Battery

,rinse eyesimmediatelywithplenty of water,
thencontact thenearest doctororhospitalandseek medical
attention.
Thebattery containsacidsthatcan causeinjuryto theeyesand
skin. To avoideyeirritation,
always
wear safetyglassesorface
shielding. Use well insulated gloves when picking the battery
up. Use the following guidelines when handling the battery.

Use chock-blocks at each wheel when parked to prevent
trailerfromrolling.
■
Use the trailer's swivel jack to adjust the trailer height to a
level position while parked.
■
Avoidsudden stops andstarts. Thiscan cause thetrailerto
skid or jack-knife. Smooth, gradual starts and stops will
improvetowing.
■
Avoidsharp turns.
■
Trailer should be adjusted to a level position at all times
whentowing.
■
Raiseandlock trailer wheelstandin the "UP"positionwhen
transporting.
■
DOTrequirementsincludethefollowing:
Connectandtest electric brake operation.
Secureportablepowercablesincable tray with tie wraps.
■
DO NOT drop the battery. Any impact to
thebatterymay cause ittoexplode.
■
DONOTexposethebatterytoopenflames,
sparks, lit cigarettes etc. The battery
containscombustible gases andliquids. If
these gases and liquids come in contact
withaflameorsparkanexplosioncanoccur.
■
ALWAYS keepthebattery charged. If the
batteryisnotchargedabuildupofcombustiblegaswilloccur.
■
ALWAYS keep battery cables in good working condition.
Repair or replace all worn cables.
■
ALWAYS disconnectthe
negative battery terminal
before
performingserviceon the trowel.
■
ALWAYS recharge the battery in a vented air environment
to avoid risk of a dangerous concentration of combustible
gases.
Towing Safety Precautions

Towing Regulations
before transporting trowel on public
roads.
To reduce the possibility of an accident while transporting the
trowelonpublicroads,alwaysmakesurethetrailerthatsupports
thetrowelandthetowingvehicleareingoodoperatingcondition
andbothunitsaremechanically sound.
Transporting
■
ALWAYS shutdown engine before transporting.
■
Tighten fuel tank cap securely and close fuel petcock to
preventfuelfromspilling.
■
Drainfuelwhentransportingtrowelforlongdistancesor over
badroads.
■
Whenplacingthe trowelona truck-bedfortransport,
always
tie-downthe trowel.
■
Ifthetrowel is being transported via a trailer, makesure the
trailercomplieswithall local and state safetytransportation
laws. Refer to the following "
Towing Safety Precautions"
forbasic towing techniques.
The following list of suggestions should be used when towing
yourtrowel:
■
Make sure the hitch and coupling of the towing vehicle are
ratedequalto,orgreaterthanthetrailer"grossvehicleweight
rating"(GVWR)of 6,000 lbs.
■
ALWAYS inspect the hitch and coupling for wear. NEVER
towatrailer with defective hitches,couplings,chains, etc.
■
Checkthetire airpressureon bothtowingvehicleand trailer.
Trailer tires should be inflated to 50 psi cold
. Alsocheck
thetiretreadwear on both vehicles.
■
ALWAYS make sure the trailer is equipped with "Safety
Chains ".
■
ALWAYS attach trailer's safety chains to towing vehicle
properly.
■
ALWAYS make sure the vehicle and trailer directional,
backup,brake,and trailer lights areconnectedandworking
■
DO NOT exceed the recommended highway speed when
towing. Unless posted otherwise, do not exceed 45 MPH
highway,and 10 MPH off-road.
