全般
y爆発性雰囲気、引火性ガスの雰囲気、腐食性の雰囲気、可燃物のそば
では使用しないでください。火災・感電・けがの原因になります。
y設置、接続、運転・操作、点検・故障診断の作業は、適切な資格を有す
る人が行なってください。火災・感電・けが、装置破損の原因になりま
す。
y通電状態で移動、設置、接続、点検の作業をしないでください。電源
を切ってから作業してください。感電の原因になります。
y昇降装置に使用するときは、可動部の位置保持対策を行なってくださ
い。位置制御モードでは電源OFF時、それ以外のモードでは停止時に、
モーターの保持力がなくなるため、可動部が落下して、けが・装置破
損の原因になります。
設置
yモーターはクラスⅠ機器に設置してください。感電の原因になります。
y設置するときは、手がモーターに触れないようにするか、接地してく
ださい。感電の原因になります。
接続
yドライバ編またはユーザーズマニュアルに記載されているモーターの
接続方法にもとづき、確実に接続してください。火災・感電の原因に
なります。
y接続ケーブルを無理に曲げたり、引っ張ったり、挟み込まないでくだ
さい。火災・感電の原因になります。
修 理・分 解・改 造
yモーターを分解・改造しないでください。感電・けがの原因になります。
内部の点検や修理は、お買い上げになった支店または営業所に連絡し
てください。

この注意事項に反した取り扱いをすると、傷害を負うまたは物的損害が
発生する場合がある内容を示しています。
全般
yモーターの仕様値を超えて使用しないでください。感電・けが・装置破
損の原因になります。
y運転中や停止後しばらくの間はモーターに触れないでください。モー
ターの表面が高温のため、やけどの原因になります。
運搬
yモーター出力軸やモーターケーブルを持たないでください。けがの原
因になります。
設置
yモーターの回転部（出力軸）にカバーを設けてください。けがの原因に
なります。
運転
y運転中は回転部（出力軸）に触れないでください。けがの原因になりま
す。
y装置の故障や動作の異常が発生したときは、装置全体が安全な方向へ
はたらくよう非常停止装置、または非常停止回路を外部に設置してく
ださい。けがの原因になります。
yモーターは、正常な運転状態でも表面温度が 70 °Cを超
えることがあります。運転中のモーターに接近できると
きは、図の警告ラベルをはっきり見える位置に貼ってく
ださい。やけどの原因になります。 警告ラベル
y電磁ブレーキ用の直流電源は、一次側と強化絶縁された電源を使用し
てください。感電の原因になります。
保 守・点 検
y絶縁抵抗測定、絶縁耐圧試験を行なうときは、端子に触れないでくだ
さい。感電の原因になります。
廃棄
yモーターを廃棄するときは、できるだけ分解し、産業廃棄物として処
理してください。
使用上のお願い
製品をお使いいただくうえでの制限やお願いについて説明します。
•モーターとドライバの接続には、付属またはオプションのケー
ブルをお使いください
モーターとドライバは、必ず付属またはオプションのケーブルを使用し
て接続してください。次の場合は、オプションのケーブルを別途お買い
求めください。
y可動ケーブルを使用するとき
y3 mよりも長いケーブルを使用するとき
•絶縁抵抗測定、絶縁耐圧試験は、モーターとドライバそれぞ
れで行なってください
モーターとドライバを接続した状態で、絶縁抵抗測定、絶縁耐圧試験を
行なうと、製品が破損するおそれがあります。
•電磁ブレーキを制動・安全ブレーキとして使用しないでくださ
い
電磁ブレーキは無励磁作動型です。停電時などに負荷の位置を保持する
のに役立ちますが、負荷を確実に保持する機構ではありません。必ずモー
ターを停止させてから、電磁ブレーキで負荷の位置を保持してください。
•ラジアル荷重・アキシアル荷重は許容値以下で使用してくださ
い
許容値を超えたラジアル荷重やアキシアル荷重が加わった状態で運転を
続けると、モーターの軸受け（ボールベアリング）が破損する原因になり
ます。必ず許容値内のラジアル荷重・アキシアル荷重で運転してくださ
い。詳細はユーザーズマニュアルをご覧ください。
•ノイズ対策
ノイズ対策についてはユーザーズマニュアルをご覧ください。
•ギヤードモーターのグリース
ギヤードモーターから、まれに少量のグリースがにじみ出ることがあり
ます。グリース漏れによる周囲環境の汚染が問題になる場合は、定期点
検時にグリースのにじみをチェックしてください。または、油受けなど
の損害防止装置を取り付けてください。油漏れでお客様の装置や製品な
どに不具合を発生させる原因になります。
•モーター出力軸やエンコーダは、絶対に叩いたり、強い衝撃
を与えないでください
モーター出力軸やエンコーダに強い衝
撃が加わると、エンコーダが破損した
り、モーターが誤動作する原因になり
ます。
モーターには、右の警告ラベルが表示

•負荷を取り付けていない状態で、キー付のモーターを運転す
るときは、キーが飛散しないように処理してください
キーが飛散すると、けがや装置破損の原因になります。
準備


設置

設置場所
モーターは機器組み込み用に設計・製造されています。
風通しがよく、点検が容易な、次のような場所に設置してください。
y屋内に設置された筐体内（換気口を設けてください。）
y使用周囲温度：0 ～ +40 °C（凍結しないこと）
y使用周囲湿度：85%以下（結露しないこと）
y爆発性雰囲気、および有害なガス（硫化ガスなど）のないところ
y直射日光が当たらないところ
y油（油滴）などがかからないところ
y塩分の少ないところ
y連続的な振動や過度の衝撃が加わらないところ
y電磁ノイズ（溶接機、動力機器など）が少ないところ
y放射性物質や磁場がなく、真空でないところ
y海抜1000 m以下

設置方向
モーターの設置方向に制限はありません。ただし、湿気や霧状雰囲気に
よって、水が溜まりやすい環境では、モーターケーブルが下向きになる
ように取り付けてください。

設置方法
振動防止を考慮して、できるだけ強固な金属面へ確実に取り付けてくだ
さい。また、放熱板（材質：アルミニウム）と同程度の放熱能力を持つ場
所に設置してください。
放熱板は下表のサイズを参考にしてください。

PJギヤードタイプは締付トルクが大きいため、強度が弱い取付板
やねじを使用すると、破損するおそれがあります。取付板および
取り付けねじは、次の条件を満たしてください。また、必ず規定
の締付トルクで固定してください。

z設置方法B、Dで取り付けるときの注意
設置方法B、Dで取り付けるときに、座金を使用する場合は、座金の種
類やサイズにご注意ください。座金がモーターのフランジに干渉して、
適切に取り付けられないことがあります。
表を参考にして、ボルトが確実に着座する座金をお使いください。

負荷の取り付け
負荷をモーターに取り付けるときは、負荷の軸中心線とモーター出力軸
を揃えてください。カップリングやプーリーをモーター出力軸に取り付
けるときは、出力軸や軸受けに損傷を与えないでください。

z電磁ブレーキ付モーターの場合
電磁ブレーキを解放して負荷を取り付けるときは、電磁ブレーキ用の直
流電源が必要です。
電磁ブレーキ用ケーブルを使用して、DC24 V±10%の直流電源をモー
ターに接続してください。
ユニットでご購入の場合は、電磁ブレーキ用ケーブルが付属しています。

モーターの運転後は、定期的に次の項目について点検することをおすす
めします。異常があるときは使用を中止し、お客様ご相談センターにお
問い合わせください。


yモーターの取付ねじに緩みがないか。
yモーターの軸受け（ボールベアリング）などから異常な音が発生してい
ないか。
yモーター出力軸（ギヤ出力軸）と負荷軸に心ズレがないか。
yモーターケーブルやモーター用ケーブルに傷、ストレスや、ドライバ
との接続部に緩みがないか。

precautions.

Connect the lead wire for Protective Earth Terminal of the "cable for motor", to
the Protective Earth Terminal on the driver.
Hazardous substances
The products do not contain the substances exceeding the restriction values
of RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU).
Safety precautions
The precautions described below are intended to prevent danger or injury to
the user and other personnel through safe, correct use of the product. Fully
understand the meaning of each item before using the product.
Handling the product without observing the instructions that accompany a
“Warning”symbol may result in serious injury or death.
General
yDo not use the product in explosive or corrosive environments, in the
presence of ammable gases or near combustibles. Doing so may result in
re, electric shock or injury.
yAssign qualied personnel the task of installing, wiring, operating/
controlling, inspecting and troubleshooting the product. Failure to do so
may result in re, electric shock , injury or damage to equipment.
yDo not transport, install the product, perform connections or inspections
when the power is on. Always turn the power o before carrying out these
operations. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
yProvide a means to hold the moving parts in place for applications involving
vertical travel. In the position control mode, the motor will lose its holding
torque when the power is turned o. In all other modes, the holding torque
will be lost when the motor stops. Loss of holding torque may cause the
moving part to drop, resulting in injury or damage to the equipment.
Installation
yTo prevent the risk of electric shock, use the motor for class I equipment
only.
yInstall the motor so as to avoid contact with hands, or ground them to
prevent the risk of electric shock.
Connection
yConnect the motor securely according to the motor connection method
explained in the OPERATING MANUAL Driver or USER MANUAL. Failure to
do so may result in re or electric shock.
yDo not forcibly bend, pull or pinch the cables. Doing so may result in re or
electric shock.
Repair, disassembly and modication
yDo not disassemble or modify the motor. This may cause electric shock or
injury. Refer all such internal inspections and repairs to the branch or sales
oce from which you purchased the product.

Handling the product without observing the instructions that accompany a
“Caution”symbol may result in injury or property damage.
General
yDo not use the motor beyond its specications, or electric shock, injury or
damage to equipment may result.
yDo not touch the motor during operation or immediately after stopping.
The surface is hot and may cause a skin burn(s).
Transportation
yDo not hold the motor output shaft or motor cable. This may cause injury.
Installation
yProvide a cover over the rotating parts (output shaft) of the motor to
prevent injury.
Operation
yDo not touch the rotating parts (output shaft) of the motor during
operation. This may cause injury.
yProvide an emergency stop device or emergency stop circuit external to
the equipment so that the entire equipment will operate safely in the event
of a system failure or malfunction. Failure to do so may result in injury.
yThe motor’s surface temperature may exceed 70 °C
(158 °F), even under normal operating conditions. If a
motor is accessible during operation, post a warning label
shown in the gure in a conspicuous position to prevent
the risk of skin burn(s). Warning label
yFor the power supply input to the electromagnetic brake, use a DC power
supply with reinforced insulation on the primary side.
Maintenance and inspection
yTo prevent the risk of electric shock, do not touch the terminals while
measuring the insulation resistance or conducting a voltage-resistance test.
Disposal
yTo dispose of the motor, disassemble it into parts and components as much
as possible and dispose of individual parts/components as industrial waste.
Precautions for use
This section covers limitations and requirements the user should consider
when using the product.
•Always use the cable (supplied or accessory) to connect the
motor and driver.
Be sure to use the cable (supplied or accessory) to connect the motor and
driver. In the following condition, an appropriate accessory cable must be
purchased separately.
yIf a xible cable is to be used.
yIf a cable of 3 m (9.8 ft.) or longer is to be used.
•Conduct the insulation resistance measurement or withstand
voltage test separately on the motor and the driver.
Conducting the insulation resistance measurement or withstand voltage
test with the motor and driver connected may result in injury or damage to
equipment.
•Do not apply a radial load and axial load in excess of the
specied permissible limit.
Operating the motor under an excessive radial load and axial load may
damage the motor bearings (ball bearings). Be sure to operate the motor
within the specied permissible limit of radial load and axial load.

•Do not use the electromagnetic brake to reduce speed or as a
safety brake.
The electromagnetic brake is of non-excitation type. Although it helps
maintain the position of the load in the event of power outage, etc., this brake
cannot securely hold the load in place. Always stop the motor rst, and then
use the electromagnetic brake to maintain the position of the load.
•Preventing electrical noise
See USER MANUAL for measures with regard to noise.
•About grease of geared motor
On rare occasions, a small amount of grease may ooze out from the geared
motor. If there is concern over possible environmental damage resulting from
the leakage of grease, check for grease stains during regular inspections.
Alternatively, install an oil pan or other device to prevent leakage from
causing further damage. Oil leakage may lead to problems in the customer’s
equipment or products.
•Make sure not to hit or apply a strong impact on the motor
output shaft or the encoder.

when operating the motor with key in a state where a load is not
installed.
Flying o the key may result in injury or damage to equipment.

Location for installation
The motor is designed and manufactured to be incorporated in equipment.
Install it in a well-ventilated location that provides easy access for inspection.
The location must also satisfy the following conditions:
yInside an enclosure that is installed indoors (provide vent holes)
yOperating ambient temperature 0 to +40 °C (+32 to +104 °F) (non-freezing)
yOperating ambient humidity 85% or less (non-condensing)
yArea that is free of explosive atmosphere or toxic gas (such as sulfuric gas)
or liquid
yArea not exposed to direct sun
yArea not subject to splashing oil (oil droplets) or other liquids
yArea free of excessive salt
yArea not subject to continuous vibration or excessive shocks
yArea free of excessive electromagnetic noise (from welders, power
machinery, etc.)
yArea free of radioactive materials, magnetic elds or vacuum
y1000 m (3300 ft.) or lower above sea level
Installation direction
The motor can be installed in any direction. There is an exception, however,
in humid places, areas subject to mist and other environments where water
accumulates easily. In such environments, the motor should be installed in
the direction whereby the motor cable extends downward.
Installation method
To allow for prevent vibration, install the motor on a metal surface of
sucient strength. Install the motor in a location where heat dissipation
capacity equivalent to a level achieved with a heat sink (made of aluminum) is
ensured. Refer to the table below for the heak sink.

Since the tightening torque of the PJ geared type is large, using a
mechanically weak mounting plate or screws may cause damage.
Satisfy the following conditions for the mounting plate and screws.
Also, be sure to tighten with the specied torque.
Material of mounting plate: Steel
Mounting screw: Use a Bolt which tensile strength rank is 12.9 or
higher
zNote for when the installation method B or D is used
If washers are used with the installation method B or D, make sure the washer
type and size are correct.
The washers may come into contact with the motor ange, causing improper
installation.
Refer to the table below, and use suitable washers in which the bolts are
completely seated.

Installing a load
When connecting a load to the motor, align the centers of the motor’s
output shaft and load shaft. Be careful not to damage the output shaft or the
bearings (ball bearings) when installing a coupling or pulley to the motor’s
output shaft.
zElectromagnetic brake motor
To release the electromagnetic brake and install the load, a DC power supply
is needed to power the electromagnetic brake. Use an extension cable for
electromagnetic brake to connect a DC power supply of 24 VDC±10% to the
motor.
Unit models come with an extension cable for electromagnetic brake.

Connecting to the driver
Refer to the OPERATING MANUAL Driver or USER MANUAL for the connection
method. After the cables have been interconnected, cover each connector
with the connector cover.

Grounding the motor
Connect the lead wire for Protective Earth Terminal of the "cable for motor", to
the Protective Earth Terminal on the driver.

Inspection
It is recommended that periodic inspections be conducted for the items listed
below after each operation of the motor. If an abnormal condition is noted,
discontinue any use and contact your nearest oce.

yAre any of the motor mounting screws loose?
yCheck for any unusual noises in the motor’s bearings (ball bearings) or
other moving parts.
yAre the motor’s output shaft and load shaft out of alignment?
yAre there any scratches, signs of stress or loose driver connections in the
motor cable?

Motor cable set is needed to connect the motor and driver. Each set includes
two cables, one for motor and the other for encoder.
The connection cable set for electromagnetic brake includes three cables, one
each for motor, encoder and electromagnetic brake.
