
3. GENERAL
Inthisvortex flowmeter, apiezoelectricsensortype Deltaflowmeterprovenineveryindustrialfield
(EX DELTAⅡand EX DELTAⅡ) is combined with the data transmission technology pursuant to the H1
low-rate Fieldbus specications prescribed by the Fieldbus Foundation, enabling the operator to make
sophisticated ow measurements. It replaces the traditional 4-20mA analog one-way communications
with digital interactive communications; can acquire various information at the same time. When linked
withotherFieldbuscompatiblecontrollers,theoperatorcanbuildauser-friendlyandreliableeldnetwork
systemintheprocessautomationeld.
Theeld-provenEXDELTAⅡDiaisaliquid-serviceorientedvortexowmeterdedicatedfor“dirty”ows.
It justies its use particularly in applications where rusty components present a problem, or where the
processuidcontainslargequantitiesof foreignmatterthat tendtobuildup intheline.It substantially
reduces problems that come with other type owmeters or traditional vortex owmeters, and ensures
stableowmeteringovermanyyears.

➀ Meter Body (probe): Consists of a measuring pipe and a vortex shedding body (bluff body). As the
meteredmaterialows,vonKarmanvorticesformandshedbehindthebluffbody.
➁ Sensor (vortex sensing element): Has a built-in piezoelectric sensor. All wetted parts are made of
stainlesssteelformaximumlifeexpectancy.
➂ Adapter(shaftassembly):Connectsthemeterbodywiththepreamplier.Tobeinstalledinthepipeline
withaange.Alsoservestoguardthesensoragainstdamageanddissipateheat.
➃ Preamplier:Transformschangesinelectricchargesgeneratedfromthesensorintoanoutputsignal
representingtheowrate.Consistsoftheinterfaceboard,amplierboard,isolationboard,CPUboard,
and display. Output comes in three types - unfactored pulse output, factored pulse output and analog
output.

Physicalorientationofthepreamplierisadjustableinstepsof90deg.aroundthe
