Thank you for purchasing an Omron 1 0 Second Flex Digital Thermometer,
This thermometer oilers a safe, accurate and quick temperature reading. There are three ways to take a temperature; oral, rectal or underarm. This
thermometer eliminates any worries about broken glass or mercury hazards. Note that your temperature is affected by smoking, eating or drinking. We
recommend that you practice taking a temperature on each member of your family when they are healthy. 'Ibis way you wifi be confident in your
technique when using tire thermometer on a sick family member. The enclosed MC-343 thermometer is not sterile.
Read this Instruction Manual completely before using your digital thermometer,

Contact your physician for specific information, about your temperature readings. Self-diagnosis of measured results and treatment are dangerous.
Follow the instructions of your physician or licensed healthcare provider.
Adult supervision is required when taking a temperature on children. Unattended children may injure themselves.
Store the thermometer oat of the reach of children. The lliermomeier contains small parts that may cause a choking hazard if swallowed.
Do not take a measurement when, the thermometer is wet This may result in an inaccurate reading.
This thermometer is intended for use in measuring temperature in die human body by oral, underarm and rectal methods. Operate die thermometer
only as intended. Do not use the thermometer for any other purpose.
Read all of the information in the instruction sheet before using the thermometer.
Do not use the thermometer to take a rectal reading on persons wills rectal disorders. This may worsen the person's condition.
When taking a rectal reading, do not force the thermometer into the rectum. Immediately stop inserting die thermometer if any pain is present.
Failure to do this may cause an injury.
Temperature readings are affected by many factors including exercise, drinking hot or cold beverages prior to taking a reading as well as
technique. Avoid taking a reading after exercise, bathing, eating and drinking for 30 minutes.
When taking an oral reading, do not bite on the thermometer. This may cause the thermometer to break and cause an. injury.
Do not use a mobile phone near the thermometer or in places where strong static electricity or electromagnetic fields are present. This may cause
an inaccurate reading or operational failure.
Remove the Fatten' if the thermometer will not be used for 3- months or longer.
Dispose of the battery according to applicable local regulations. Unlawful disposal may cause environmental pollution.
Use only Omron authorized parts and accessories. Farts and accessories not approved for use with the thermometer may damage the thermometer.
Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the thermometer. This snay result in inaccurate readings and will void the user warranty.
Do not subject the thermometer to strong shocks, such as dropping the thermometer on the floor. Do not step on the thermometer or storage case.
Do not: bend the tip time than 45 degrees.
Store the thermometer in a clean, safe location.
Do not attempt to incinerate the batten'. It may hurst.
Pay attention to polarity {•;•-) when replacing lire battery. Failure to do so may lead to fluid leakage, lieaf generation or bursting, resulting in damage to the unit.
Do not share the thermometer among individuals.

• Place the thermometer in the mouth under foe tongue so that U rests to the left
or right of the root of the tongue.
• Use downward tongue pressure to hold the thermometer in place.

Placement Points
RECTAL USE:
Always use a probe cover when taking rectal measurements.
• Commonly used for young children when it is difficult to take an oral or underarm temperature.
• Lubricate wifo a water-soluble gel. Do not use petroleum jelly
• Gently insert tire probe tip no more than V2 inch into the rectum. Do not. force Hie tip into Hie rectum if resistance is encountered.
• Disinfect foe thermometer after use. Refer to Cleaning and disinfection in the “CARL AND MMNTr.NANCT" section

■ TAKING THE TEMPERATURE
The use of a new probe cover is recommended for each use to avoid spreading germs that may lead to bacterial or viral infection.

Even if the “L” indicator fails to display (when only the
temperature is displayed), this is not an error. So the
temperature may be taken as is.

thermometer from the measurement site and read the
result.

* Although the thermometer will automatically switch itself off 30 minutes after use or after .3 minutes when it has not been used; it should be
tamed off manually to conserve the battery.

Wide differences in readings
* The temperature sensing part' of the thermometer is being
placed at a different location for each reading.
* The thermometer is moved while the temperature is
being taken.

■ CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Keep the thermometer clean.
‘ Do not use strong jets of water to dean the thenrtlontder or leave it immersed in water for
long pentxis of time.
* Wipe the thermometer with a soft clean cloth.
* When using alcohol to clean the thermometer, make sore that it does not come into contact
with die indicator section.
* For stubborn stains, wipe the thermometer with a doth that has been dampened with water or
a neutral detergent solution and then wring thoroughly. Finish by wiping with a soft dry cloth.
* Observe the following to prevent damage to the thermometer.
- Do not use benzene, thinner, gasoline or other strong solvents to deal the thermometer.
- Do not soak die sensing section in alcohol tor long periods of time or attempt to .sterilize if
using hot water (wafer at»temperature of 122 e F (50 C C) or higher).
- Do not use ultrasonic washing to dean the thermometer.
Cleaning and disinfection
* Onrnvi'i recommends to wipe the device with damp cloth. For disinfection. 70% Ethanol or
Isopropyl alcohol can be used. Do not attempt to disinfect the sensing section of the
thermometer by immersing in alcohol or in hot water (water over 122 5 F (SOX.')}.
Store the thermometer In Its storage case.
* Do nor store the thermometer in the following types of
places. Doing so may damage the thermometer.
- Wet. locations.
- Locations with high heat and humidify or those that are
exposed to direct sunlight. Areas dose to heating
equipment dusty locations, or environments where
there are high salt concentrations in the air.
- locations where the unit will he subjected to leaning,
shock or vibration,
- Pharmaceutical storage areas or locations where
corrosive gases are present
