Safety Information, 120-Volt Models
Your OKI product has been carefully designed to give you years of
safe, reliable performance. As with all electrical equipment, there are
a few basic precautions you should take to avoid hurting yourself or
damaging the product.
• Carefully read the provided setup and operating instructions.
• Save all provided documentation for future reference.
• Read and follow all warning and instruction labels on the product
itself.
• The printhead can get quite hot when it has been printing for a
length of time. Do not touch the printhead until it has had a chance
to cool off.
• Unplug the product before you clean it. Use only a damp cloth; do
not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
• Place your product on a firm, solid surface. If you put it on
something unsteady, it may fall and be damaged. If you place it on
a soft surface, such as a rug, sofa, or cushion, the vents may be
blocked, causing the product to overheat.
• Protect your product from overheating. Make sure no obstructions
block the openings of the product. Do not put the product on or

near a heat source (such as a radiator or heat register). Keep the
product out of direct sunlight.
• Always use this product in a well ventilated area. Allow enough
room around the product for adequate ventilation and easy access
to the paper trays. If you put the product in any kind of enclosure,
make sure the enclosure is well ventilated.
• Do not use your product near water. Do not spill liquid of any kind
into it.
• Be certain that your power source matches the rating listed on the
back of the product. If you are not sure, check with your dealer or
with your local power company.
• Do not connect this product to an uninterruptible power supply
(UPS). For further information please contact Oki Data at
1-800-OKI-DATA.
• Your product has a grounded, three-prong plug as a safety feature.
This plug only fits into a grounded outlet. If the plug does not fit,
the outlet may be an older, non-grounded type. Contact an
electrician to have the outlet replaced. Do not use an adapter to
defeat the grounding.
• Install the product near an easily accessed power outlet.
• Avoid damaging the power cord. Do not put anything on it or place
it where it will be walked on. If the cord becomes damaged or
frayed, replace it immediately.
• If you are using an extension cord or power strip with the product,
make sure that the total of the amperes required by all the
equipment on the extension is less than the extension’s rating. The
total ratings of all equipment plugged into the outlet should not
exceed 15 amperes.
• Do not poke anything into the ventilation slots of the product. You
could get an electrical shock or cause hazardous electrical arcing,
which could cause a fire.
• Aside from the routine maintenance described in the
documentation, do not try to service the product yourself.
Removing the cover may expose you to shocks or other hazards.

• Do not make any adjustments other than those outlined in the
documentation. You may cause damage that will require extensive
repair work. The provided documentation explains how to get your
product serviced by qualified Oki Data technicians.
If anything happens that indicates that your product is not working
properly or has been damaged, unplug it immediately and follow the
procedures in the provided documentation for having your product
serviced.
Here are some of the things to look for.
• The power cord or plug is frayed or damaged.
• Liquid has been spilled into the product, or the product has been
exposed to water.
• The product has been dropped, or the cabinet is damaged.
• The product does not function normally when you are following the
operating instructions.

This product has been carefully designed to give years of safe, reliable
performance. As with all electrical equipment, however, there are a
few basic precautions that should be taken to avoid injury or damage:
• Ensure this and all other documentation is both read carefully and
retained for future reference.
• Ensure all warning and instruction labels on the product are read,
understood and followed in order to prevent any risk of injury.
• This product may be heavy. Please check the weight of the product
and take all necessary precautions to prevent the risk of personal
injury.
• The product must be placed on a flat solid surface strong enough to
support its weight to prevent any risk of injury.
• Ensure that there is adequate ventilation all around the product to
prevent overheating and any risk of fire.
• Keep the product away from direct heat sources such as radiators
and out of direct sunlight to prevent any risk of overheating.

• The power supply required for this product is 220-240 VAC, 50/60
Hz. (For any DC powered product, the figures are 9.6-31.2VDC,
4-1.8A.) Refer to your product's rating label on the machine for full
power rating details. Ensure that you have a suitable power supply
before connecting the product. If in doubt contact your dealer or
check with your local power provider.
• Ensure both the product and mains power switches are in the OFF
position before connecting the AC power cable.
• Do not connect or disconnect the power plug with a wet hand as
this may cause electric shock.
• Always hold the power plug to connect/disconnect the power cable
to/from the mains socket. Unplugging by pulling on the cable can
cause fraying and may lead to fire or electric shock.
• This product has an earthed plug as a safety feature and will only
connect to an earthed socket. Do not attempt to defeat the earthing
or there is a risk of fire or shock.
• If using an extension cable or power strip ensure that the total
current rating (amperes) of all connected equipment is less than the
maximum rating of the extension cable, power strip or wall outlet.
If the product is already supplied with a fitted power strip then no
additional power strip or extension cable should be used to connect
to the mains wall outlet. Otherwise, fire or shock may occur.
• Ensure the power cable is routed so as not to be damaged or cause
a trip hazard. If the cable becomes frayed or damaged replace it
immediately to prevent any risk of shock.
• Do not twist, constrict or knot the power cable as this can cause
overheating which may lead to fire or electric shock.
• Ensure the power socket to which the product is connected is easily
accessible at all times and not obstructed.
• Use only the power cable supplied. Using a power cable not
intended for this product may lead to fire or electric shock.
• To avoid risk of fire and electric shock, do not use the power cable
supplied with this product for any other electrical equipment.

• If you do not connect the power cord or any other cables only as
directed in the User's Guide, this may result in a fire.
• It is recommended that the machine is switched off prior to opening
covers; otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.
• When the product cover is open, do not touch the fuser unit or print
head as you may receive burns. Allow it to cool before touching.
• If the product casing gets extremely hot or smoke, unusual smells
or abnormal noises are emitted from the product, there is a risk of
fire. Unplug the mains connector and contact your dealer.
• If the product has been knocked over or damaged, there is a risk of
electric shock, fire and/or injury. Unplug the mains connector and
contact your dealer.
• If any liquid (for example water) is allowed to enter the product,
there is a risk of fire. Unplug the mains connector and contact your
dealer.
• Do not place containers containing liquid on the product as electric
shock, fire and/or injuries may occur.
• If any foreign objects (for example clips) are allowed to enter the
product, there is a risk of electric shock, fire and/or injury. Unplug
the mains connector before removing the object.
• Do not introduce foreign objects into the ventilation holes or
operate this product with any covers open or doors removed as
electric shock, fire and/or injuries may occur.
• Do not use an extremely flammable spray near the product as the
product contains high temperature parts that may cause a fire.
• Switch the product off before cleaning to prevent any risk of injury.
Clean using a damp cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
• Ensure loose clothing and hair is kept clear of moving parts when
the product is in operation to prevent possible risk of injury.
• Do not carry out any operations on the product that are not
specified in the User's Guide. This may result in electric shock, fire
and/or injury.

• Do not touch the battery if one is fitted to the product. There is a
risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. The
product battery should not require replacement during the life of
the product.
• Do not throw toner cartridges or image drum cartridges into a fire
as you may receive burns from a dust explosion.
• After installing additional memory, hard disk drive, or any other
internally fitted option, any covers removed or doors opened must
be closed or replaced and secured to prevent risk of fire.
• The acoustic noise of this product is less than 70 dB (A) as
measured in accordance with EN ISO 7779.
• The operating condition range for your product is: 10 to 32°C and
20 to 80% RH. Operation of the product outside this range could
result in damage to the product.
• If a scanner, finisher etc. is fitted, exercise care when moving these
items so as to avoid risk of entrapment or personal injury.
• If the product is installed on a cabinet or high capacity feeder,
ensure wheel locks are applied once placed in final position for use,
to prevent risk of movement or injury.
Limited Warranty, US and Canada __________
Oki Data Americas, Inc. (Oki Data) warrants this LP400, LP441,
LP470, LP480 (hereinafter "the Product") to be free from defects in
material and workmanship and will remedy any such defect according
to the terms of this Limited Warranty .
Oki Data will repair or at its option, replace, with the same or its
functional equivalent, at no charge, any defective component(s) of the
Product for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
This Limited Warranty only extends to the original purchaser of the
warranted item. This Limited Warranty is not transferable. This
Limited Warranty does not extend to consumable items or supplies,
such as thermal printheads, ribbon cartridges, fuses, etc.

Overnight Exchange: US and Canada Only
Oki Data offers Overnight Exchange of the Product under this
Limited Warranty . Overnight Exchange is only available in the
United States and Canada and it does not include the replacement
or repair of the Product's consumable items or supplies.
If you choose to use our Overnight Exchange service, call
1-800-654-3282 (1-800-OKI-DATA): our trained personnel will try
to solve your problem over the phone. If they determine that your
Product hardware is defective, an exchange product will be shipped
to you via overnight carrier. Have your credit card available as our
representative will be asking for this information. You will receive
the exchange product the next business day—or no later than the
second business day.
Return the original Product to Oki Data by using the same
packaging materials you received with the exchange product. The
Product to be returned must be made available for pickup by Oki
Data's representative within two (2) business days of your receipt
of the exchange product: failure to do so may result in your being
charged the full price of the exchange unit.
When Overnight Exchange is used, the returned machine becomes
the property of Oki Data, once it has been picked up by Oki Data or
its representative. Exchange machines may be new or
reconditioned, at the option of Oki Data: the exchange machine
becomes the property of the customer when the returned machine
has been picked up by Oki Data's designated carrier.
The exchange printer will be warranted for thirty (30) days or the
remaining warranty period of the returned Product, whichever is
longer.

A written receipt for the Product, showing the date of purchase,
dealer's name, and both the model and serial numbers of this Product
must accompany any request or claim for work to be performed under
this Limited Warranty .
This Limited Warranty shall not apply to normal wear and tear and
shall not apply if the Product has been damaged due to abuse, misuse,
misapplication, accident, improper storage, or installation, an
unsuitable physical operating environment, or as a result of service or
modification by any other than an authorized Oki Data service center.
THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THOSE ON
THE FACE HEREOF AND DESCRIBED ABOVE. NO WARRANTIES
WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT
LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF

Wireless LAN Specification
The available scientific evidence does not show that any health
problems are associated with using low power wireless devices. There
is no proof, however, that these low power wireless devices are
absolutely safe. Low power Wireless devices emit low levels of radio
frequency energy (RF) in the microwave range while being used.
Whereas high levels of RF can produce health effects (by heating

• Le produit doit être placé sur une surface plane et stable, assez
solide pour supporter son poids et éviter tout risque de blessures.
• Assurez-vous que la ventilation autour de du produit est suffisante
pour éviter une surchauffe et tout risque d'incendie.
• Tenez le produit à l'écart des sources de chaleur, telles que les
radiateurs, et à l'abri d'une lumière directe du soleil pour éviter tout
risque de surchauffe.
• L'alimentation électrique requise par ce produit est 220-240 V c.a.,
50/60 Hz. (Pour les produits alimentés en courant continu,
l'alimentation électrique requise est la suivante : 9,6-31,2 V c.c., 4-
1,8 A.) Reportez-vous à l'étiquette signalétique de votre machine
pour connaître tous les détails. Vérifiez que votre source
d'alimentation est appropriée avant de brancher le produit. En cas
de doute, contactez votre revendeur ou demandez conseil à votre
fournisseur local d'électricité.
• Assurez-vous que l'interrupteur du produit et celui du secteur sont
sur OFF avant de brancher le câble d'alimentation.
• Ne branchez ou ne débranchez pas la prise d'alimentation avec les
mains mouillées car vous pourriez être électrocuté.
• Tenez toujours la prise pour brancher/débrancher le câble
d'alimentation de la prise secteur. Tirer sur le câble pour le
débrancher peut casser les fils du câble et provoquer un incendie ou
une électrocution.
• Ce produit est équipé d'une prise de terre et ne doit être connecté
qu'à une prise dotée d'une prise de terre. Ne passez pas outre cet
élément de sécurité, il pourrait s'ensuivre un risque d'incendie ou
d'électrocution.
• Si vous utilisez une rallonge ou une barrette d'alimentation,
assurez-vous que le courant total (ampères) de tous les
équipements connectés est inférieur à la spécification maximum du
câble de rallonge, de la barrette ou de la prise murale. Si le produit
est déjà fourni avec une barrette d'alimentation intégrée, n'utilisez
aucune autre barrette ou rallonge pour la connexion à la prise

• Assurez-vous que le câble d'alimentation chemine sans risque d'être
endommagé ou de faire trébucher quelqu'un. S'il est usé ou abîmé,
remplacez-le immédiatement pour éviter tout risque

• Ne tordez pas, ne comprimez pas et ne faites pas de nœuds avec le
câble d'alimentation car cela pourrait entraîner des surchauffes et
provoquer un incendie ou une électrocution.
• Vérifiez que la prise secteur à laquelle est branché le produit est
toujours accessible facilement et qu'elle n'est pas obstruée.
• Utilisez uniquement le câble d'alimentation fourni. L'utilisation d'un
câble non approprié peut provoquer un incendie ou une
électrocution.
• Pour éviter tout risque d'incendie et d'électrocution, n'utilisez pas le
câble fourni ici avec un autre équipement électrique.
• Si vous ne connectez pas le cordon d'alimentation ou d'autres
câbles en respectant la méthode donnée dans le Guide de
l'utilisateur, vous pouvez provoquer un incendie.
• Il est recommandé d'éteindre la machine avant d'en ouvrir des
capots, faute de quoi il pourrait s'ensuivre un risque d'électrocution.
• Quand le capot du produit est ouvert, ne touchez pas l'unité de
fusion ou la tête d'impression, car vous pourriez vous brûler.
Laissez-les refroidir avant de les toucher.
• Si le boîtier du produit devient très chaud ou fume, s'il émet des
odeurs inhabituelles ou des bruits anormaux, il y a risque
d'incendie. Débranchez la prise secteur et contactez votre
revendeur.
• Si le produit a été renversé ou endommagé, il existe un risque
d'électrocution, d'incendie et/ou de blessure. Débranchez la prise
secteur et contactez votre revendeur.
• Si du liquide (par exemple de l'eau) pénètre dans le produit, il y a
risque d'incendie. Débranchez la prise secteur et contactez votre
revendeur.

• Ne placez pas de conteneurs de liquide sur l'imprimante car cela
pourrait provoquer une électrocution, un incendie et/ou des
blessures.
• Si des corps étrangers (par exemple des trombones) pénètrent
dans l'imprimante, il y a risque d'électrocution, d'incendie et/ou de
blessure. Débranchez la prise secteur avant de retirer l'objet.
• N'introduisez pas de corps étrangers dans les orifices de ventilation
et n'utilisez pas ce produit en laissant le capot arrière ouvert car il y
a alors risque d'électrocution, d'incendie et/ou de blessures.
• N'utilisez pas de spray inflammable près du produit car il contient
des pièces à haute température pouvant provoquer un incendie.
• Éteignez l'imprimante avant de la nettoyer pour éviter tout risque
de blessure. Utilisez un chiffon humide. N'utilisez pas de nettoyant
liquide ou en aérosol.
• Assurez-vous que les pièces en mouvement de l'imprimante ne
peuvent pas happer des vêtements lâches ou des cheveux lorsque
le produit est en fonctionnement afin d'éviter tout risque possible
de blessures.
• N'effectuez pas d'opérations non spécifiées dans le Guide de
l'utilisateur. Cela pourrait provoquer une électrocution, un incendie
et/ou des blessures.
• Ne touchez pas la batterie (si le produit en utilise une). Il existe un
risque d'explosion si vous la remplacez par une batterie de type
incorrect. Il n'est normalement pas nécessaire de remplacer la
batterie du produit pendant la durée de vie du produit.
• Ne jetez pas les cartouches de toner ou de tambour au feu car vous
pourriez être brûlé par les explosions de poussières.
• Après avoir installé de la mémoire supplémentaire, un disque dur
ou une autre option interne, vous devez refermer ou remplacer les
capots qui ont été retirés ou les portent qui ont été ouvertes et les
sécuriser pour éviter tout risque d'incendie ou d'électrocution.
• Le niveau acoustique de ce produit est inférieur à 70 dB (A)
conformément à la norme EN ISO 7779.
