Ifyou haveaWirelessPCI Card(PC54G3)
First,confirmthatthesystem isturnedoff.Removethecomputer scaseto
locatetheavailablePCI slotonthemotherboard.InserttheWireless PCI
Cardintotheslotfirmly; then,secureit withthebracket screw.Replace the
coverandconnecttheexternalantenna.
If youarenotskilledatinstallingtheWirelessPCICard,pleaseaskthe
vendororanexperiencedtechnicianforhelp.

Afterinstalling theWireless PCICardtoyourcomputerand thenturningon
thecomputer,theoperatingsystem willdetectanewdevice and startthe
configurationautomatically.Please CANCEL thepop-up windowofthe
system sFoundNewHardwareWizardtoinstall therequireddriverand
utilityfrom InstallShieldWizard ofyourSoftwareCD.
InserttheSoftwareCDintoyourCD-ROMdrive,and theSetupprogram
shouldlaunchautomatically.
If theAuto-runprogram doesnotlaunchautomatically,click Start atthe
taskbarandselect Run....Type E:\setup.exe (where E isyourCDROM
drive)inthe Open boxandclick OK tolaunchtheSetupprogrammanually.
ThemainscreenofSetupprogramwill appearasbelow.Clickthe Install
Software button.
ThewelcomescreenofInstallShieldWizardappears.
Readand Accept theLicenseAgreement; then,click Yes.
Theprogramwill copythenecessaryfilestothesystem.Theprogress
indicatorshallshowtheinstallingstatus.
Click Finish whentheinstallationiscompleted.
The MSIWireless LAN iconwillappearinthe
statusarea.

Afterinstalling thesoftware,the MSIWireless PCI Card offersyouwitha
convenientand powerfulutilitythatallowsyoutosetup,configure,and
knowyournetworkingstatuseasilyandclearly.
Your MSIWireless PCI Card canbeusedbytwonetworkingmodes:
Infrastructure mode and Ad-hocmode.
Infrastructure Mode allowsyourcomputertocommunicatewiththeother
computersinthenetworkthroughanAccess Point.
ToconnecttheAccessPoint:
1. ClicktheMSIWirelessLANicontobringupthe MSIWireless
Utility window.
2. Inthetabof SiteSurvey,select thenetworkyouwant,andthenclick
Connect.

3. If theAccessPointselectedtoconnecthasbeenconnectedandhadset
uptheAuthenticationandSecurity,youneedtohavetheWPA
Pre-sharedKeyorWEPKeybeforehandfromtheAccessPoint
administratortoenterintheblank. Thenclick OK tocompletethe
configuration.
Ad-hocMode allowsyourcomputertocommunicatedirectlywithany
computerinstalledwithcompatiblewirelessadapter.
Tobuildthe Ad-hoc network:
1. ClicktheMSIWirelessLANicontobringupthe MSIWireless
Utility window.Then,click Profile tab.

ToenabletheSoftwareAP,right-clicktheMSIWirelessLANicon, and
select “SwitchtoAPmode”.TheMSIWirelessLANiconshallchangeto
MSISoftwareAPicon.
Step1: Settingthe SSID
SSID(ServiceSet

designatedforaspecific
wireless localarea
network(WLAN).
Step2: Settingthe Channel
Channel1 isthedefault
value.Pleasenotethat
all devicesonthenetwork
mustsharethesame
channel.
Step3: Settingthe
Authentication and Encryption
Clickthebutton Authvs.Security”toselectthe Authentication
Type, EncryptionType,
and setupthe WPA
Pre-sharedKey.
If youselect the Open as
yourAuthenticationtype
and the WEP asyour
Encryptiontype,youhave
tosetuptheWEPKeyfor
yourneeds. Thenclick OK
and backtoabovescreen
toclick Apply tocomplete
theconfiguration.
