Introduction
Thank you for choosing our product. The Modular Spray Trainer is a brand
new effective aid for correcting unwanted behaviour of your dog.
Important
• Read the instructions and safety instructions before using the product.
• The Modular Spray Trainer can also be used as a remote trainer in
conjunction with a Modular Remote (sold separately). Without this
remote control, it automatically reacts to your dog’s barking (anti-bark
mode) and emits a spray signal.
Good to know
• In the following, the Modular Spray Trainer means the training collar
and the Modular Remote the remote control.
• In the following, we will talk about remote training if the training collar
is operated manually using the separately available remote control.
• The anti-bark mode describes the function in which the collar
responds to a dog’s barking.
Safety information
For safe initial operation, please note the following:
• Our products are designed exclusively for training dogs.
• Only suitable for targeted training units and not for continuous use
(max. 1-2 h per day).
• Keep away from children.
• Do not unscrew or modify the device yourself.
• Do not expose the device to hot sources such as fire or prolonge
direct sunlight.
• Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.

Initial operation
To switch off the Modular Spray Trainer, the switch-off button must be
pressed for several seconds until you hear a beep.
The trainer is activated by pressing the power button (about 3 seconds)
and a number in blue can be seen on the display. This number represents
the current battery level and can vary between 0 and 5. A »0« indicates
the weakest battery level, whereas a »5« means that the battery is fully
charged.

Filling the training collar
The Modular Spray Trainer must be turned off
before filling with spray. Place the filling spout
positioned vertically on the filling valve. When the
filling spout is positioned correctly, fill the trainer
by pressing it down lightly for 15 seconds.
Note: To completely empty the tank of the PetTec
Modular Spray Trainer, press down lightly on the
filling valve with a screwdriver.
Attaching the collar
The collar must be properly secured so that the spray signal will be effective.
You can test for a proper fit by ensuring that you can fit one or two fin-
gers beneath the collar. The optimal position of the PetTec Modular Spray
Trainer is directly under the dog’s nose.
Be careful that the collar is not too tight, but do not allow it to slip; otherwise
the spray signal will not be effective.

Application
Microphone sensitivity adjustment button
The Modular Spray Trainer has 5 different sensitivity levels, which
can be adjusted with the help of the setting button. At level 5, the
trainer is most sensitive to barking, whereas level 1 is the least
sensitive setting.
Tone level setting button
The Modular Spray Trainer offers 5 different tone levels. Level 1 is
the shortest tone signal, while
5 is the most intense and longest
tone level. If level 0 is selected, the training signal is switched off.
Spray strength setting button
Overall, the Modular Spray Trainer offers exactly 5 different spray
intensities. 1 is the lowest spray intensity, level 5 the strongest
spray level. If level 0 is selected, the training signal is switched off.

Individually suitable training signal strengths
The Modular Spray Trainer offers 5 different training signal levels, with
level 1 being the weakest signal and level 5 being the strongest. The
right training signal level for your dog, whether sound or spray signal,
depends on the temperament and the sensitivity to the respective signal.
Therefore, always start with the weakest level and work your way up until
you have found the right strength. Your dog shows a slight reaction when
the appropriate training signal level has been found. One of these reactions
can be seen, for example, by the tension in the neck muscles. If the training
signal remains unnoticed, a higher level is necessary.
Maximum range in connection with the separately available Modular
Remote* control
The Modular Spray Trainer in conjunction with the Modular Remote can
transmit training signals over a distance of 600 m. The range may vary
depending on the environment. To maximise the range, the remote control
can be held up higher. In conjunction with the remote control, the Modular
Spray Trainer no longer reacts to your dog’s barking, but only to the push of
a button on the remote control.
*Modular Remote is sold separately.

Charging the battery
• Charge the battery fully before the first use; this can take up to 4 hours.
• Do not charge the battery near flammable substances.
• The device’s battery must be fully charged if it was last used more than
three months ago.
The battery requires charging when:
• a »1« can be seen on the display of the trainer during operation.
• the spray is weaker than usual (unless you need to refill spray).
• the trainer can no longer be switched on.
• a »1« or »0« can be seen on the display.
The charge status of the battery can be tracked using the display. The hig-
her the number on the display, the more fully the battery is charged. The
Modular Spray Trainer is thus fully charged when a »5« can be seen on the
display.
Important notes
• The Modular Spray Trainer is only partially charged when shipped. The
first full battery charge takes up to 4 hours.
• The trainer can be used with any commercially available micro USB
charger.

Charging the Modular Spray Trainer
Fully charge the Modular Spray Trainer battery using the micro USB
charging cable until a »5« is shown on the display. As long as the dis-
play shows a number between »1« and »4«, the battery is not fully
charged.
Charging the trainer
• To charge, open the rubber cover on the bottom of the Modular Spray
Trainer and plug the micro USB charging cable into the opening
provided.
• Then connect the USB port to the adapter and plug the charger into an
electrical outlet.
• A full charging phase takes about 2 hours, the first charge about 4
hours.
• The Modular Spray Trainer can be charged with any commercially
available micro USB charger. Alternatively, the Modular Spray
Trainer can also be charged with USB connections from notebooks,
power banks and similar devices.

Proper dog training
Good dog training is the key to a harmonious coexistence of dog and
person, but dog owners often come up against their own limits when
raising their four-legged friends.
The Modular Spray Trainer is an innovative aid for your other kind of dog
training in order to effectively get rid of undesirable behaviours in your pet.
The Modular Spray Trainer reacts immediately to your dog’s barking and
triggers a spray signal. Your dog links the barking in the training situation
directly with this signal and usually refrains from barking immediately.
Please note that the trainer is a training device and not a toy, which should
always be used carefully. We would therefore like to ask you at this point, to
take the following advice into consideration:
Before the training
1. Make sure your dog’s misconduct is not due to a lack of physical
activity or health problems. In this case, please do not use the trainer
and seek professional advice.
2. Use the trainer in anti-bark mode only in closed rooms. Make sure
that no loud external noises can trigger the trainer in an uncontrolled
manner.
3. Get your dog used to the Modular Spray Trainer for a day before
turning it on.
4. Select a familiar environment for the training.
During the trainings
1. If your dog’s behaviour is disturbed, remove the trainer immediately. The
trainer is not intended for daily use, but only for targeted training ses-
sions.
2. Train with your dog under supervision for a maximum of 1-2 hours a day.
Remove the trainer after each training and switch it off.
3. Check after the 2nd to 3rd try to see if your dog responds to the Modular
Spray Trainer and refrains from barking. If your dog does not respond,
you should use a different training method.
4. Always reward your dog after successful training runs!

Connecting the remote and trainer
Important
• The Modular Spray Trainer can only be connected to the PetTec
Modular Remote, so you can also use the device for remote training.
The remote control Modular Remote is available separately!

• Read the instructions and safety instructions for the Modular Remote
carefully before use.
• Only connect and disconnect the Modular Remote if the training collar
has not been attached to the dog.
Tips
• Please fully charge the remote control and training collar before
connecting.
• The Modular Remote (sold separately) works with both training
collars, both the Modular Spray and the Modular Vibra Trainer
(sold separately).
• Up to 2 training collars can be connected to the Modular Remote.
Accordingly, you can use a Modular Vibra as well as a Modular Spray
Trainer combined with the Modular Remote.

1. Turn on the training collar and check the battery level.
2. Then press the »S« (Sensitivity) button on the training collar for seve-
ral seconds until a »P« (Pairing) lights up on the display. The training
collar is now in connection mode for approx. 20 seconds.
3. Now take the Modular Remote and press the »Up« and »Light«
buttons simultaneously for several seconds. The notification LED on
the remote control now flashes red three times in succession and
signals that the connection is ready.
4. Now the remote control connects to the training collar within a few
seconds. If the connection is successful, the notification LED on the
trainer lights up green.
5. To test, press the »Light« button on the remote control. If both

devices are successfully connected, the two LEDs on the training
collar now flash.
6. Please start at step 1 if the connection between the remote control and
the training collar has failed.
General disconnection and connection of remote control and a training
collar
Disconnect both devices to use anti-bark mode
1. Make sure that both devices are switched on.
2. Now take the Modular Remote and press the »Up« and »Light«
buttons simultaneously for several seconds. The notification LED on
the remote control now flashes red three times in succession and a
double beep sounds.
3. Both devices are now separated from each other and the training
collar can be used as an anti-bark training device without any remote
control.
Reconnect remote control and collar
1. Make sure that both devices are switched on.
2. Now take the Modular Remote and press the »Up« and »Light«
buttons simultaneously for several seconds. The notification LED on
the remote control now flashes red three times in succession and
signals that the connection is ready.
3. Now the remote control connects to the training col-
lar within a few seconds. If the connection is successful, the
notification LED on the trainer lights up green.
4. Now you can use the two devices again for remote training.
Note
To connect a training collar to a completely new remote control, you have
to go through the steps of the initial connection.

1. Set the switch for selecting the training collar on the remote control
from 1 to 2.
2. Turn on the training collar and check the battery level.
3. Then press the »S« (Sensitivity) button on the training collar for several
seconds until a »P« (Pairing) lights up on the display. The training col-
lar is now in connection mode for approximately 20 seconds.
4. Now take the Modular Remote and press the »Up« and »Light«
buttons simultaneously for several seconds. The notification LED on
the remote control now flashes red three times in succession and
signals that the connection is ready.
5. Now the remote control connects to the training collar within a few
seconds. If the connection is successful, the notification LED on the
trainer lights up green.
6. To test, press the »Light« button on the remote control. If both devices
are successfully connected, the two LEDs on the training collar now
flash.
7. Please start at step 1 if the connection between the remote control and
the training collar has failed.

What ingredients does the
spray contain?
Which sprays can I use?
Our sprays contain the ozone-friendly
aerosol HFO1234ze. The PetTec Spray is
packaged in Germany, environmentally
friendly, non-toxic, and suitable for people
and dogs with allergies.
Please use only our PetTec Spray, since
sprays from other manufacturers could
potentially harm your dog or the device.

If the Modular Spray Trainer can no longer be used, all consu-
mers are required by law to hand over the old devices sepa-
rate from household waste, for example, at a collection point
of their local community/district. This ensures that the old
appliances are properly recycled and that negative effects on
the environment are avoided. That is why electrical devices are
marked with the symbol shown here.
