1 Overview
N77 EVB is designed to commission the N77 module. It provides the power supply interface, USB-to-
Serial interface, USB interface, SIM card interface, antenna interface, startup (PWRKEY_N) button,
download (USB_BOOT) button, and other peripheral interfaces. You can connect it to a power supply
and a computer to commission the module.
N77 EVK provides the following accessories.
⚫N77 EVB (excluding the N77 module)
⚫N77 module
⚫Others (antenna or other accessories)

N77 EVB can only be powered by the external power supply. It uses the Micro-USB cable to perform
data communications. The following provides the power supply methods and communication methods
of the EVB.
3.1 Power Supply Interface
The N77 EVB can be supplied power in two methods:
⚫Connect the power supply interface to an external power source through a 5V power supply
adapter.
⚫Connect the solder pads to a 5V regulated power source through wires.
Note that the output current of the module should be at least 3.0 A.

The power source supplies voltage to the module directly through solder pads. Use a black alligator clip to clamp
the GND solder pad and a red alligator clip to clamp the DC 5V solder pad as shown in the figure above.
Do NOT connect the pads reversely. Otherwise, the module will be burned and cannot be repaired.
3.2 Communication Interfaces
All communication interfaces of N77 EVB use the Micro-USB cable to transmit AT commands.

Communication methods of N77 EVB
⚫Connect the USB interface to your computer; it is used for firmware download and AT
communications.
⚫Connect the USB-to-UART2 interface to your computer; it is used for only AT communications.
⚫Connect the USB-to-UART1 interface to your computer; it is used to capture log messages from
the module.

3.3 Antenna Interfaces
N77 EVB provides a main antenna interface (right) and a diversity antenna interface (left).
Note that the operating frequency bands the antenna supports should cover the bands that N77
supports.
