1 Operation Elements

2 Starting operation:
The flow-meter is delivered ready to use with following settings:
•Measuring volumes in litres, range 1 (standard mode).
•Presettable Batch Controller to 5 L (option).
•All ranges are calibrated to liquids similar to water.
Before installation remove protective caps and make sure that
•Liquid is compatible with the flow-meter material
•System pressure does not exceed the specified max. ratings
2.1 Mounting
The device must have the following run-in run out length.
R –In: minimum 75 cm with diameter ∅= 1“
R –Out: minimum 75 cm with diameter ∅= 1“
Flow- direction accordiung to arrow.
Installation position: upright, display up.
Never use mechanical tools to to screw down
3 Operating modes:
- Measuring of quantities in litres (standard mode)
- Measuring flow rate
- Presettable Batch Controller (option)
Changing between the modes is done with the key
After every press of the symbol of the chosen mode appears:
- Volume: Vol
- Flow rate: Flowrate
- Presetting: Preset
3.1 Turn on
The device is turned on by pressing or . Furthermore the flow-meter starts operation
when a minimum liquid flow is detected. In this case counting is started immediately.

3.2 Turn off
If there is no flow and no key is pressed within approx. 120 seconds the flow-meter turns off to the
standby mode to save power. All data are stored.
3.3 Volume measurement (standard mode):
Measuring volumes within up to four independent ranges Vol .
The upper numerical display shows the actual measured volume
On the lower numerical display the total sum of the selected Range is shown
With it is possible to select the ranges Range 1 to Range 4
The calibration factor of range 1 is fixed to water. The ranges 2-4 can be calibrated by the user for
other liquids (-> Calibration).
The display of the actual volume can be set to zero with the key . This concerns only the
upper display. The lower numerical display is not affected.
To set the lower numerical display to zero press and hold and press .
3.4 Flow measurement:
The upper numerical display shows the actual flow in L/min Flowrate.
The lower numerical display shows the total sum of the selected range Range

3.5 Presettable Batch Controller (Option):
In connection with the optional switching output which can be used to actuate a pump and/ or
valves the flow-meter can be used as Presettable Batch Controller.
After selecting the mode the display shows Preset and OFF .
The lower numerical display shows the last selected value.
With the keys and the value can be incremented or decremented in steps of 0,5 L.
Starting the pump is done with .The function is indicated with the symbol ON .
Reaching the given quantity the pump is switched off. (Display OFF ).
With the pump can be switched on/ off.
4 Calibration
4.1 Calibration Mode
The calibration mode is selected by pressing and holding down and pressing .
The symbol CAL appears.
In the calibration mode CAL the flow-meter can be calibrated in the ranges Range 234to liquids
other than water. The range 1 Range 1 is fixed to water like liquids and cannot be changed..
4.2 Field calibration
To calibrate the flow-meter for other liquids the following steps have to be done:
For starting calibration procedure select the calibration mode:
1. Select Range 23or 4. Switch to the calibration mode (s. 4.1).
2. Pump a known volume of liquid through the flow-meter (e.g. 20 litres). Make sure that the
selected flow rate is within the flow-meters specification.
The upper display shows the volume that is measured with the selected calibration factor.

3. With the buttons and the upper display can be changed in steps of 0,01L to the
exact volume flown through the device. If the buttons are hold down the step turns to 0,1L .
4. With the selected value has to be confirmed.
5. Press to exit the calibration mode.
Repeating the calibration can be done by entering the calibration mode again.
Note:
Without confirmation of the new value (see step 4.) the former calibration factor is kept.
5 Additional functions:
5.1 Flow direction Indication
The wings on the display turn clockwise if the flow direction is correct.
The recommended flow direction is indicated on the flow-meter housing with arrows.
If the flow direction is wrong all three wings are blinking.
The flow-meter counts backwards on reverse flow to a minimum value of 0.00.
5.2 Low Battery indication
If the battery voltage is weak the symbol Batt turns on.
If the value is critical low the symbol is blinking. In this case it is recommended to replace the
battery immediately.
Changing of battery
Replacing the battery has to be done in the power saving mode (readout “off”). In this mode all data
are stored.
Unscrew 4 srews on the backside.
Remove cover gently.
Remove old battery and put new on in.
Put cover on and look for proper fit of the sealing ring.
Tighten 4 screw so that cover and case fit together.
Don’t’t tighten screws with force!

5.3 Firmware version indication:
The version of the installed firmware can be identified by pressing and holding down the buttons
In the upper display the letter Fand a revision number is shown (e.g. F 1.05 ).
Key enters the standard mode.
5.4 Reset the flow-meter to factory settings
It is possible to reset the flow-meter to factory settings. This effects that all stored data are set to
zero. The calibration factors are set to water like liquids.
The is presetting value for the Batch Controller is set to 5 L.
For resetting the flow-meter the mode for identifying the firmware version (s. 5.3) must be entered.
Now the reset could be done with . After this the standard mode is selected.
Pressing leaves the mode without changes.
