OPERATION / ANVÄNDNING
949 PIT WASTE OIL UNIT Information Sheet
Suitable for gravity draining of engine, gearbox and differential oil from all vehicles which can be placed
over a pit. The sludge filter on the top of the unit can be used to support oil filters for draining.
Assembly ;
The unit is supplied with the castor arms
removed (to avoid damage during shipping
and to minimise the package size) these
must be fitted before the unit can be used.
All castor arms are identical to simplify fitting
and are mounted in the open ends of the
side tubes ensuring that the castor wheels
are facing downwards. The fixing screws
mounted in the side tubes are M8 and
require the use of a 13mm A/F spanner to
tighten them in the required position
determined by the width of the pit walls.
To ensure the safest operating conditions,
when in use, always try to extend the castor
arms equally at each end of the tank.
Slide Castor Arms

the unit
Fully tighten the 2
clamping screws
at each end of the
side tubes to lock
the Castor arms in
the operating
position
Safety ;
•Before using check that the unit rolls
freely from one end of the pit to the other
and that the castors are well supported.
•Do not allow tools or debris onto the
castor track.
•Do not ride on, or place heavy objects
on the unit.
•Always check that the pit is clear of
obstacles before moving the unit.
•Always clean up any oil spills as soon as
possible.
When the unit is full (level with the underside of
the filter mesh) it can be emptied from the outlet
port at the bottom of the tank. This is supplied with
a 3/4"bsp quick release coupling to enable simple
hose connection to a suitable waste oil pump
(mounted either in the pit or in close proximity to
the pit) to pump the oil to a designated bulk
storage vessel.
Pit waste oil units are available with an air
operated pump mounted to the side of the unit for
use in pits without easy access to pumping
facilities.
