SAFETY FEATURES
OVERHEAD SHUT-OFF PROTECTION SYSTEM: Your heater includes a protection
system that shuts off the heater if it overheats for any reason.
ENVIRONMENT AIR OVERHEAT PROTECTION SYSTEM: This heater will
automatically shut off if the environment air becomes overheated.

SAFETY INFORMATION & WARNINGS
When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions
must be followed in order to reduce the risk of fire, electrical
shock and/or injury to persons or property. Be sure to read all
instructions before using this appliance and observe the
following safety tips:
This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch
hot surfaces. Use the handles when moving the unit. Keep combustible
materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains
at least 3 ft. (0.9 meters) from the front and top of the heater and keep
them away from the sides and rear. Keep the rear grille away from walls or
drapes so as not to block the air intake.
Extreme care and supervision are necessary when heater is used near
children or pets and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
Always unplug heater when not in use.
Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug, after the heater
malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the
heater to an authorized service facility for examination, electrical or
mechanical adjustment, or repair.
Do not use outdoors.
This heater is not intended for use in any area where there is standing
water. Never locate the heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other
water container.
Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs,
runners, or similar items. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances.
Arrange cord away from high traffic areas where it will not be tripped over.
To disconnect the heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove the plug from
the outlet.
Connect to properly polarized outlets only.
Do no insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust
opening as this may cause electric shock, fire or damage to the heater.
To prevent possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner.
Do not use on soft surfaces like a bed, where openings may become
blocked.

SAFETY INFORMATION & WARNINGS
A heater has hot, or arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas
where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored.
Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not
recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, injury to
persons, or other damage to property.
To prevent overload and blown fuses, be sure that no other appliance is
plugged into the same outlet or into another outlet wired into the same
circuit.
It is normal for the heater’s plug and cord to feel warm to the touch. A plug
or cord which becomes hot to the touch or becomes distorted in shape
may be a result of a worn electrical outlet. Worn outlets or receptacles
should be replaced prior to further use of the heater. Plugging heater into
a work outlet may result in overheating of the power cord or fire.
Ensure the heater is on a stable, secure surface to eliminate the potential
of tipping it over.
Be sure that the plug is fully inserted into appropriate outlet. Please
remember that outlets also deteriorate due to aging and continuous use:
check periodically for signs of overheating or deformation of the plug. Do
not use the outlet and call your electrician.
Make sure that no pieces of polystyrene or other packaging material have
been left between elements of the appliance. It may be necessary to pass
over the appliance with a vacuum cleaner.
Always plug heater directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an
extension cord or relocate-able power tap (outlet/power strip).
CAUTION: This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
CAUTION: To prevent electric shock, match wide blade of plug to
wide slot, fully insert.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
SET-UP
Place the heater on a stable, secure surface, at least 3 feet away from curtains,
furniture, bedding or other combustible materials.
For best results, place the heater beneath a window to encourage hot air to
circulate more quickly through your room.
Plug directly into a 120 V AC, 60 Hz outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TURNING UNIT ON/OFF
1. Press the POWER button (F) once and turn the Mode
Rotary Knob (H) once: the heater will be at the low
output setting and the “LOW” indicator light will
come on. At this setting, the heater output is 750
watts.
2. Press the POWER button again to turn heater off.
SELECT WORKING MODE
Select the mode by turning the Mode Rotary Knob (H):
LOW mode: heater will work continuously and the
output will be 750 W at all times.
HIGH mode: heater will work continuously and the
output will be 1500 W at all times.

COMFORT SETTING MODE
Rotate mode knob to your desired temperature. There are three distinct
settings: 64°F, 70°F, and 75°F. In this mode, the heater will automatically select
the output power to accommodate your temperature setting. When the room’s
air temperature reaches your desired temperature, the unit will automatically
lower the output power to maintain your space at the desired temperature.
When the room temperature is less than the selected temperature:
output power is 1500 W at all times.
When the room temperature is 0 to 2 degrees higher than the
selected temperature: output power changes from 1500W to 750 W.
When the room temperature is 2 degrees or more higher than the
selected temperature: heater will stop heating
AUTO-OFF TIMER
When the heater is in use, you can set the timer for
turning off the unit. Press the TIMER INCREASE
button (E) and TIMER DECREASE button (G) to set the
timer between 0.5 and 7.5 hours in 0.5 hour
intervals. When the time runs out, the heater will turn off automatically.
OPERATIONAL NOTE
When switching the heater on for the first time, it is normal to observe any of
the following:
An unpleasant smell
Small cracking sounds
Traces of visible smoke
This is normal for new components. Run the heater on high for 2 hours in a
well-ventilated area to eliminate any left-over residue.
If the effects last longer than two hours, turn the heater off, unplug it, and
contact Customer Service for support.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Before any cleaning, make sure that:
1. Heater is turned OFF
2. Power supply is disconnected by removing plug from power outlet.
Regular cleaning:
1. Interior dust can often be removed by using a vacuum cleaner with a
crevice tool attachment.
2. Do not spray cleaning liquid or other chemicals on the unit.
3. To clean enclosure, use a clean, soft, and damp cloth to gently wipe
off the dirt from the surface of the unit. Be sure not to wet the heating
element and control panel. Allow the unit to dry completely before
using it.
CAUTION: Do not allow water to run into the interior of
the heater as this could create a fire or electric shock
hazard.
STORAGE
1. Perform the cleaning procedures described in “Cleaning &
Maintenance” above.
2. Wipe all parts dry.
3. Pack the heater in the original packaging or in a plastic bag, and store
it in a cool, dry place.
WARNING: Any other service must be performed by an
authorized service representative. Do not attempt to
service the unit yourself.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Possible Cause
Solution
Unit is not
heating.
Overheat protection
has temporarily
deactivated.
Turn the heater OFF; unplug it and
ALLOW IT TO COOL. Inspect and
remove any objects on or adjacent
to the heater. Wait 30 minutes
before plugging the unit back in.
Room temperature
has been warmed up
to the thermostat
setting.
To increase the room temperature,
adjust MODE control knob to a
higher setting by turning clockwise.
Heater is not plugged
into a 120V grounded
outlet/receptacle.
Ensure unit is in OFF position. Plug
in unit and attempt to turn on
again.
Breaker/Fuse has
been tripped.
Check your electrical box to confirm
the breaker has not been blown.
This may occur if the receptacle is
shared between other high
consumption appliances.
The heater is
producing a
burning smell.
A drop of oil fell on
the heating coil
during the
manufacturing
process.
It will quickly evaporate and should
not occur again. Ensure room in
which heater is situation is well
ventilated.
Heater is too close to
combustible
materials.
Check to ensure there are no
combustible materials within 3 feet
(0.9 meters) surrounding the
heater. Remove any combustible
items from the heater.
Heater is too close to
a wall.
Ensure a minimum clearance of 5.5
inches (14 cm) from both sides and
rear of the heater to adjacent walls.
Please do not attempt to open or repair the heater yourself.
Doing so could cause damage or personal injury.

LIMITED MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY
This appliance is covered by a limited manufacturer’s warranty. For one year
from the original date of purchase, the manufacturer will repair or replace any
parts of this appliance that prove to be defective in materials and
workmanship, provided the appliance has been used under normal operating
conditions as intended by the manufacturer.
Warranty Terms:
During the first year, any components of this appliance found to be defective
due to materials or workmanship will be repaired or replaced, at the
manufacturer’s discretion, at no charge to the original purchaser. The
purchaser will be responsible for any removal or transportation costs.
Warranty Exclusions:
The warranty will not apply if damage is caused by any of the following:
Power failure
Damage in transit or when moving the appliance
Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective household
wiring or inadequate fuses
Accident, alteration, misuse or abuse of the appliance such as using
non-approved accessories, inadequate air circulation in the room or
abnormal operating conditions (extreme temperatures)
Use in commercial or industrial applications
Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility or acts of God such as
hurricanes, floods, etc.
Use of force or damage caused by external influences
Partially or completely dismantled appliances
Excess wear and tear by the user
Obtaining Service:
When making a warranty claim, please have the original bill of purchase with
purchase date available. Once confirmed that your appliance is eligible for
warranty service, all repairs will be performed by a NewAir™ authorized repair
facility. The purchaser will be responsible for any removal or transportation
costs. Replacement parts and/or units will be new, re-manufactured or
refurbished and is subject to the manufacturer’s discretion. For technical
