the straightener incorrectly, you could overheat your hair or even
burn it.Always make sure you select a temperature that is suitable for
your hair type (Fig. 2).
Always select a low temperature setting when you start using the
straightener for the rst time.
For coarse, curly or hard-to-straighten hair, select a medium to high
setting (180 and up).
For ne, medium-textured or softly waved hair, select a medium to low
setting (170 and down).
Take extra care with pale, blonde, bleached or colour-treated hair, since
it will be susceptible to damage at high temperature settings.
The display shows the selected temperature setting and the remaining
time of the straightening session.
The bars on the display show the remaining usage time of the
straightener. The total usage time is 60 minutes. Every ten minutes one
of the six bars disappears. After 60 minutes the appliance switches off.

Preparing for use
Washing your hair
Everybody wants shiny and beautiful hair. A good hair-washing routine can
help to achieve this.
1 When washing your hair, wet your hair thoroughly for 30-60 seconds.
2 Pour some TRESemmé shampoo into the palm of your hand. Spread it
between your hands and distribute it evenly through the hair.
3 Gently massage your hair and scalp. Do not rough up the hair or pull
long hair up onto the scalp, as this may cause tangles.
4 Massage your scalp with your ngertips. This stimulates blood
circulation and is gentler to the hair cuticles.
5 Rinse your hair thoroughly, as poor rinsing can result in dull hair.
Finish with a cold rinse for extra shine.
Note: after shampooing, use TRESemmé conditioner to detangle the hair and
improve its condition.
Drying your hair
To get super-smooth results it is essential to prepare your hair for
straightening. Dry your hair with a hairdryer until it is dry or almost dry to
ensure a professional, smooth nish.
1 After washing, squeeze excess water out of the hair with your hands
and then towel-dry the hair. Use a comb to disentangle the hair gently
from the roots to the tips.
2 Divide the hair into sections by means of clips, starting at the back.
3 Dry each section by pulling a straightening brush down the hair length
while following the brush with the hairdryer, with its nozzle pointing
towards the hair ends.
4 When you have nished drying each section, set the hairdryer to the
cool setting for a nal cool shot. This closes the cuticles and leaves
your hair glossier.
Using the appliance
Straightening your hair
