Before getting started
Charging the battery
1. Insert the battery into the compartmentprovided (photos A and B). The small
triangle
on the battery indicates which side should be on top. The direction the
triangle
is pointing in showswhich waythebatteryshould be inserted.
2. Plug in the MiniDrone (photosC and D):
• When using achargerwith a minimum power rating of 2.4 A, charging time is
approximately 25 minutes.
• When charging through a
computer using the USB cable, charging time is
approximately1 hourand 30 minutes.
To remove the battery lift theflap located abovethe batteryand slide it out.
Downloading the app
Log into the App StoreTM or Google PlayTM and downloadthefree FreeFiight3 app.

Switching on the MiniDrone
Insert the battery into the slot or press the On/Off button
underneath the MiniDrone.
[The on/off button is located under the Mini Drone, below
and to the right of the vertical camera.]
Then
place your MiniDrone on a flat surface so it can
complete its initialisation phase.
The eyes
of the Mini Drone will turn red, amber, and then green.
Connecting a smartphone
You need a smartphone or tablet which supports Bluetooth® 4.0 to use the
Mini Drone. Check whether your smartphone is compatible on www.parrot.com/uk/
compatibility .
Since
the MiniDrone uses 8/uetooth® Low Energy, it will not be displayed in the
normal list of 8/uetooth® devices shown on your phone. You will only be able to
see it and connect to it via the FreeFiight3 app.
1. Activate the 8/uetooth® function on your smartphone.
2. Launch the FreeFiight3 app.
3. Press = to bring up the list of Mini Drones located near your smartphone.
> The MiniDrone will connect to your smartphone automatically. A pop-up
window saying .. Sending status .. and then .. Connected .. will appear.
>The 0 icon shows which Mini Drone is currently connected.
> The ~ icon indicates the status of the 8/uetooth® connection between your
smartphone and the MiniDrone. The number of bars displayed indicates the
quality of the connection.
If your phone doesn•t automatically connect to the Mini Drone, select the name of
your Mini Drone from the list.

6 Flying
Flying
1. Launch the FreeFiight3 app.
>The main screen will appear.
2. Press Free Flight to control the MiniDrone in Normal mode. Controller mode
lets you film your MiniDrone with your smartphone while you are flying it. To
activate
filming mode go to SETIINGS>PILOTING MODE and once JOYPAD
mode has been selected tap on the CAMERA button. For more information on
control modes, see the Controlling the MiniDrone in flight section.
>The control screen will appear.
A
pop-up will ask you to choose the control mode
for your MiniDrone:
• the
MiniDrone without hulls,
• the MiniDrone with hulls.

Before each take off (especiallyafter an impact or fall), check that the MiniDrone is
placed
on a flat surface and press B- .

Take Off
Place the MiniDrone on a dry, flat surface, ensuring there are no obstacles in the
way, and press Take Off.
>The MiniDrone will take off and stabilise at approximately 1 meter in height.
You can also also have
the MiniDrone take off from your hand. To do this:

1. Press - .
>The MiniDrone LED eyes will blink red and green rapidly.
2. Throw the MiniDrone in front of you, up, or simply take away your hand to let it
fall.
> The
motors for the MiniDrone propellers will start automatically and the
MiniDrone will hovers.

8 Flying
Flights depend on the settings for the selected control mode: Controller, Normal
or Expert. Normal mode is selected by default. To change the control mode, go
to the Control Settingssection.

Press C or 8 to pivot the
MiniDrone to the left or right.
•
Press /\. on V or to make the
MiniDrone climb or descend.
Rightjoystick (accelerometer)
•
Press on the joystick and tilt your
smartphone up and down to move
the MiniDrone forwards or
backwards.
•
Tilt your smartphone left or right to
move the MiniDrone to the left or
right.

Expert
Left joystick
• Press C or ~ to pivot the
Mini Drone to the left or right.
• Press A
on V or to make the
Mini Drone climb or descend.
• Hold down the middle button and tilt
your smartphone to move the
Mini Drone.

the joystick to the ~ or ~ to make
a
quarter turn to the left or right.

Mini Drone climb or descend.
The Controller mode lets you film the MiniDrone with the camera on your
smartphone while you are flying it.
To do so once camera mode has been activated, press e Videos are
automaticallysaved
to the gallery in the FreeFiight3 app.

To stop recording, press • again.
Pre-programmed aerobatics
1. Press the Loop icon ~ to bring up the list of pre-programmed aerobatics.
By default, no trick is selected.

>The icon is displayed in place of *.
3. Tap yoursmartphone screen twice to perform the selected trick.
4. Press on the aerobatic icon again to edit it.
Light effects
Press -}:!..- to displaythe list of light effects for the MiniDrone headlights.
Slide
the cursor in the middle of the screen up or down to increase or decrease the
brightness
of the headlights.
Press @ to make the headlightsflash.
Press I\., to continuouslyvary the brightness of the lights.
Press X to close the list of light effects.
Landing
10 Flying
Make sure that the MiniDrone is above a flat, dry and unobstructed surface, then
press Landing
to land your MiniDrone.
Only press Emergency in the event
of a genuine emergency. The motors will
