Wireless11gMiniPCICard embedded inside,asystemcould
provide users withtheabilityandflexibilitytoconnectupto
Internetwirelesslyvia 802.11g withspeed upto54Mbps.
MSIMP54G5Wireless11gMiniPCICard istakingadvan-
tage ofleading technologies fromRalink.ItaddressesWLAN
(WirelessLocalAreaNetwork) marketsbyprovidingtruesimul-
taneousconnectivitywhiledeployingIEEE 802.11g. Alongwith
thissolution, asysteminstalledinasinglecardisabletooffer
capabilityofWiFimode. It willbenefit systemvendorsinmin-

HardwareInstallation
1. Locatethe MiniPCIslotonthe mainboard.Placeyour
MSIMP54G5Wireless11gMiniPCICard over the
MiniPCIslot(atanangleof30 degrees). Then,gently
insertit intotheslot untilthegoldenfingerofthe card
getsfullyinserted.
2. Press downthecard,andtheretainingclips(ontwo
sidesoftheslot) willlockontothenotchesof the card.
3. Connect theattenna’scabletotheconnector onthecard.
The followingdiagramsprovideyouabasicinstallationfor your
MSIMP54G5Wireless11gMiniPCICard.The instruction
belowissuitableformostcomputers withMiniPCIslot.For
moreinformationabouttheMiniPCImodule,please referto
yourcomputer’smanual.

Thischapterdescribestheprocedures ofinstallingthedriver
andutility. Followtheinstruction stepbysteptofinishthe
installation.IfyouuseWindows®98SE/ME,please prepare
theWindows®Setup CDathandbeforeinstallingthedriver;
becausethe systemwillaskyou toinsert the Setup CDtocopy
filesduringthe installation.
Please NOTE thatthe MSIMP54G5Wireless11gMiniPCI
Card shouldbeinstalledintoyourcomputer beforeinstalling
the driverandutility.Then, theoperatingsystemwilldetecta
newdeviceandstarttoconfigurethenewdevice.Click Cancel
heretostart installation fromthe InstallShieldWizard.

toyourcomputerand then turning onthe computer, the operat-
ingsystemwill detectanewdevice andstarttheconfiguraton
automatically.Please CANCEL thepop-upwindowfrom
FoundNewHardareWizard toinstallnecessarydriverand
utilityfromthe InstallShieldWizard of yourSoftwareCD.
Insertthe SoftwareCDintoyourCD-ROMdriver,and the
Setupprogramshalllaunchautomatically.
Ifthe Autorunprogramdidn tlaunchautomatically, click Start
atthetaskbarand select Run....Type E:\setup.exe (where Eis
yourCD-drive) inthe Open box andclick OK tolaunch the
Setupprogrammanually.

communicationtostartworkinginyournetworkenvironment.

- TheAccess Pointmustbeturnedon.
- Your computerwithwireless adapterinstalledand the
AccessPoint mustbe locatedwiththe communication
rangeoftheAccessPoint(see theAccessPoint's
