1 ISTRUZIONI ANTINFORTUNISTICHE
GENERALI
Prima di accingersi ad azionare questa macchina, è
importanteleggere,capireeseguirequesteistruzionicon
moltaattenzione,pergarantirelasicurezzadell’operatoree
deicircostanti,comepurepergarantireunalungaesicura
vitadellamacchina.Impararecomeusarel’ettroutensile,le
sue limitazioni d’utilizzo e i rischi potenziali che ne possono
derivare. Conservare queste istruzioni in un posto sicuro
per la consultazione futura.
Controllare sempre che le chiavette e le chiavi di regolazione
siano rimosse dall’elettroutensile prima di avviarlo.
Accertarsi che l’interruttore sia nella posizione di SPENTO
prima di collegare l’elettroutensile all’alimentazione di rete.
Accertarsi che gli elettroutensili siano scollegati
dall’alimentazione di rete quando non vengono utilizzati,
prima della manutenzione, lubrificazione o regolazione e
quandosisostituisconoaccessoriqualilame,punteefrese.
Primadiutilizzareulteriormentel’elettroutensile,questodeve
essere controllato con attenzione per accertarsi che funzioni
correttamente e operi conformemente al suo uso specifico.
Controllarel’allineamentocorrettodellepartiinmovimento,
accertarsichenonsianoinceppate,controllarechenonci
siano componenti rotti e che l’elettroutensile sia montato
correttamente. Verificare qualsiasi altra condizione che

Qualsiasi interruttore che non funziona correttamente deve

SPENTO non accende e spegne l’elettroutensile.

Si raccomanda di indossare una adatta mascherina
antipolvere. Durante l’esecuzione dei lavori utilizzare sempre
imezziprotettivipersonali:occhialiantinfortunistici,guanti,
mascherina,protezioneauricolare,scarpeantinfortunistiche
e antiscivolo.
Non indossare indumenti o gioielleria svolazzanti e
raccogliere i capelli lunghi in modo da evitare che possano
restare impigliati in organi in movimento.
Lavorare sempre su basi stabili. Bloccare sempre saldamente
con una morsa il pezzo da lavorare.
Mantenere sempre pulita ed in ordine la zona di lavoro.
Manovrare l’elettroutensile utilizzando entrambe le mani.
Non aprire o modificare in alcun modo l’elettroutensile o i
suoi accessori.
Nonesporreglielettroutensiliallapioggia,outilizzarliin
situazioni dove possano bagnarsi o inumidirsi.
Mantenere l’area di lavoro bene illuminata.
Non utilizzare gli elettroutensili nelle zone dove esista
un pericolo di esplosione o d’incendio dovuto a materiali
combustibili,aliquidiinfiammabili,vernice,pittura,benzina,
ecc. gas e polveri infiammabili di natura esplosiva.
I bambini e gli animali domestici devono essere tenuti fuori
dall’area di lavoro.
Tutti gli elettroutensili devono essere tenuti fuori dalla
portatadeibambini.Quandononsonoinuso,èpreferibile
riporre gli elettroutensili in un armadio o in una stanza
asciutti e chiusi a chiave.
Utilizzare l’utensile corretto
Scegliere l’utensile appropriato per il tipo di lavoro.
Nonutilizzareunutensileperunlavoroperilqualenonè
stato progettato.
Non forzare un utensile piccolo a fare il lavoro di un
utensile per servizio pesante. Non utilizzare gli utensili per
scopi a cui non erano stati destinati.
Non forzare l’elettroutensile
L’elettroutensilefaràunlavoromigliore,piùsicuroedarà
un servizio migliore se verrà utilizzato alla velocità per cui
èstatoprogettato.
Mantenere affilati e puliti gli utensili da taglio onde
ottenerne le prestazioni migliori e più sicure.
Seguire le istruzioni di lubrificazione e sostituzione degli
accessori.Mantenereleimpugnatureasciutte,pulitee
prive di olio e grasso.
Accertarsi che le fessure di ventilazione siano sempre
mantenute pulite e prive di polvere. Le fessure di
ventilazione bloccate possono causare il surriscaldamento
e il danneggiamento del motore. Se questa macchina deve
essereutilizzataquandosilavoraadunacertaaltezza,
deve essere utilizzato un ponteggio dotato di ringhiera
ebattipiedeounapiattaformaatorre,inmodotaleda
garantire una adeguata stabilità.
PROTEGGERSI DALLE SCOSSE ELETTRICHE
Evitare il contatto del corpo con superfici messe a terra o
amassa(peresempiotubazioni,radiatori,lavastovigliee
frigoriferi).
Non strattonare o tirare il cavo di alimentazione per
scollegarlo dalla presa di alimentazione di rete.
Non trasportare mai l’elettroutensile afferrandone il cavo di
alimentazione. Tenere il cavo di alimentazione lontano da
fontidicalore,olio,solventiespigolivivi.
Ispezionare periodicamente il cavo di alimentazione
dell’utensilee,sedanneggiato,farlosostituiredaunservizio
di manutenzione autorizzato. Esaminare periodicamente i
cavi di prolunga e sostituirli se danneggiati.
NON utilizzare cavi o bobine di prolunga a due conduttori
per gli elettroutensili con un percorso di terra. Utilizzare
sempre un cavo o bobina di prolunga a tre conduttori
con il filo di terra collegato a terra. Srotolare sempre
completamente l’eventuale cavo di prolunga.
Per i cavi di prolunga fino a 15 metri utilizzare conduttori di
sezionetrasversaledi1,5mm2.
Pericavidiprolungapiùlunghidi15metri,mamenodi40
metri,utilizzareconduttoridisezionetrasversaledi2,5mm2.
Proteggereilcavodiprolungadaoggettiaffilati,calore
eccessivo e dall’esposizione all’umidità o all’acqua.
Importante!
Questo elettroutensile soddisfa le normative nazionali e
internazionali e i requisiti di sicurezza. Le riparazioni
devono essere eseguite unicamente da personale
qualificato, utilizzando pezzi di ricambio originali.
Se questo non viene fatto ne può derivare un grave
pericolo per l’utente.

2 ISTRUZIONI SPECIFICHE PER LA
SICUREZZA
ATTENZIONE!
È RICHIESTO L’AZIONAMENTO A DUE MANI!
Per garantire un utilizzo sicuro, questo macchina deve
essere usata con due mani. Essa non deve essere utilizzata
quando si lavora stando in piedi su una scala a pioli o su di
una scaletta.
Se questa macchina deve essere utilizzata quando si
lavora ad una certa altezza, deve essere adoperato un
ponteggiodotato di ringhiera e battipiede o una piattaforma
a torre che garantiscano un’adeguata stabilità.
ATTENZIONE!
Alcuni prodotti in legno e materiali simili, in particolare
gli MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) possono produrre
polvere che può essere pericolosa per la salute. Quando
si utilizza questa macchina si raccomanda l’uso di una
maschera facciale approvata con filtri sostituibili, oltre
all’utilizzo del dispositivo di aspirazione della polvere.
PERICOLO
Fare attenzione a non avvicinare mai le mani all’area di taglio
ed alla lama. Stringere con la mano libera l’impugnatura
ausiliaria o l’alloggiamento del motore. Impugnando
l’utensile con entrambe le mani, non si corre il rischio di
tagliarsi con la lama.Non allungare le mani sotto il pezzo
che si sta lavorando.La protezione non può proteggere dalla
lama sotto il pezzo in lavorazione.Regolare la profondità di
taglio in base allo spessore del pezzo che si sta lavorando.
Sotto il pezzo si deve vedere meno di un dente della lama.
Non sostenere mai il pezzo da tagliare tra le mani o le
gambe.Fissareil pezzosuun pianostabile.Èimportante
sostenere correttamente il pezzo in lavorazione per ridurre
l’esposizionedelcorpo,l’inceppamentodellalamaedevitare
la perdita di controllo.Tenere l’utensile facendo presa sulle
superfici isolate quando si esegue un lavoro nel quale si
può arrivare a contatto con cavi nascosti o con il proprio
cavo di alimentazione. Il contatto con un cavo sotto tensione
rende “cariche” anche le parti di metallo dell’utensile e può
provocare scossa elettrica all’operatore.Quando si taglia
seguendo le fibre del legno, utilizzare sempre un guida-
pezzo o un guida bordo diritto. Ciò migliora la precisione
del taglio e riduce il rischio di un inceppamento della lama.
Utilizzare sempre lame con la giusta dimensione e forma
(a diamante piuttosto che rotondo) del foro d’inserimento
dell’albero. Se non adatte a questa sega, le lame girano
con moto eccentrico provocando perdita di controllo.
Non utilizzare mai guarnizioni o bulloni per il fissaggio
della lama, danneggiati o non adatti. Le guarnizioni ed
ibulloni per la lama sono stati progettati appositamente per
questasega, perfornire ottimeprestazionie sicurezzadi
funzionamento.
CONTRACCOLPI: CAUSE E SUGGERIMENTI
PER PROTEGGERSI
Ilcontraccolpoèunareazioneimprovvisadellamacchinaad
unalamabloccata,inceppataomaleallineatacheprovoca
un innalzamento incontrollato e la fuoriuscita della
lama dal pezzo che si sta lavorando verso l’operatore.
Quando la lama viene bloccata o rimane inceppata
nel taglioche si chiude, va in stallo e la reazione del
motore fa spostareimprovvisamente la macchina verso
l’operatore.Se la lama si imbarca o è male allineata nel
taglio, i dentiposteriori si piantano nella superficie in
alto del legno tirandola lama fuori dal taglio e facendo
scattare la macchina versol’operatore.Il contraccolpo è il
risultato di un uso errato dell’utensile e/o di procedure o
condizioni di lavoro non corrette che si possono evitare
prendendo le debite precauzioni indicate di seguito.
a) Tenere una salda presa con tutte e due le mani sulla
sega e posizionare le braccia in modo da resistere alle
forze del contraccolpo. Posizionare il corpo lateralmente
allalama,noninlineaconessa.Ilcontraccolpopuòfar
saltare indietro la sega, ma la forza del contraccolpo
può essere controllata dall’operatore se prende le debite
precauzioni.
b) Quando la lama si inceppa o quando si interrompe il taglio
perunmotivoqualsiasi,lasciareilgrillettoetenereferma
la sega nel materiale fino all’arresto completo della lama.
Non tentare mai di estrarre la sega dal pezzo
in lavorazione o di tirare indietro la sega mentre la
lama si muove ancora perché si potrebbe subire un
contraccolpo. Verificare la causa dell’inceppamento
e prendere le dovute misure per eliminarla.
c) Quando si fa ripartire la sega nel pezzo in
lavorazione, centrare la lama nel taglio e controllare
che i denti non siano incastrati nel materiale.
Selalamasiinceppa,tendeascorrereviaoarinculare
dal pezzo appena la sega viene rimessa in moto.
d) Sostenere i pannelli di grandi dimensioni per
ridurre al minimo il rischio che la lama si inceppi
e subisca un contraccolpo. I pannelli larghi tendono
adimbarcarsi sottoilloro stessopeso.È consigliabile
posizionare dei supporti sotto i pannelli su entrambi
ilati,vicinoallalineaditaglioeal bordo delpannello.
e) Non utilizzare lame usurate o danneggiate. Lame non
affilateomalmesseproduconountagliosottilecheprovoca
eccessivoattrito,inceppamentodellalamaecontraccolpi.
f) Le leve di bloccaggio della profondità di taglio
e dell’inclinazione devono essere ben strette e fissate
prima di eseguire un taglio. Se la regolazione
della lama si sposta durante il lavoro, può
verificarsi un inceppamento o un contraccolpo.
g) Faremoltaattenzionequandosieffettuaun“affondamento”
in pareti o altre zone cieche. La lama sporgente può
tagliare oggetti che possono provocare un contraccolpo.
ISTRUZIONI DI SICUREZZA RIFERITE
ALLAPROTEZIONE INFERIORE
a)Prima di ogni utilizzo, controllare sempre che la
protezione inferiore si chiuda in modo appropriato. Non
utilizzare la sega se la protezione inferiore non si muove
liberamente sulla lama e ritorna, poi, nella posizione
di completa chiusura. NON inceppare o bloccare mai
la protezione inferiore nella posizione aperta.
Se la sega cade accidentalmente, la protezione
inferiore può piegarsi. Sollevarla utilizzando la
leva della protezione della lama ed assicurarsi che
si muova liberamente e non tocchi la lama, nel suo
percorso, a qualsiasi angolo o profondità di taglio.

b) Verificare il funzionamento della molla della protezione
inferiore. Se la protezione e la molla non funzionano
correttamente,devonoessererettificateprimadell’utilizzo.
La protezione inferiore può reagire lentamente a causa
dipartidanneggiate,depositidigommaoincrostazioni.
c) Assicurarsi di aver chiuso la protezione inferiore sulla lama
prima di riporre l’utensile per terra o su un tavolo. Una lama
nonprotettaeliberadigirarepuòfarindietreggiarelasega,
tagliando qualsiasi cosa nel suo percorso.
ATTENZIONE!
quando si spegne la macchina la lama continua a girare
per alcuni secondi.
Prima di collegare l’utensile ad una fonte di corrente
(ciabattaadinterruttore,presaamuro,ecc.)assicurarsiche
il voltaggio sia quello specificato sulla targhetta dell’utensile.
Un voltaggio superiore a quello specificato può provocare
seri infortuni all’operatore e danneggiare l’utensile. In caso
di dubbi non accendere l’utensile. L’utilizzo di un voltaggio
inferiore a quello indicato nella targhetta danneggia il
motore. Questo utensile ha un doppio isolamento che
fornisce un’ulteriore protezione contro possibili guasti
all’isolamento all’interno dell’utensile.Scollegare sempre

4 ISTRUZIONI DI FUNZIONAMENTO
Tenere sempre le protezioni in posizione ed in condizioni di
efficienza,perevitaregraviinfortuni.Sostenereipannellidi
grandidimensionicomemostratonella(fig.2),onderidurre
al minimo il rischio che la lama si inceppi e subisca un
contraccolpo. La fig. 3 illustra il modo sbagliato di tagliare
grossi pezzi di legno, che può provocare gravi infortuni
all’operatore.
Durante il taglio, la sega dovrebbe essere appoggiata
sullaparte più grande del pezzo e tagliare la parte più
piccola.Adoperaresempreunaguidapezzo,ciòcontribuirà
ad evitare che venga esercitata una pressione laterale sulla
lamaedarà,inoltre,untagliopiùrettilineo.

PROTEZIONE DAI CONTRACCOLPI
Il contraccolpo si verifica quando la sega si
bloccaimprovvisamente e viene spinta indietro verso
l’operatore.Perevitareicontraccolpi,mantenerelelame
bene affilate ed adoperare sempre supporti adeguati
per i pezzi da lavorare di grandi dimensioni.Se la lama
si inceppa o la sega circolare si blocca lasciar andare
immediatamente l’interruttore.Non allontanare la sega da
unpezzodalavorarementrelalamaèancorainfunzione.
Non collocare mai le mani o le dita dietro o davanti la sega
(fig.4).Sesiverificauncontraccolpo,lasegapotrebbe
sobbalzareall’indietrocolpendolemani,conilrischiodi
provocare gravi lesioni.Adoperare sempre la levetta di
presa per abbassare laprotezione.Prima di procedere
altaglio,assicurarsicheidispositividiregolazionedella
profondità e dell’impugnatura siano serrati.Adoperare
sololamedeltipogiustoperl’utensile,conunforodella
corretta dimensione. Non adoperare mai bulloni o rondelle
della lama difettosi o di tipo errato.Evitare di tagliare chiodi
ispezionando il pezzo di lavoro edasportando tutti i chiodi
prima di procedere con il taglio.Operare con un corretto
posizionamento delle mani e del pezzo da lavorare.
ATTENZIONE!
È importante sostenere correttamente il pezzo da
lavorare e tenere saldamente la sega, per evitare di
perdere il controllo, con il conseguente rischio di
infortuni.
La fig. 5 illustra le corrette posizioni delle mani per sostenere
la sega in maniera sicura.Appoggiare la porzione più larga
dellabasedellasega,suquellapartedelpezzodalavorare
che è saldamente sostenuta, non sulla sezione che è
destinata a cadere una volta ultimato il taglio. Se il pezzo
dalavorareècortoopiccolo,bloccarlo,condeimorsetti,ad
un supporto adatto.
NON CERCARE DI REGGERE I PEZZI DA
LAVORARECORTI CON LE MANI!
La fig. 6 illustra il modo corretto di asportare l’estremità
diun’asse di legno. La fig. 7 illustra il modo sbagliato di
asportare l’estremità di un’asse di legno.Non provare mai
ad usare la sega circolare bloccata in posizione capovolta
in una morsa (fig. 8), è una procedura estremamente
pericolosa che può causare gravi infortuni.Prima di riporre
l’utensile, dopo aver ultimato un taglio,assicurarsi di aver
chiuso la protezione inferiore e che la lama si sia fermata
completamente.
5 REGOLAZIONI
PROFONDITÀ DI TAGLIO A 90°
Questa sega circolare ha una profondità di taglio regolabile.
Per variarla, allentare la manopola sul lato dell’utensile
(Fig. 9). Misurare la profondità di taglio richiesta, dalla
piastra della base fino al punto di altezza massima della
lama,oppureservirsidelmisuratore dellaprofondità sulla
protezionefissadell’utensile(Fig.10).
ANGOLO DI TAGLIO 0-45°
Sulla parte anteriore dell’utensile troviamo la leva di blocco
periltaglioa0º-45º(Fig.11).Allentarelaleva:orailgruppo
dellapiastradibaseruoteràfra0ºe45º.Impostarel’angolo
di taglio desiderato usando la scala graduata posta davanti
all’utensile,infinestringerelalevadiblocco.
Davanti alla piastra della base vi sono due tacche,
contrassegnate con la dicitura 90° e 45°. Queste tacche
servono da guida per indicare la posizione della lama in
rapporto con il taglio praticato nel materiale.
TAGLIO IN PARALLELO
Questo utensile è fornito con una guida per il taglio in
parallelo installata sulla parte anteriore e fermata in
posizione con un’apposita manopola (Fig. 12c).
6 SOSTITUZIONE DELLA LAMA
ATTENZIONE!
Verificare sempre che la sega circolare sia stata
scollegata dalla presa elettrica prima di procedere
allamanutenzione o a qualsiasi regolazione.
Lalamaèmoltoaffilataedoccorremaneggiarlaconcura.
Fareattenzione,inquantolaprotezionedellalamaètenuta
sotto tensione da una molla, che se sganciata potrebbe
causare infortuni. Ruotare la protezione della lama fino
alla posizione completamente aperta e fermarla in questa
posizione, con l’ausilio di un cacciavite o di un pezzo di
legno.Premere il blocco della lama (fig.13d) e, usando
la chiave in dotazione, svitare la vite a testa esagonale
incassata in senso antiorario.
ATTENZIONE: la vite a testa esagonale incassata ha
unanormale filettatura destrorsa.Togliere la vite che fissa la
lamaelaflangiadifermo,prendendonotadelladirezionedi
installazionedellaflangia.Oraèpossibiletoglierelalama.
NB: Non smaltire la lama insieme ai normali rifiuti, ma
riciclarla in modo corretto.Asportare tutti gli eventuali residui
di legno attorno all’alberino del motore e dalle due flange.Ora
montare la nuova lama.Controllare che il senso di rotazione
della freccia stampigliata sulla lama corrisponda a quello
della freccia stampigliata sulla protezione fissa. Rimettere
la flangia di fermo e la vite di blocco della lama.Stringere
saldamentelavitedellalama,manoninmodoeccessivo.
Controllarechelavitesiabenstretta,prima,duranteedopo
ciascun uso.Tendere la protezione della lama e togliere il
pezzo di legno o il cacciavite che la ferma in posizione
aperta.Rilasciare lentamente la protezione, in modo che
vada a coprire la lama. Controllare il funzionamento corretto
dellaprotezione.Oraquestaproceduraèstatacompletata
el’utensileèprontoperl’uso.

2 SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Warning!
TWO HANDED OPERATION REQUIRED!
This machine requires the use of two hands to ensure safe
operation and should not be used when working from
ladders and step ladders.
If the machine is to be used when working at height a
suitable, stable platform or scaffold tower with hand rails
and kick boards should be used.
Caution!
Some wood and wood type products especially MDF
(Medium Density Fibreboard) can produce dust that can be
hazardous to your health. We recommend the use of an
approved face mask with replaceable filters when using this
machine in addition to using the dust extraction facility.
DANGER
a) Keep hands away from cutting area and blade. Keep

Ifbothhandsareholdingthesaw,theycannotbecutby

b) Donot reachunderneaththe workpiece.Theguard cannot
protect you from the blade below the workpiece.

Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth should be visible
below the workpiece.
d) Never hold the piece being cut in your hands or across
your leg. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform. It
is important to support the work properly to minimize
bodyexposure,bladebinding,orlossofcontrol.
e) Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when
performinganoperation wherethecuttingtoolmaycontact
hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will
also make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and
shock the operator.
f) Whenripping, alwaysusea ripfenceorstraight edge
guide. This improves the accuracy of cut and reduces
the chance of the blade binding.
g) Always use blades with correct size and shape (diamond
versus round) of arbour holes. Blades that do not match
themountinghardwareofthesawwillruneccentrically,
causing loss of control.
) Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt.
The blade washers and bolt were specially designed
foryoursaw,foroptimumperformanceandsafetyof
operation.
CAUSES AND OPERATOR PREVENTION OF
KICKBACK
• Kickbackis asudden reactionto apinched, boundor
misalignedsawblade,causinganuncontrolledsawtolift
up and out of the workpiece toward the operator.
• Whenthebladeispinchedorboundtightlybythekerf
closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction
drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator.
• Ifthebladebecomestwistedormisalignedinthecut,the
teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top
surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the
kerfandjumpbacktowardoperator.
Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect
operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided
by taking proper precautions as given below.
a) Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw and
position your arms to resist kickback forces. Position
your body to either side of the blade, but not in line
withtheblade. Kickbackcouldcausethe sawto jump
backwards, but kickback forces can be controlled by
theoperator,ifproperprecautionsaretaken.
b)Whenbladeisbinding,orwheninterruptingacutforany
reason,releasethetriggerandholdthesawmotionless
in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop.
Never attempt to remove the saw from the work or pull
the saw backward while the blade is in motion or
kickback may occur. Investigate and take corrective
actions to eliminate the cause of blade binding.
c)Whenrestartingasawintheworkpiece,centrethesaw
blade in the kerf and check that the saw teeth are not
engagedintothematerial.ifsawbladeisbinding,itmay
walk up or kick back from the workpiece as the saw is
restarted.
d) Support large panels to minimise the risk of blade
pinching and kickback. Large panels tend to sag under
their own weight. Supports must be placed under the
panelonbothsides,nearthelineofcutandnearthe
edge of the panel.
e) Do not use dull or damaged blades. Unsharpened or
improperly set blades produce a narrow kerf causing
excessivefriction,bladebindingandkickback.
f) Bladedepthandbeveladjustinglockingleversmustbe
tightandsecurebeforemakingacut.Ifbladeadjustment
shiftswhilecutting,itmaycausebindingandkickback.
g) Use extra caution when making a “plunge cut ” into
existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding blade
maycutobjectsthatcancausekickback.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING LOWER
GUARD
a) Check lower guard for proper closing before each use.
Do not operate the saw if the lower guard does not move
freely and close instantly. Never clamp or tie the lower
guard in the open position. If the saw is accidentally
dropped, lower guard may be bent. Raise the lower
guard with the blade guard lever and make sure it moves
freelyanddoesnottouchthebladeoranyotherpart,in
all angles and depths of cut.
b) Check the operation of the lower guard spring. If the
guardandthespringarenotoperatingproperly,they
must be serviced before use. Lower guard may operate
sluggishlyduetodamagedparts,gummydeposits,ora
build-up of debris.
c) Lower guard should be retracted manually only for
special cuts such as “plunge cuts” and “compound cuts”.
Raise lower guard by blade guard lever.
Assoonasbladeentersthematerial,thelowerguard
mustbereleased.Forallothersawingtasks,thelower
guard should operate automatically.
d) Always observe that the lower guard is covering the
blade before placing the saw down on bench or floor.
Anunprotected,coastingbladewillcausethesawto
walkbackward,cuttingwhateverisinitspath.
Warning!
Be aware of the time it takes for the blade to stop
after the switch is released.

such a way that they could fall into it.
• Alwaysholdthesawonpartsthatareinsulated.Ifyou
accidentally cut into hidden wiring or the saw ’s own

• Neversawnearcombustibleliquidsorgases.
• Notethedirectionofrotationofthemotorandtheblade.
• Donotlockthemovableguardintheopenpositionand
alwaysensurethatitisworkingproperly,freelyrotating
and returning to fully cover the teeth of the blade.
• Donotuseanyabrasivewheelunlessthemachineis
designed for that purpose.

4 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Keep guards in place and in good working order at all times
to avoid serious accidents.
Support large panels as shown in (Pic. 2) to minimize the
risk of blade pinching and kickback. Pic. 3 shows the wrong
way to cut large pieces of wood, cutting in this way will
causeseriousinjurytotheoperator.
Whencutting,thesawshouldrestonthelargerpieceofthe
material and the smaller piece cut off.
Usea ripfenceat alltimes, thiswillhelp topreventside
pressure being exerted on the blade and will also give a
straighter cut.
GUARDING AGAINST KICK BACK
Kick back occurs when the saw stalls rapidly and is driven
back towards the operator. To avoid kick back keep blades
sharp and always support large work pieces correctly.
Release the switch immediately if blade binds or if the
circular saw stalls.
Do not remove the saw from a work piece while the blade is
still moving. Never place your hands or fingers behind or in
frontofthesaw(Pic.4).Ifkickbackoccurs,thesawcould
jumpbackwardsoveryourhand, possiblycausing severe
injury.
Always lower guard with the retaining handle. Before cutting
besurethatthedepthandbeveladjustmentsaretight.
Use only the correct blades for your power tool with the
correct bore size.
Never use defective or incorrect blade washers or bolts.
Avoidcuttingnailsbyinspectingtheworkpiece,removeall
nails from the work piece before cutting.
Operate with the correct hand and work piece support.

Warning!
It is important to support the work piece properly and
to hold the saw firmly to prevent loss of control which
could cause personal injury.
Pic. 5 illustrates the correct hand positions to support of the
saw safely.
Place the wider portion of the saw base on that part of the
work piece which is solidly supported, not on the section
that will fall off when the cut is made. If the work piece is
shortorsmall,clampittoasuitablesupport.
DO NOT TRY TO HOLD SHORT PIECES BY HAND!
Pic. 6 illustrates the correct way to cut off the end of a
board.
Pic. 7 shows the wrong way to cut off the end of a board.
Never attempt to saw with the Circular Saw held upside
downinavice(Pic.8)thisisextremelydangerousandcan
lead to a serious accident.
Beforesettingthetooldownaftercompletingacut,besure
that the lower guard has closed and the blade has come to
a complete stop.
5 ADJUSTMENTS
DEPTH OF CUT AT 90°
TheCircularSawhasanadjustabledepthofcut.Toadjust
the depth of cut slacken the lever located on the side of
the machine (Pic. 9a). Measure the depth required from the
base plate to the highest point of the blade or use the depth
gaugeonthefixedguard.(Pic.10).
ANGLE OF CUT 0 - 45°
Locatedatthefrontofthemachineisthe0-45°lockinglever
(Pic. 11b). Slacken the lever and the base plate assembly
willrotatebetween0-45°.Setthedesiredcuttingangleby
using degree scale at the front of the machine and tighten
the locking lever.
At the front of the base plate there are two notches marked
90° and 45°. These notches are a guide to indicate the
position of the blade in relation to the cut being made in
the material.
PARALLEL CUTTING
This machine is supplied with a parallel cutting guide.
This cutting guide is fitted to the front of the machine and
secured with the locking knob (Pic. 12c).
6 CHANGING THE BLADE
Warning!
Always ensure that the Circular Saw is disconnected
from the mains supply before carrying out any
maintenance or adjustments.
The blade is extremely sharp and care must be observed
when handling.
Caution must be observed as the blade guard is spring
loaded and if released may cause an injury. Rotate the
blade guard into the fully open position and secure it in this
position using a screwdriver or piece of wood.
Depress the spindle lock (Pic.13d) and using the supplied
key,unscrewthescrewinaanti-clockwisedirection.
CAUTION: The hex socket screw is a normal right hand
thread.
Remove the hex socket screw and the retaining flange
noting which way round the retaining flange is fitted. You
can now remove the blade.
NOTE:Do notdisposeof theblade inhouse-holdwaste,
recycle correctly.
Remove any wood debris from around the motor spindle
andthe twoflanges.Fit thenewblade, ensuringthatthe
direction of rotation arrow on the blade corresponds with the
direction of rotation arrow on the fixed guard. Replace the
retaining flangeand blade bolt.
Tighten the hex socket screw securely but do not over
tighten.
NOTE:Checkthetightnessofthehexsocketscrewbefore,
during and after each use.
Take up the tension on blade guard and remove the piece
of wood or screwdriver that is holding it in the open
position.
Slowly release the guard so that it covers the blade.
Check the operation of the blade guard making sure that it
operates correctly. The operation is complete and your
machine is ready for use.
