Part 1 – Safety instructions
Please read this operating manual carefully before using the pfm Stretching Table 1100.
Make certain that you are familiar with the method of operation as well as the instrument‘s
operating elements. Please observe the following precaution measures during each operation
of the instrument. Failure to observe these precaution measures is contrary to the recognized
technical regulations and to the intended use of the instrument.
In the case of infringement, pfm medical gmbh does not accept any form of liability.
▸Over-temperature protection device
▸Electrical overload protection device
Before switching on the instrument for the rst time please make sure that the supply voltage and frequency at the
installation location matches the instrument specications given on the nameplate.
Please take special note of the following warnings:
▸Use only the accessories and connections which are provided
with the instrument or described in the instructions.
▸Only operate the instrument from power outlets with an
earth conductor.
▸ When replacing the fuses, observe the ex-works specication
on the nameplate.
▸Pay attention to all safety labels.
▸Do not remove any safety labels.
Protective earthing of the instrument
In order to avoid the risk of electrocution, the instrument
must be properly connected to an earth conductor.
The instrument is equipped with a mains power plug
with earth conductor (protective class I). It is very
important to check that the mains power outlet used is
equipped with an earth conductor, and that it complies
with the regulations of the International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC).
▸Do not start up the instrument if it is damaged.
▸Do not start up the instrument if it has a damaged mains
power cable.
▸Do not open the instrument housing.
▸Servicing and repair work must be undertaken only by
qualied personnel.
▸For servicing and repair work,the instrument must be
switched o and disconnected from the power supply.
Mains voltage precautions
Never remove housing components. The replacement of
components and alignment must be carried out only by
trained service technicians.

Introduction
Touch screen
The functions of the instrument are controlled with a
touch screen, which allows easy and convenient operation.
The temperature is also adjusted via the touch-screen
element, to an accuracy of +/– 1 °C.
Safety devices
In addition to the over-temperature protection device, the
mains connection is recessed in the housing and protected
against splash water with an additional cover.

Simple cleaning and maintenance processes
The housing of the pfm Stretching Table 1100 is made from
one aluminium block. The surface is anodised to a light
colour and easy to clean. The heating plate too is made
entirely of aluminium and is nished in anodised black.

Part 3 – Operating instructions
▸Dismount the packaging and remove the instrument.
▸Observe the instructions contained in the package.
▸The instrument may be set up only on non-combustible,
at surfaces.
▸Flammable and combustible substances must not be
stored in the immediate vicinity of the instrument.
Before switching on the pfm Stretching
Table 1100 for the rst time, you must
make sure that the supply voltage and
frequency specied on the nameplate
matches the mains voltage specications
at the installation location.
Connect the instrument to power
outlets with protective-earth contact
(Schuko sockets) only.
▸The instrument may be set up only indoors, and not in
locations where there is a risk of explosion.
▸Position the instrument in such a way that the mains
power plug is always accessible.
▸Room temperature always between + 10 °C and + 40 °C.
▸Relative air humidity should not exceed 80 %.
The operator is responsible for checking that the instrument is working properly and safely.
The operator shall assume responsibility for any use of special equipment and/or materials for operating the instrument.

Maintenance, cleaning and care
Once the instrument has been
switched on, the display shows the
SET TEMPERATURE as well as the
current ACTUAL TEMPERATURE.
By pressing the / button,
the desired temperature can be
selected in steps of 1 °C.
Press the MENU button on the display,
then the LANGUAGE button on the
next window shown. The current
languages are now displayed.
To select a particular language press
the corresponding button.
The screen display will automatically
return to the initial display.
When you press the INFO button,
the next window will display the
RESET button. By selecting the RESET
button, a factory reset is performed.

Depending on whether the newly
set value is higher or lower than
the current temperature, a rise or a
fall to the programmed temperature
can be observed on the display. The
temperature set will be maintained
until the next adjustment is made.
The heating range lies between the
ambient temperature and + 75 °C.
When pressing the HOME button,
you will also get back to the initial
display. The display shows the
current hardware and software
status.

Part 4 – Maintenance, cleaning and care
In order for the instrument to function reliably, it must be
cleaned by the user. Mild household detergents are suitable
for this purpose. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents
or solvents (e.g. Xylene).
In order to guarantee the reliable function of the pfm
Stretching Table 1100, routine maintenance should be
undertaken by a trained maintenance technician once a
year. pfm medical gmbh is able to service your instrument
The instrument fuses are situated on
the rear of the instrument, and are
integrated into the power switch.
In order to replace the two fuses, the
instrument must be switched o at
the mains power switch and the power
plug must be unplugged.
Before cleaning, make sure the instrument has been
switched o and has cooled down. We recommend an
annual inspection of the safety of the electrical system.

Open the small protective cover with
a small at screwdriver and remove
the fuse holder. The fuses can then be
replaced by new ones.
Display and touch screen are made of plastic and should not
be touched with hard objects. Do not use any aggressive
cleaning agent or solvents (e.g. Xylene). No glass cleaners or
detergent should be used as they contain aggressive soap
solution that attack and damage the surface. To clean the
touch screen we recommend a commercially available dry
mirober cloth.

Maintenance, cleaning and care
The product, pfm Stretching Table 1100, was carefully
inspected and tested by us.
However, in the event of any defect, apart from minor
defects, occurring in a device or spare part distributed by
us in Germany up to one year from delivery, we undertake
to remedy the defect to the extent specied below, without
prejudice to any statutory or other contractual claims,
even where the defect was not present on delivery to the
customer, provided that there has been no unauthorised
interference with the device by third parties. This does not
include any assurance of the equipment being free of wear
and tear, or any guarantee of the constitution or durability
of the device.
The remedying of defects under this undertaking shall
be carried out, at our discretion, by the replacement or
repair of defective parts. Spare parts may be supplied for
up to 5 years after the delivery of the device. Any warranty
claims on the part of the customer beyond the preceding
are hereby excluded, without prejudice to any statutory or
other contractual claims. This applies in particular to any
claims for compensation for damage, consequential damage
or costs relating to the defect. The transport of the device
to us and return transport during this period shall be at the
customer‘s risk.
To assert a claim under this undertaking, the device
involved in the complaint must be sent to us, at the
customer‘s expense and risk, with a detailed description
of the defect complained of, specifying the purchase order
number, delivery note number and invoice number.

Claims under this undertaking expire 6 months from
assertion of the claim, but not before the end of the claim
period. This undertaking and any claims, rights and
obligations arising there from are subject solely to the
material law of the Federal Republic of Germany, to the

UN Law on the Sale of Goods. Our general supply and
payment terms apply as supplementary conditions.

Part 5 – Disposal of the pfm Stretching Table 1100 when put out of use
Our Environmental Contribution:
The WEEE directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE = Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment; German: Elektro- und Elektronikge-
räte-Abfall) has been issued in Europe with the aim of reducing the increasing quantity of electronic scrap and electrical
and electronic devices that are no longer required in addition to disposing of them in an environmentally friendly manner.
In Germany, the directive was anchored in the 2005 Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), that not only
formed the basis for the implementation of the WEEE directive, but also for the RoHS (Limitation of Certain Dangerous
Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
We, pfm medical gmbh, feel responsible for our products, from the initial idea to their disposal and see the situations as
being an opportunity for us to make our contribution to the conserving of resources. As the manufacturer, we assume
responsibility for the disposal of the decommissioned equipment on your behalf.
