
Wireless Setup Guide
The following steps will take yo thro gh the process of setting p and connecting to yo r
wireless network. Yo can also se these steps to tro bleshoot wireless connection iss es.
Step 1: Checking Computer Network Settings:
Yo will need to set the network connection on yo r comp ter to obtain an IP address
a tomatically. Please follow the instr ctions appropriate for yo r operating system below:
Below are the instr ctions for setting Windows XP to obtain an IP address a tomatically for
yo r ethernet connection:
1. Click on the St rt Menu, and go to “Control P nel”.
2. Click on “Network Connections”.
(If yo only see "Network nd Internet Connections", open that first, and then click on
"Network Connections".)
3. Right click on “Loc l Are Connection” and select “Properties”.
4. Do ble-click on “Internet Protocol”.
5. Select "Obt in n IP ddress utom tic lly", and "Obt in DNS server
ddress utom tic lly".
6. Click “OK”, and then click “OK” (or “Close”).
Below are the instr ctions for setting Windows Vista to obtain an IP address a tomatically for
yo r ethernet connection:
1. Click on the St rt Menu, and go to “Control P nel”.

Click on “Network nd Sh ring Centre”.
(If yo only see "Network nd Internet", open that first, and then click on "Network nd
Sh ring Centre".)
3. Click on “M n ge network connections” (
on the lefthandside of the window
).
4. Right click on “Loc l Are Connection” and select “Properties”.
5. Do ble-click on “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”.
6. Select "Obt in n IP ddress utom tic lly", and "Obt in DNS server
ddress utom tic lly".
7. Click “OK”, and then click “OK” again.
