to prevent the pan from overflow
ing.
Consult local and national codes: conformity and compliance to local and national codes is the
responsibility of the installer.
The CleanTech 4000S system should be installed per the instructions within its separate installation /
operation manual. This manual gives detailed instruction on the installation, operation, & cleaning of
the Boot Sanitizing Pan.
The 4000S Boot Sanitizing Pan install is done in the same manner as the 2000S instructions listed
above, just that there are 3 independent pans. There is a left, center, & right pan. The left and right
are easily distinguished as they have a sloped ramp respectfully on the left and right sides of the pan.
See photo on page 6 of this manual.

First Time Start Up & Operation
Once the CleanTech 2000S or 4000S system is installed with the Boot Sanitizing Pan(s) and are fully
functional, follow the steps below to prime the pan for the first time and subsequently after each
time the pan is cleaned. (This process will have to be performed for each of the 3 bays on the
CleanTech 4000S system.)
1. Once the UP 2% hand soap and the Self-Clean is installed, go to step 2. See Photo below.
2. Locate the Prime button located just above the Self-Clean container, inside the solutions
housing. See photo below.
3. Press and hold the prime button for 20 seconds, allowing the water and the Self-Clean
solution to fill the pan to its normal water height based on the mat purchased.
4. Using a Quat test stripe (0-1000 ppm), check the concentration of the pan. The concentration
in the pan should be 800-1000 PPM.
5. The CleanTech system with the boot pan is then ready for use.
6. Once hands are placed into the cylinders, the handwash cycle will initiate.
7. Once the 12-second handwash cycle is complete, the water will stop in the handwashing
cylinders and hands can be removed at that time.
8. The system will then inject a small amount of water and the Self-Clean solution into the pan to
replenishing the Boot Sanitizing Pan. This will occur at the end of each handwash cycle.

Cycle Time / Calibration
To adjust cycle time and calibration of the system, please contact Meritech customer service for
assistance. Please refer to “Contacting Meritech” in this manual.
System Cleaning
Depending on the environment that the system is installed, the type or frequency of use, and/or the
types of soils being removed from the boots, will determine the frequency and the type of cleaning
the system should endure. The cleaning process should also be documented within your HAACP or
SSOP procedures and/or per your company’s internal procedures.
Meritech recommends daily cleaning of the system, as well as the Boot Sanitizing Pan. Please refer to
the CleanTech Maintenance Manual or request the specific cleaning instructions from Meritech
customer service.
Boot Sanitizing Pan Cleaning Instructions:
1. Carefully and slowly lift the Boot Sanitizing Pan to drain the water from the pan. See photo
below.
2. Hold the pan up at a 30°angle for approximately 15 seconds.
3. Once drained - pull pan forward and disconnect the supply line by pushing the silver button.
See photo below.

13
4. Disconnect the 2 drain hoses. See photo above.
5. Pan can now be removed from system and cleaned.
6. Remove boot mat and hose down to remove soils and debris.
7. Hose down entire inside top, bottom, sides, and pan drain to remove soils and debris.
Depending on soils encountered in the facility, degreasers or other chemicals may need to be
used on the pan to keep it clean and to remove or prevent biofilms.
8. Sanitize all pan surfaces and follow standard sanitizing chemical instructions.
9. Once the cleaning procedure has been completed per the instructions above, re-assemble the
pan per the instructions in this manual.
10. Re-prime the pan per the instructions in this manual.
11. Inspect and clean water inlet fittings as needed.
