Kickback
Kickback is the upward and backward movement
of the cutting discs when the cutting discs
unexpectedly touch an object. Securely hold the
machine with both hands during use. Keep your
attention focused on the operation.
Kickback is usually caused by:
- unintentionally touching hard objects or
materials with the rotating cutting discs;
- blunt cutting discs;
- cutting discs that are not properly mounted;
- cutting into a previous cut;
- a lack of attention to the operation;
- an instable stance.

● Donotlookdirectlyintothelaserbeam.
● Donotpointthelaserbeamhumansor
animals.
● Donotpointthelaserbeamatstrongly
reectingmaterial.
● Donotinserthardobjectsintothelaseroptics.
● Cleanthelaseropticswithasoft,
dry brush.
● Onlyhavethelaserrepairedbyaqualied
technician.

Always check that the voltage of the
power supply corresponds to the voltage
on the rating plate.
● Donotusethemachineifthemainscableor
the mains plug is damaged.
● Onlyuseextensioncablesthataresuitablefor
the power rating of the machine with a
minimum thickness of 1.5 mm2.Ifyouusea
extension cable reel, always fully unroll the
cable.

Ifthemoulded3-pinplugattachedtotheunitis
damaged and needs replacing, it is important that it
is correctly destroyed and replaced by an
approvedBS1363/13Afusedplugandthatthe
following wiring instructions are followed.
The wires in the mains cable are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
blue neutral
brown live
As the colours of the wires in the mains cable of
the unit may not correspond to the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in the plug,
proceed as follows:
- The wire which is coloured blue must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with
the letter N or coloured black.
- The wire which is coloured brown must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with
theletterLorcolouredred.

slots in masonry. The machine is only suitable for
right-hand use.

ASSEMBLY
Before assembly, always switch off the
machine and remove the mains plug
from the mains.

Worn or damaged cutting discs must be replaced
immediately.
- Onlyusesharpandundamagedcuttingdiscs.
- Always replace both cutting discs at the same
time.
- Never attempt to remove the guard.
● Keepthespindlelockbutton(6)pressedto
lock the spindle (17).
● Loosentheouterange(18)usingtheange
key(19).
● Removetheoldcuttingdisc(20),thespacers
(21), the old cutting disc (22), and the inner
ange(23).Ifnecessary,usethesplitting
wedge (24) to remove the spacers (21).
● Ifnecessary,cleantheanges(18&23).
● Mounttheinnerange(23),thenewcutting
disc (22), the spacers (21), and the new
cuttingdisc(20).
● Firmlytightentheouterange(18)usingthe
angekey(19).
● Releasethespindlelockbutton(6).
USE

The slot width can be set using the spacers
between the cutting discs. The number of spacers
between the cutting discs determine the slot
width.
- Donotsettheslotwidthduringuse.
- Always mount at least one spacer between the
cutting discs.
● Determinetheslotwidth.
● Mounttherequiredamountofspacers(21)
betweenthecuttingdiscs(20&22).Referto
thechapter“Replacingthecuttingdiscs”.

The depth stop restricts the maximum slot depth
during use to prevent the machine from cutting
too deeply into the wall. The slot depth can be
read from the scale (4).
Do not set the depth stop during use.
● Slightlyliftthedepthstop(5)fromtheguard
(7).
● Setthedepthstop(5)totherequiredposition.
● Releasethedepthstop(5)tolockitintothe
correct position.

Theslotdepthisvariablebetween0and40mm.
The slot depth can be read from the scale (4).
Do not set the slot depth during use.
● Slackenthelockinglever(3).
● Tiltthebase(11)totherequiredposition.
● Tightenthelockinglever(3).

● Toswitchonthemachine,keepthelock-off
button (2) pressed and simultaneously press the
on/offswitch(1).
● Toswitchoffthemachine,releasethe
on/offswitch(1).

The laser is used for projection of the cut on the
wall.
● Toswitchonthelaser(9),presstheon/off
switch (8).
● Toswitchoffthelaser(9),releasethe
on/offswitch(8).

Theoverloadindicator(10)indicateswhetherthe
machine is overloaded.
● Ifthemachineisswitchedon,theoverload
indicator(10)ashesgreen3times.
● Iftheoverloadindicator(10)lightsgreen,the
machine is not overloaded. The machine can
be used normally.
● Iftheoverloadindicator(10)ashesred,the
machine is overloaded. Apply less pressure on
the machine.
● Iftheoverloadindicator(10)lightsred,
the machine is fully overloaded. The machine
will be switched off.

Onlyusethemachinewhenitisconnectedtoa
vacuum device which is approved for stone dust.
The vacuum device must be suitable for the
material to be worked. Use a special vacuum
device when working with toxic materials or
where toxic dust is produced.
- Never use a household vacuum cleaner. The
use of a household vacuum cleaner can easily
damage both your health and the vacuum
cleaner.
- Always use the dust extraction adapter.
- Makesurethatthehoseofthevacuumdevice
is securely connected to the dust extraction
adapter.
- Ifthevacuumdevicebreaksdown,stopwork
immediately, switch off the machine, remove
the mains plug from the mains, and try to solve
the problem.
● Insertthedustextractionadapter(25)intothe
dustextractionconnection(13).
● Tightenthedustextractionadapter(25)by
turning it clockwise until it locks into place.
● Connectthehoseofavacuumdevicetothe

Hints for optimum use

slot depth (recommended). The machine is
placed against the wall and the cutting discs
lower into the wall in order to set the slot depth
more accurately.
- Set the slot depth and lower the machine into
the wall.
● Placethemachinewiththewheelsonthewall.
Makesurethatthecuttingdiscsalignwiththe
drawn lines on the wall.
● Settheslotdepth.
● Switchonthemachine.
● Waituntilthemachinehasreachedfullspeed.
● Slowlymovethemachinealongthepre-drawn
lines,rmlypressingthewheelsagainstthe
wall.
● Donotapplytoomuchpressureonthe
machine.Letthemachinedothework.
● Switchoffthemachineandwaitforthe
machine to come to a complete standstill
before putting the machine down.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning and maintenance,
always switch off the machine and
remove the mains plug from the mains.
● Regularlycleanthehousingwithasoftcloth.
● Keeptheventilationslotsfreefromdustand
dirt.Ifnecessary,useasoft,moistclothto
remove dust and dirt from the ventilation slots.
● Regularlycleanthecuttingdiscstoavoid
inaccuracies during use.
Checking and replacing the carbon brushes

Thecarbonbrushesmustbecheckedregularly.If
the carbon brushes are worn, the machine will
start to run unevenly.

brushes.
