telecommunicationsneedsofsmalltomediumbusinessoffices.
TheSuite64isafullydigitalhybridkeytelephonesystem.Utilizing“LoopStart”
centraloffice(TelephoneCompany)lineinterfacesinconjunctionwithanalogand
digitalextensionports,itprovidesofficecommunicationsandconnectivitytothe
PublicSwitchedTelephoneNetwork(PSTN).
TheSuite64offersaplethoraofofficeproductivityfeaturesandtelephone
enhancingfeaturesthatincludeCallerIdentification(requiredTelephone
Companysubscription)inthestandardpackage.Unlikemostsystemsthatsupport
CallerID,theSuite64supportsCallerIDtoSuite64proprietarydigitalextensions
andtothird‐party,CallerIDcapableanalogdevices(cordlesstelephones,etc.)

KSU’s(KSU1andKSU2)maybeequippedtoattainthetotalsystemcapacityof24
COlines,58Extensions(46digitaland18analog)and8VoiceProcessing
Channels.EachKSUisdesignedtobemountedonthewallandisshippedwitha
wallmountingtemplate.ThecompactKSUweighslessthan20poundsandisUL
Listed.
Ifusing2KSU’s,thefirstKSU,orKSU1isfactoryequippedwithone610+2Board,
oneCCB(CommonControlBoard).ThesecondKSUorKSU2isfactoryequipped
withoneBaseBoardmodule.EachKSUisaself‐containedcabinetcontainingan
internalpowersupplyforeither117vacor230vacoperation.Atthetimeof
shippingitissetfor117vacoperation.Fromtheexterior,withcoversinplace,
KSU1andKSU2lookidentical,however,KSU1containstheCommonControl
Board(CCB).

areshippedwiredfor117vacapplications.Afactoryprovidedswitchalternates
between230vacand117vacapplications.Theoutputvoltageisdeliveredtothe
610+2Board(inKSU1,BaseBoardinKSU2)forvoltageregulation.Allsystem
operationandlogicvoltagesareproducedattheseboards.
Twofusesareprovidedonthepowersupplyboard;oneforacenterover‐voltage
protectionandoneforDCoutputover‐currentprotection.Amainpowerswitchis
accessibleonthesideofeachKSU.Intheeventbatterybackupoperationis
desiredtheKSUpowercordcanbeconnectedwithanexternal(ancillary)UPS
(UninterruptiblePowerSupply).Itistheresponsibilityoftheinstallertomatchthe
batteryrequirements/UPSrequirementtothespecificneedsoftheequipment
owner.

processingdataswitchingisaccomplishedviatheCCB.
TheCCBhasoneribboncableconnectorforconnectiontotheKSU1610+2board
andfive(5)connectorsocketsforconnectionofthesystembuilt‐inmodem,voice
processorand2ndCabinet(KSU2).SincetheCCBcomesinstalledinsideofKSU1
theCCBribboncableisalreadyinplaceandconnectedtotheKSU1‐610+2.
AssumingtheorientationoftheKSU1cabinetisinstalledonthewall;thetwo
horizontalconnectorsocketsinthelowerleftcorneroftheCCBarefortheModem
Module.Theconnectorsocketlabeled“2ndCabinet”isforconnectiontothe
KSU2‐BaseBoardifthatexpansionisrequired.Theremainingtwoconnector
socketsontheCCB,oneattheleftside,theotherattherightsideareforthevoice
processorsolution.(Thevoiceprocessorsolutioncanbeanyofthreepossible

powerupsequenceiscompleted.Howevershouldtheneedarisetoreturn
thesitedatabasetothefactorysettingsthisjumperisusedtoaccomplishthe
task.
•JP81Internal/External:J81isusedtoselecttheMusicChannel1source.The
Suite64providesasynthesizedmusicsourceformusiconholdinapplica‐
tionswherenomusicsourceisavailable.Thesynthesizedtuneisrepeated.
JP7isinthe“External”positionwhenitshipsfromthefactory.
TheCCBisequippedwithaHeart‐beatLEDthatindicatesprocessingactivityon
thePCB.(The610+2peripheralprocessorisoperatingwhentheHeartbeatLEDis
flashing.)TheKSU1operationLED(locatednexttothepowerswitch)istiedto
theCCBHeartbeatLED.Therefore,whentheLEDnexttothepowerswitchis
