Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive for electromag-
netic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the low voltage
directive 73/23/EEC.
The unit uses lethal mains voltage (230V~). In order
to prevent a shock hazard, do not open it. Leave
servicing to authorized, skilled personnel only.
Moreover, any guarantee claim expires if the unit
has been opened.
For operation always observe the following items:
●The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient tem-
perature range 0–40°C).
●The heat being generated in the unit is carried off by
the heat sink at the rear side of the cabinet. There-
fore, do not cover it. Do not place the cabinets
directly at a wall; keep a corresponding distance.
●Do not set the unit into operation, and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by authorized,
skilled personnel.
●Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by
means of the mains cable.
●For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
●If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated in the wrong way or not
repaired by authorized, skilled personnel, there is no
liability for possible damage.
●If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
bring them to a local recycling plant for disposal.
●Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth; blue = neutral; brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter Eor by the earth symbol ,
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter Nor coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter Lor coloured red.
Warning
-
This appliance must be earthed.
Setting into Operation
1) Connect the signal source (mixer, preamplifier, etc.)
to the input.
a Allmodels except TPR-12SA: Connect one chan-
nel to the XLR jack (5) or the 6,3 mm jack (6).
b Model TPR-12SA: Connect both stereo channels
to jacks L IN R (9).
The jacks are provided for balanced signals, the pin
configuration is as follows:
If unbalanced signals are
connected, always connect
the contact of the signal

to ground. This can be
made by using correspond-
ing adapters.
2) Feed-through output (not for TPR-12SA):
The jack which is not connected (5 or 6) can be
used as feed-through output for parallel connection
of a further active speaker system.
3) Satellite speaker systems (only for TPR-12SA):
Connect two active satellite speaker systems to
both jacks L OUT R (10).
4) Connect the speaker system via the supplied mains
connection cable to a mains socket (230V~/50Hz).
5) Prior to switching on turn control VOLUME (8) to
position “0”. Only then switch on the unit with switch
POWER (1).
6) Adjust the volume with control VOLUME. The LED
(7) lights in the rhythm of the input signal. In case of
red LED light, the signal is limited.
7) If a hum should occur (e.g. due to a ground loop),
the optimum setting can be found by pressing and
releasing the earthing switch (4).
