•Donotcheckorllfueltanks,accumulatorbatteries,norusestartingliquidwhensmokingornearnakedames,
astheseuidsareinammable.
•Brakesareinoperativewhenmanuallyreleasedforrepairormaintenancepurposes:useblocksorsimilardevices
tocontrolthemachineintheseconditions.
•Thefuelnozzleshouldalwaysbeincontactwiththellingaperture:maintainthiscontactuntilthefuelstopsowing
intothetanktoavoidpossiblesparksduetostaticelectricitybuild-up.
•Onlyusespeciedtowingpointsfortowingthevehicle.Connectpartscarefully:makesurethatallpinsand/or
locksaresecuredinpositionbeforeapplyingtraction.Neverremainnearthetowingbars,cablesorchainsthatare
operatingunderload.
•Transportvehiclesthatcannotbedrivenusingatraileroralow-loadingplatformtrolley,ifavailable.
•Whenloadingorunloadingthevehiclefromthetrailer(orothermeansoftransport),selectaatareacapableof
sustainingthetrailerortruckwheels.Firmlysecurethevehicletothetruckortrailerandlockthewheelsinthe
positionusedbythecarrier.
•Electricheaters,battery-chargersandsimilarequipmentmustonlybepoweredbyauxiliarypowersupplieswith
efcientgroundinsulationtoavoidelectricalshockhazards.
•Alwaysusesuitablehoistingorliftingdeviceswhenraisingormovingheavyparts.
•T akeextracareifbystandersarepresent.
•Neverpourpetrolordieseloilintoopen,wideorlowcontainers.
•Neverusegasoline,dieseloilorotherinammableliquidsascleaningagents:usenon-inammable,nontoxic
commerciallyavailablesolvents.
•Wearsafetygoggleswithsideguardswhencleaningpartswithcompressedair.
•Limittheairpressuretoamaximumof2.1bar,accordingtolocalregulations.
•Donotruntheengineinconnedspaceswithoutsuitableventilation.
•Donotsmoke,usenakedames,orcausesparksintheareawhenfuelllingorhandlinghighlyinammableliquids.
•Neverusenakedamesforlightingwhenworkingonthemachineorcheckingforleaks.
•Allmovementsmustbecarriedoutcarefullywhenworkingunder,onornearthevehicle.Wearprotectiveequip-
ment:helmets,gogglesandspecialfootwear.
•Whencarryingoutcheckswiththeenginerunning,requesttheassistanceofanoperatorinthedriver’sseat.The
operatormustmaintainvisualcontactwiththeservicetechnicianatalltimes.
•Ifoperatingoutsidetheworkshop,positionthevehicleonaatsurfaceandlockinposition.Ifworkingonaslope,
lockthevehicleinposition.Movetoaatareaassoonasissafelypossible.
•Damagedorbentchainsorcablesareunreliable:donotusethemforliftingortowing.Alwaysusesuitableprotec-
tivegloveswhenhandlingchainsorcables.
•Chainsshouldalwaysbesafelysecured:makesurethatthehitch-uppointiscapableofsustainingtheloadin
question.Keeptheareanearthehitch-uppoint,chainsorcablesfreeofallbystanders.
•Maintenanceandrepairoperationsmustbecarriedoutinacleananddryarea.Eliminateanywateroroilspillage
immediately.
•Donotcreatepilesofoilorgrease-soakedrags:astheyrepresentaseriousrehazard.Alwaysstoreragsina
closedmetalcontainer.
Beforestartingthetractororitsattachments,check,adjustandblocktheoperator’sseat.Alsocheckthatthereare
nopersonswithinthevehicleorimplementrangeofaction.
•Emptypocketsofallobjectsthatmayfallunobservedintothevehicleparts.
•Inthepresenceofprotrudingmetalparts,useprotectivegogglesorgoggleswithsideguards,helmets,special
footwearandgloves.
