Using the plastic trim tools,
unhook the left-hand side of the
rear-view mirror cover.
Using the plastic trim tools, unclip
the radio surround.
Remove screws 1, 2, 3 and 4
around the car stereo, then
disconnect the connector and
the aerial cables.
Unscrew screws 5 and 6 from the
air conditioning unit.

Unclip the cover then remove it
taking care not to disconnect anything
Place the cover on the top.
Unscrew screws 7, 8, 9 and 10
located at the top of the glove
box.

Unscrew screws 11 and 12 located
under the glove box.
Using the plastic trim tools,
unclip the cover underneath the
steering wheel.
Using the plastic trim tools,
unclip the driver's side of the
dashboard.
Remove the door seal.

Finding an IGN wire
Using a guide, feed an electric
wire from under the steering
wheel to the car stereo control
housing. Feed the wire to the left
into the fusebox housing.
Fit a 1.5 mm terminal and insert it
into one of the small fuse slots at
the top of the box (using a
multimeter, check that the +12V
supply is indeed controlled by the
ignition key).
Connect the +IGN using a male
round terminal to the blue wire
of the 84942 adapter in front of
the fuse holder or on the red
wire of the 86492 or
YY138CABL2 adapter.

Wiring the microphone
Using a guide, feed the cable from
the cabin light to the windscreen.
Glue the bracket (supplied) to the
left of the rear-view mirror cover,
after having thoroughly
degreased the surface.
Using a guide, feed the cable from
along the windscreen under the
head liner.
Slide the cable along the driver's
door pillar while replacing the
door seal.
Feed the cable through the
fusebox.

Using a guide, feed the cable
under the steering wheel
towards the car stereo housing.

Feeding the accessory cable
On the top of the glovebox, break
the cable blank.
Using a guide, feed the cable into
the top part of the glove
compartment and towards the air
conditioning control unit housing.

Then feed the cable being careful
to leave enough length.

Fitting the hands-free system 1 / 2
Bring out the original connector from below and slide
it towards the top in the air conditioning housing.
Then feed the adapter connector to the radio.
Connect the adaptor to the original connector and
connect all of the wires to the blue box as shown in
the diagram below. Test the assembly before
completing fitting and then slide everything behind
the air conditioning control unit.

When reassembling TAKE CARE
not to cut the wire with the radio
fixings.
Then position the screen.

Testing
Before refitting the system, switch the kit on using the
ignition (or by starting the car). By pushing the central knob
of the remote control, check:
1 - that the menu is displayed on the screen (language or
iPod etc)
2 - that the radio system is muted when the kit is in use (click
in the blue box)
3 - that the sound through all speakers is properly muted
4 - that there is sound through the front speakers for spoken
menus
5 - then turn off the ignition, verify that the kit turns off and
that the message “goodbye” is displayed on the screen
(otherwise reverse the fuses on the kit power supply
harness)
6 - pair a telephone with the kit and make a call (check that
both the microphone and the kit are working)

Reassembly
Refit the system using the following procedure:
1 - refit the cover on the left-hand side of the dashboard
2 - refit the cover under the steering wheel
3 - clip back the air conditioning surround and replace screws 5 and 6
4 –reconnect the adaptor and the aerials behind the car stereo and slip them
inside the housing (make sure that you do not trap and cut any screen wires)
5 - refit the 4 screws (1, 2, 3 and 4) for the car stereo
6 - refit the radio surround, paying attention to the screen cable
7 - replace the glove box and replace the 6 screws (7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12)
8 - retest to check that the system is working correctly
