Introduction
CompliantwithIEEE802.11g,the Wireless 11g +Bluetooth
ComboPCICard-MSIDUALNETCARD isahigh-efficiency
device forwireless networkingathome, inoffice orinpublic
places.Thedataratecanbeup to54Mbpsandauto-negotiated
to48, 36,24, 18, 12,9,6Mbps(IEEE802.11g),or11, 5.5,2,
1Mbps(IEEE802.11b).WithDUALNETCARD, youcanroam
betweenconferenceroomandoffice withoutbeingdisconnected
theLANcables;inaddition, sharingfiles andprinters canbe easy
tasks.
DUALNETCARD isalsoabluetoothdevice, whichcanserve as
atransmitterwhenyou areestablishing aBluetoothconnection.
It isthe solution fortheseamlessintegrationof Bluetoothtech-
nologyintopersonalcomputers,enablingshort-rangewireless
connectionsbetween desktop/notebook PCs, Bluetooth-enabled
peripheraldevices (suchasprinters, faxes, etc), portablehandheld
devices,andconnectivitytotheInternet.
DUALNETCARDisavailabletoMicrosoftWindowsoperat-
ingsystems(Windows®XP/2000/ME) andcanbe integrated into
networkingwitheither Ad-hocmode (computer-to-computer,
withoutanAccess Point) or Infrastructure mode (computer-
to-accesspoint,anAccessPointisrequired).

Ad-hocMode : AnAd-hocnetworkisalocalareanetworkor

plug-inconnections, inwhich someof the networkdevicesare
partofthenetworkonlyfor thedurationofacommunications
session.Usersinthenetworkcansharefiles,print toashared
printer,andaccess the Internetwithasharedmodem.Inthis
kindofnetwork,newdevices canbe quicklyadded;however,

InfrastructureMode: The differencebetween Infrastructure
networkand Ad-hocnetworkisthat theformeroneincludesan
Access Point. InanInfrastructurenetwork, theAccessPointcan
manage thebandwidthtomaximizebandwidthutilization.Addi-
tionally,the AccessPointenablesusers onawireless LANto
access anexistingwirednetwork, allowing wireless users totake
advantage ofthewired networksresources,suchasInternet,
email, filetransfer, andprinter sharing. Thescaleandrange of the
Infrastructurenetworkingarelarger andwiderthanthatofthe
Ad-hocnetworking.
