Introduction to this booklet
This booklet guides you in how to use and maintain your new
hearing instrument. Please read the booklet carefully including
the Warnings section. This will help you to achieve the full benet
of your new hearing instrument.
Your Hearing Care Professional has adjusted the hearing
instrument to meet your needs. If you have additional questions,
please contact your Hearing Care Professional.

Indication for use
The hearing aid is intended to amplify and transmit sound to the ear
and thereby compensate for impaired hearing within mild to severe-
to-profound hearing loss. The hearing aid is intended for use by adults
and children older than 36 months.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The hearing instrument amplication is uniquely adjusted and optimized
to your personal hearing capabilities during the instrument tting
performed by your Hearing Care Professional.

Identify left and right instrument
It is important to distinguish between the left and the right hearing
aid, as they may be programmed dierently.
You can nd left/right color indicators in the battery drawer and on
60 and 85 speakers as shown. Indicators can also be found on 100
speakers and some earpieces.
Battery
Your hearing instrument is a miniature electronic device that runs on
special batteries. To activate the hearing instrument, you must insert
a new battery in the battery drawer. See how in the “Replace the
battery” section.
A RED indicator marks the
RIGHT instrument.
A BLUE indicator marks the
LEFT instrument.

Turn the hearing instrument ON and OFF
The battery drawer is also used to switch the hearing instrument
on and o. To preserve the battery, make sure your instrument is
switched o when you are not wearing it.
When to replace a battery
When it is time to replace the battery you will hear two beeps
repeated in moderate intervals until the battery runs out.
Two beeps
= The battery is running low
Four beeps
= The battery has run out
Battery maintenance tip
To make sure the hearing instrument is always working, bring spare
batteries with you, or replace the battery before you leave home.

Note: The batteries need to be replaced more often if you are streaming audio or music to your hearing aids.

Replace the battery
2. Uncover 3. Insert
Fully open the
battery drawer.
Remove the battery.
Remove the sticky
label from the + side
of the new battery.
Tip:
Wait 2 minutes so that
the battery can draw air,
to ensure optimal function.
Insert the new battery
into the battery
drawer. Make sure the
+ side faces up.

MultiTool
Close the battery drawer. The
instrument will play a jingle
through the earpiece.
Hold the earpiece close to your
ear to hear the jingle.
The MultiTool can be used for
battery change. Use the magnetic
end to remove and insert batteries.
The MultiTool is provided by
your Hearing Care Professional.

Caring for your hearing instrument
When handling your hearing instrument, hold it over a soft surface
to avoid damage if you drop it.
Clean the microphone openings
Carefully brush away debris from
the openings. Gently brush the
surface. Make sure the brush is
clean and that it is not pressed
into the openings.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the hearing instrument. It must never be
washed or immersed in water or other liquids.

MultiTool for handling batteries and cleaning
The MultiTool contains a magnet which makes it easier to replace the
battery in the hearing aid. It also contains a brush and a wire loop for
cleaning and removing ear wax. If you need a new MultiTool please
contact your hearing care professional.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
The MultiTool has a built-in magnet. Keep the MultiTool 30 cm away from
credit cards and other magnetically sensitive devices.

Put on the instrument
The speaker brings the sound into
your ear. The speaker should
always be used with an earpiece
attached. Use only parts
designed for your hearing
instrument.
If the speaker has an ear grip,
place it in the ear so it follows
the contour of the ear
(see step 3).

Standard earpieces: dome or Grip Tip
Both domes and Grip Tips are made of soft rubber material. There are
4 dierent types of domes. Check your dome type and size below.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
If the earpiece is not on the speaker when removed from the ear,
the earpiece might still be in the ear canal. Consult your hearing care
professional for further instructions.
Replace dome or Grip Tip
The earpiece (dome or Grip Tip) should not be cleaned. If the earpiece
is lled with wax, replace it with a new one. Grip Tip should be
replaced at least once a month.
Hold on to the
speaker and then
pull o the earpiece.
Insert the speaker
exactly into the
middle of the
earpiece to obtain
a rm attachment.
Push rmly to ensure
that the earpiece is
fastened securely.

Replace ProWax miniFit lter

Remove the tool from
the shell. The tool
has two pins, one
empty for removal
and one with the
new wax lter.
Push the empty
pin into the wax
lter in the speaker
and pull it out.
Insert the new wax
lter using the other
pin, remove the tool
and throw it out.

Note:
If you use a mold it requires that the hearing care professional replaces the wax lter in the speaker.
ProWax miniFit lter
The speaker has a white wax lter attached to the end where the
earpiece is attached. The wax lter prevents wax and debris from
damaging the speaker. If the lter becomes clogged, please replace
the wax lter or contact your hearing care professional.
Remove the earpiece from the speaker before replacing the wax lter.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Always use the same type of wax lter as was originally supplied with the
hearing aid. If you are in any doubt about the use or replacement of wax
lters, contact your hearing care professional.

Wax lter
Clean the MicroMold, LiteTip, or Power Mold
The mold should be
cleaned regularly.
The mold has a wax lter
that must be replaced when
clogged or if the hearing aid
does not sound normal.
Always use the wax lter
provided by your hearing
care professional.
The vent is cleaned
by pressing the brush
through the hole,
twisting it slightly.

Micromold, LiteTip, or Power ex mold
There are three dierent types of molds: Micromold, LiteTip,
and Power ex mold. Micromold and LiteTip are available in two
dierent materials. The earpieces are customized for your ear.

Optional features and accessories
The features and accessories described on the following pages are
optional. Please contact your Hearing Care Professional to nd out
how your hearing instrument is programmed.
If you experience dicult listening situations, a special program may
be helpful. These are programmed by your Hearing Care Professional.
Write down hearing situations where you may need help.
Mute the hearing instrument
Use the mute function if you need to silence the instrument while
wearing it.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Do not use the mute function as an o switch, as the hearing instrument
still draws current from the battery in this mode.
Apply a very long press to the
button to mute the instrument.
To reactivate the instrument,
push the button briey.

Note that if you have two instruments,
the RIGHT instrument switches forward
from e.g. program 1 to 2 and the LEFT
instrument switches backwards from e.g.
program 4 to 3.
Change programs
Your hearing instrument can have up to 4 dierent programs.
These are programmed by your Hearing Care Professional.

When you have two instruments, the push button allows you to
adjust the volume in both ears. You will hear a click when you turn the
volume up or down.
Quick reset
If you wish to return to the standard settings of the instrument
programmed by your Hearing Care Professional, simply open and then
close the battery drawer.

Tamper-resistant battery drawer
To keep the battery out of reach of infants, small children and
people with learning diculties, a tamper-resistant battery drawer
should be used. Use a small screwdriver to open the drawer.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Avoid using excessive force to open the battery drawer. Do not force the
battery drawer beyond its fully opened position. Make sure to insert the
battery correctly.
Please contact your Hearing Care Professional if you suspect the
tamper-resistant eectiveness and locking ability is damaged.
Insert the screwdriver into the slit on the back of the hearing
instrument. Close the drawer using your ngers. Make sure the
drawer is completely closed.

Other options
Autophone
is a program that can be automatically activated if
your telephone has a built-in tele loop. A magnet
may need to be placed on your telephone next to the
sound outlet.

Wireless accessories
As an enhancement to your wireless hearing aid a broad range of
wireless accessories are available.
ConnectLine
ConnectLine is a family of
products that allows you to
receive audio signals from TVs,
phones, music players, PCs or an
external microphone wirelessly
through your hearing aid.
Remote Control
The Remote Control oers an
opportunity to change program
or adjust the volume in your
hearing aid.
