This product has been manufactured according to the safety requirements of "Equipment» 2006/42/EC and Legislative
Decree no. 17/2010 and subsequent updates, and respond to Technical Standards Harmonized applicable to the
product.
This manual for use and maintenance is intended to serve as a guide and contains all the practical information for
operation, registration and maintenance of your new product "SUNFLOWERS HEADER".
The product has been designed and engineered to ensure maximum performance, and has been checked before
commissioning the factory to ensure the perfect conditions operational.
To keep the machine in perfect condition and to ensure a smoothly working , it is essential that the periodic maintenance
operations are carried out respecting the intervals.
Before tos tart or work with the machine, read this manual carefully, with particular attention to the section dealing with
safety rules, and keep it always at hand for future reference.

01 INTRODUCTION
01.01 Introduction
This manual is intended to serve as a guide and contains, in addition to technical description of the machine, all the
information (instructions, technical diagrams, drawings, photo) useful for transport, installation, assembly /
disassembly, commissioning, service, operation, maintenance and cleaning your SUNFLOWER HEADER.
The operator / operators has / have the duty and responsibility of know and apply it.
Your machine has been designed and built to ensure maximum performance, comfort and easy work in all conditions.
The SUNFLOWER HEADER has been checked before delivery both in the factory and by your dealer to ensure that it is
delivered in perfect condition.
Before operating your machine, carefully read this manual with particular attention to the section dealing with
safety rules, and keep it always reachable for all operators that have to, in various ways, interact with the
machine.
The "left" and "right" are always referred to the travel direction of the machine.
Safety and use of the machines is guaranteed only for the functions and materials listed in this manual and the company
Pegaso Srl declines all responsibility if the machine is used for purposes that do not comply with the instructions for use.
The certificate of conformity is provided when the machine is delivered.
To keep the machine in perfect condition, it is necessary to respect the frequance of routine maintenance outlined in this
manual.
Pictures or illustrations in this manual can eventually shown the machine partially disassembled or with some safety
devises partially disassembled or removed:
Caution! The SUNFLOWER HEADER should never be used in such conditions!
For your safety, make sure that all guards are closed or assembled correctly and that the safety devices are in good
condition.
Never use spare parts that are not original and / or different from those prescribed by the
manufacturer. The installation and / or use of components "not-original" could have negative effects on the design
characteristics of the machine with the possibility of compromising safety
in operation and / or functionality.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by spare parts and accessories "not original ".
Any unauthorized modification of parts operated by the final user automatically cancel the warranty and raises
PEGASO S.R.L. from any responsibility.
In this case the user will be the only responsible for prevention of accidents.

·Be sure that operators and maintenance personnel are trained and informed about the contents of the manual
before putting the machine into operation or execution of maintenance.
· A copy of this manual must be situated in an accessible place, always available for consultation. Keep this manual
for the entire period of the life of the machine.
· The parts with mechanical stress such as twisting, stretching, rotation, especially belts, pulleys, couplings, hoses,
hoses should be checked regularly, must be free of defects and, if necessary, replaced according to the
instructions the manual of the machine.
· Ensure that all protection are closed and attached to frame of the machine.
· In the event of a prolonged stop of the machine, follow all procedures and precautions listed on the manual.
· After a prolonged period of inactivity check the conservation status of the components in accordance with
standards given by the producer.
· Before the re-start the machine it is important to check the conservation of the processing elements, components,
elements for transmission, and if not appropriate replace them.
· Do not remove the license plates or any other decal installed on the machine. Make sure the plates are always
visible from the staff to control the operation of the machine.
It is forbidden any kind of reproduction, even partial, of this publication without the written consent of the company
Pegaso Srl.
CHANGESAND IMPROVEMENTS
The PEGASO S.r.l. looks to a constant improvement of its products and reserves the right to make changes in ways and
times that it considers necessary, without obligation for his part to carry them out on the machines previously sold.
01.02 WARRANTY CONDITIONS
Your SUNFLOWER HEADER is designed and built following the laws in force in your country and guaranteed according
to the contractual arrangements of the sale with the dealer. If you call directly the manufacturer, the warranty is valid only
if accompanied by fiscal documents (DDT and invoice), so this documentation must be preserved and exhibited in the
event of a claim under this warranty.
The machines are guaranteed for the months after the date of delivery.
The parts found defective will be replaced with a charge of transport costs.
The guarantee is not applicable in the event that:
1. The sunflower header is used in an improper way.
2. Settings and maintenance were not performed according to the instructions in this manual.
3. Maintenance and / or repairs are performed by unauthorized personnel and therefore not qualified.
4. The causes are charged to transport for third parties.
5. Any anomalies caused by the use of parts or accessories "Not-original".
NOTE: The guarantee does not cover any kind of compromise for damages,
loss of earnings and any direct and / or indirect damages.

01.03 Safety requirements
No accident prevention program can be successfull without a complete cooperation of the people who are directly
responsible for the use of the machine.
Most accidents can be avoided by compliance with certain simple safety measures.
It is established that the "best security system" is the operator careful fulfillment of rules on prevention to maintain the
machine.
The safety instructions contained in this manual supplement do not replace the safety rules in force in the country where
the machine is used.
01.03.1 Symbols and messages
Preparing this manual a particular symbology has been used to keep the reader's attention:
WARNING: it denotes working procedures forbidden because very risky; this simbol
is used in the manual every time is evaluated as the safety of the operator is
concerned (failures in following instructions marked with this symbol may cause
serious injury or even death).
IMPORTANT: it denotes procedures to be performed carefully to avoid potentially
dangerous situations that can cause damage to machine.
NOTE: shows the operator the correct procedures to follow.

01.03.2 General requirements
Most accidents can be avoided by observing some elemental standards of safety:
· If you need to install or remove some parts of the machine, use only lifting and transport machines according to the
weight and characteristics of the machine you need to move. Lifting points of hook are indicated by specific decals
on SUNFLOWER HEADER, as illustrated here.
· The machine must only be used by qualified and trained people.
· Before using the SUNFLOWER HEADER, check that all protection and parts are in theys correct position and
properly secured.
· Do not touch any moving parts when the machine is in motion.
· Before you start the machine control be sure that any other operator is engaged in maintenance operations and / or
control. Operations the machine must be free from objects not necessary for its operation and which can be
coupled from moving parts during operation.
· It is forbidden to remove the mechanical protection and safety systems of the header.
· Before cleaning and / or maintenance of the machine, and before removing any mechanical protection, put in
safety condition the SUNFLOWER HEADER following these instruction:
1. Lower the header to the ground.
2. Stop the engine of the combine, remove the key from the dashboard and wait for the
complete stop.
· Keep the machine clean by removing any materials that could damage the operation or the operator (stones,
pieces of iron, pipes, etc...).
· After each cleaning and / or maintenance operation, ensure that you have all the special or generic tools , the
station work is free from objects that are not necessary for its operation and that can be hooked by moving parts of
the machine.
·The machine must be used by personnel wearing protective devices (eg helmet, shoes, gloves, dust mask), as
expressly stated in the manual of use avoid to wear ties, scarves or any clothing that could become caught in
moving parts.
·Pay attention to the labels on the machine every time preparing to operate on the same or nearby.
·The DECALS installed on the machine must always be kept in goodstate. Clean them regularly and replace them
when necessary, addressing to the Pegaso Srl.

·Always move AWAY the children from the working area of the SUNFLOWER HEADER.
· Do not TRY to pull or push the product in different parts of the SUNFLOWER HEADER by hand if the machine is
running or the engine is running.
· In the event of flooding, before working on the machine to extract or remove the product with his hands, follow this
instructions:
1. Lower the header to the ground.
2. Stop the engine of the combine, remove the key from the dashboard and wait for the complete SUNFLOWER
HEADER stop.
· After each maintenance operation, restore the covers removed before use of the machine.
01.03.3 Ecological considerations
Earth, air and water are the essential elements for life and should be respected.
In cases where the legislation does not regulate the use and disposal of products needed for current technology, follow
all suitable precautions to avoid even mild pollution.
Here are some recommendations that may be helpful:
· Find out about the laws in force in the country in which you operate about and respect them.
· If there are no regulations, ask the dealers on the effects of oil lubricants, detergents, etc... have on people and the
environment, also ask the mode to conserve, use and properly dispose of these products. In most cases, the
agricultural advisers will be able to respond appropriately to your questions.
01.04 Scrapping and waste disposal
When you consider appropriate to scrap your header, you must follow the following general rules:
· Dismantle the machine into its constituent parts. Pay attention to all the operations that involve higher risks such as
disassembly of mechanical parts under tension such springs, torsion shafts, leaf springs, etc.., for which one must
follow procedures necessary to safeguard the health and safety of persons and the integrity of the environment.
· To scrap must respect the regulations in force without losing anything in the environment.
Any irregularity committed by the Customer or final User during and after the scrapping and disposal of the
machine components, interpreting and applying the regulations in force, is the sole responsibility of the same.

This manual for use and maintenance is intended to serve as a guide and contains, in addition to technical description of
the machine, all the information (instructions, technical diagrams, drawings, photo) useful to transportation, installation,
assembly / disassembly, the commissioning, the management, maintenance and cleaning, the scrapping of your
header cannot be totally or partially copied and / or distributed to persons not authorized for competitive purposes, or
disclosed to any other party.

01.06 Spare Parts
The original spare parts have been specially designed for your sunflower header.
Ask at PEGASO S.r.l. or to your authorized dealer for parts supply.
Original Parts give a guarantee of functionality and ensure the best performance.
Never use not original spare parts, some of them require CE guarantee that can be done only by the manufacturer or by
its qualified suppliers.
The spare parts "not-original" have not been checked or authorized by the manufacturer.
The installation and / or use of such products could have an adverse effect on design features of your machine and could
therefore compromise the operational safety.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by "not-original" parts and / or accessories .
It is forbidden to make any changes to the appliance without express written permission of the
manufacturer.
To order spare parts use always quote the model and serial number of your sunflower header (see chapter "Machine
identification" paragraph 04.02).
