1 Preface
Read all product documentaon and product idencaon plate carefully
before installaon, use, and service of this product. Replace documentaon
immediately if lost. Nederman reserves the right, without previous noce, to
modify and improve its products including documentaon.
This product is designed to meet the requirements of relevant EC direcves. To
maintain this status, all installaon, maintenance and repair is to be done by
qualied personnel using only Nederman original spare parts and accessories.
Contact the nearest authorized distributor or Nederman for advice on
technical service and obtaining spare parts. If there are any damaged or
missing parts when the product is delivered, nofy the carrier and the local
Nederman representave immediately.
2 Safety
This document contains important informaon that is presented as either a
warning, cauon or note. See the following examples:

3 Descripon
3.1 Intended use
The fan and lter unit N3 is designed for ltering out smoke- and dust parcles
as well as gases/vapours from solvents.
Applicaon examples:
• Smoke and dust: Soldering, grinding, polishing. For these applicaons the
N3 unit can be used for jobs with low to mediumsized intensity. The N3
unit can also be used for soldering producon jobs.
• Solvents: Gluing, lacquer-work (el.components), cleaning, painng. For
these applicaons the N3 unit can be used for temporary jobs with low
intensity.

4 Installaon
See Figure 1 - 8.
5 Operaon
A speed control controls the extracon capacity by adjusng the speed of the
fan (see Figure 1 - 8).
The fan is equipped with a termal contact which releases at too high
temperature. The contact reverts automacally.
WARNING! Risk of personal damage.
All work with the fan unit must be done with the plug disconnected.
6 Maintenance
6.1 When must the lter unit be replaced?
The disposable lter is not designed to be cleaned. The lter´s eecve life is
directly related to the environment in which it is used and the parcles it is

required to lter away. Normally, however, a lter should have a life of several
months.
The lter unit contains a parcle lter and a carbone lter. A full parcle lter
is indicated by an inadequate sucon capacity. A full carbone lter is indicated
by an increasing odour.
To ensure the lter unit is replaced regularly, mark the the date the lter unit
was brought into use.

6.2 Replacing the lter unit
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
Disconnect the mains supply before replacing the lter unit.
Seal the used lter with the plasc cover supplied with the new lter. Put the
used lter in a plasc bag and obey any regulaons that apply to the disposal
of the captured parcles.
