Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have
selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are
part of this product. They contain important information on safety,
usage and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself
with all handling and safety guidelines. Use the product only as
described and for the range of applications specified. Please also
pass these operating instructions on to any future owner (s).
Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for personal dental care.
This appliance is intended solely for use in prwivate homes.
The appliance is not intended for use in commercial, industrial
or medical environments. It is not suitable for animal care.

Safety guidelines
■ To avoid damage, do not allow liquids to
penetrate the appliance and do not sub-
merge it in water.
■ Ensure that no foreign objects penetrate the
appliance.
■ In the event of malfunctions or obvious dam-
age, please contact our Customer Service
department.
■ Cleaning and user maintenance should not
be performed by children unless they are
under supervision.

■ Toothbrushes may be used by children and
by persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and/or knowledge if they are supervised
or have been told how to use the appliance
safely and are aware of the potential risks.
■ Children must not use the appliance as a
plaything.
■ The appliance must not come into contact
with hot surfaces. The appliance could be
irreparably damaged!
■ Do not open the appliance (except the
battery compartment) yourself. Risk of injury
if appliance is not properly assembled!
Information on using batteries
Please observe the following when handling
batteries:
WARNING! Mishandling the batteries
can cause fires, explosions, leakages or other
hazards!
■ Keep batteries out of the reach of
children.
■ Make sure that no one can swallow the
batteries.
■ Never try to recharge non-rechargeable
batteries.
■ Remove rechargeable batteries from the
device before recharging them.
■ Do not throw batteries into a fire or
water.
■ Never expose batteries to high temperatures
or direct sunlight.
■ Never open or deform batteries.
■ Do not short-circuit the connection terminals.
■ Do not use different types of batteries
together or mix new batteries with used
batteries.
■ Always ensure that the batteries are
installed in the device with the correctly
aligned polarity.

■ Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not re-
charge batteries. There is a risk of explosion
and injury!
■ Never open batteries and never solder or
weld batteries. There is a risk of explosion
and injury!
■ Check the condition of the batteries at regu-
lar intervals.
Leaking batteries can cause damage to the
appliance.
■ If you do not intend to use the appliance for
an extended period, remove the batteries.
■ Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Children might put batteries into their mouth
and swallow them. If a battery is swallowed,
seek medical assistance immediately.
■ Always use protective gloves when handling
leaking batteries! Clean the battery and
device contacts and the battery compartment
with a dry cloth. Do not let the chemicals
get into contact with your skin and mucous
membranes, especially your eyes. In case of
contact with chemicals, wash the affected
area with plenty of water and immediately
seek medical attention.
■ Batteries must be inserted with the correct
polarity.
■ Always use the stated battery type.
■ Remove depleted batteries from the device
and dispose of them safely.
Operation
NOTE
► Due to the unaccustomed effect of the toothbrush, there
may be some initial gum bleeding. This is normal. If this
continues for more than two weeks, you should consult
your dentist.
■ Remove the battery compartment cover 4from the hand
element 3with a slight tilting movement and insert the
batteries according to the polarity diagram in the battery
compartment. Close the cover of the battery compart-
ment4again.
■ Fit a brush head 1onto the hand element 3.
■ Moisten the brush under flowing water.

■ Add a little toothpaste onto the moist brush and guide the
brush into your mouth.
■ Switch on the toothbrush by pressing the On/Off button 2
and brush your teeth on all sides. Divide your mouth into
four parts (jaw quadrants): upper right, upper left, lower
right and lower left (see fig. A). Start with any quadrant.
■ Every 30 seconds, the toothbrush stops briefly twice to
signal that you should start cleaning the next quadrant.
■ After two minutes, the toothbrush pauses briefly 4 times.
This lets you know that you have cleaned all four quadrants
and complied with the dental recommendation of two minutes
cleaning.
Switch off the toothbrush and rinse the brush head 1
thoroughly under running water.
■ To protect the brush head 1, you can attach the protective
cap 5.
NOTE
► When the toothbrush’s movements become noticeably weaker,
the batteries must be replaced. Open the battery compartment,
remove the empty batteries and insert new batteries. Ensure the
correct polarity and close the battery compartment.
Cleaning and care
■ To clean the drive shaft and the hand element 3, allow a
little water to flow over them. To do this, hold the hand ele-
ment 3so that the drive shaft is pointing downwards. Make
sure that no water gets into the battery compartment.
■ After use, clean the brush head 1thoroughly under running
water.
■ You should fit a new brush head 1after about 3 months, or
when the bristles start to bend outwards.
NOTE
You can order replacement brush heads at any time (see
section "Ordering replacement parts").
You can also use any of the Oral-B* and Nevadent brush
heads currently available on the market.

Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out dustbin means
that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU.
This directive states that this appliance may not be
disposed of in the normal household waste at the
end of its useful life, but must be taken to specially set-up
collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.
The disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect
the environment and dispose of this appliance
properly.
If your old appliance has stored any personal data, you are
responsible for deleting it yourself before returning it.

If it is possible to do so without destroying the old appliance,
remove the old batteries or rechargeable batteries before retur-
ning the appliance for disposal and take them to a separate col-
lection point. In the case of permanently installed rechargeable
batteries, you must indicate during disposal that the appliance
contains a battery.
Your local community or municipal authorities can
provide information on how to dispose of the
worn-out product.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging materials have been selected for
their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal
and are therefore recyclable. Dispose of packaging
materials that are no longer needed in accordance
with applicable local regulations.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally
friendly manner. Note the labelling on the packaging
and separate the packaging material components
for disposal, if necessary. The packaging material is
labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b)
with the following meanings: 1–7: plastics,
20–22: paper and cardboard, 80–98:composites.
Disposal of batteries
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be treated as
hazardous waste and must therefore be disposed of
in an environmentally sound manner by appropriate
bodies (dealers, specialist dealers, public municipal
bodies, commercial disposal companies). Batteries/
rechargeable batteries may contain toxic heavy metals.
The heavy metals contained are identified by letters below the
symbol: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead.
For this reason, do not dispose of batteries/rechargeable batter-
ies in domestic waste. Take them to a specialist collection point.
Only return batteries that are fully discharged.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of pur-
chase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain
statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any
way by the warranty described below.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep
your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of
purchase.
If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years
of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or
replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at
our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present
the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt)
within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written
description of the fault and of when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either
be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a
product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected
under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired
components. Any damage and defects present at the time
of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking.
Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be
subject to a fee.
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict
quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The
warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal
wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as
consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of
glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged,
improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the
operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of
the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are
discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned
against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for
commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in
cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifi-
cations/repairs which have not been carried out by one of our
authorised Service centres.
