M3000 Pairing Instructions – Nokia 3650 Mobile Phone
Before pairing the Plantronics M3000 with the Nokia 3650, please ensure both
devices are fully charged according to the instructions in the respective User
Guides.
1. Turn the Nokia 3650 phone and the Plantronics M3000 headset ON.
2. On the 3650:
a) Press the Menu key, then use the scroll keys to choose the
Connectivity menu. Press the middle of the scroll key to Select.
b) Use the scroll keys to choose the Bluetooth menu (this is
normally the menu displayed) and press the middle of the scroll
key to select.
c) Use the scroll keys to choose the choose Bluetooth Off (this is
normally the menu displayed) and press the middle of the scroll
key to select.
d) The handset will display Bluetooth On. In this menu. Bluetooth is
now be switched on in the phone.
3. On the Plantronics M3000:
a) Put the M3000 into pairing mode by press the “Volume Up” &
“Call Control” buttons simultaneously until the Indicator light
begins to flash alternate green and red. (see M3000 User
Instructions).
4. On the Nokia 3650:
a) In the Bluetooth menu, use the right scroll menu to select the
Paired devices menu
b) Press the Options key, scroll to New paired device (default) and
press Select. The phone displays Searching for audio
accessories
c) In a few moments, the phone will display all nearby Bluetooth
devices. Using scroll key, choose M3000 by Plantronics and
press the Select key.
d) Enter the 4-digit Passkey 0000 and press the OK key. The
handset will display Pairing with M3000 by Plantronics complete.
e) The M3000 will appear in the Paired device list.
Your M3000 headset is now paired with the 3650 phone.

Before connecting the headset to the phone, please do the following:
a) While in the Bluetooth menu, use the scroll keys to select Paired
Devices.
b) The display will show M3000 by … and possibly other devices.
Use the scroll key to select M3000 by … and press Options
c) Use the scroll keys to select Set as authorised. Press Select.
The display will show Connections will take place automatically without
confirmation. Continue? Press Yes.
The headset must now be connected to the phone. This can be done in 2 ways:
Using the Phone Menu
a) While in the Bluetooth, use the scroll keys to select Paired
Devices.
b) The display will show M3000 by Plant … and possibly other
devices. Use the scroll key to select M3000 by Plant … and
press Options
c) Use the scroll keys to select Connect then press Select
d) The phone will display Connecting to M3000 by plantronics, then
Connected to M3000 by plantronics.
e) Press the End Call button to return to main menu.
Using the M3000 headset
If the headset is switched off, it will be disconnect from the 3650. The headset
can be reconnected by simply pressing the headset Call Control button.

Making and Accepting Calls
To accept an in-coming call via the M3000 Headset
1. An in-coming call will cause both the phone and the headset to ring.
Note that there may be a delay of a few seconds between the phone
ringing and the headset starting to ring.
2. When you hear the ringing tone in the M3000 headset, press the “Call
Control” button to answer the call.
If you press the “Call Control” button before the headset starts to ring the
call may not be answered and an error tone will sound in the headset.
Once you hear this tone you can then press the “Call Control” button to
pick up the call.
To end a call using the M3000 Headset
The call can be ended either by pressing the “End / No” key on the 3650
or by pressing the “Call Control” button on the M3000.
To place a call using the keypad:
1. Dial the number as normal and press the “Call” key on the 3650. The
call can be ended either in the phone or by the headset – see above.
To place a call using Voice Dialing with the M3000 Headset:
NB: Before using the M3000 for voice dialling, ensure that you have
followed the instructions in the Nokia 3650 User Guide for voice dialling,
and that you have recorded the names of the contacts you wish to call via
voice dialling. Place a test call from the 3650 using voice dialling to ensure
that it is working before using the M3000 headset.
1. Press and hold the “Call Control” button on the M3000 until you hear a
beep in the headset. After a moment you will hear another beep in the
headset as a prompt for voice dialling and the phone display will show
“Speak Now”
2. State the name of the contact you wish to dial and the call will be
placed.
To place a call using Last Number redial
1. Double press the “Call Control” button in quick succession. The last
number dialled will be called.

M3000 Pairing Instructions – Nokia 6310 Mobile Phone
Before pairing the Plantronics M3000 with the Nokia 6310, please ensure both
devices are fully charged according to the instructions in the respective User
Guides.
1. Turn the Nokia 6310 phone and the Plantronics M3000 headset ON.
2. On the 6310:
a) Press “Menu” key, then use the ∧ or ∨ keys to choose the
“Bluetooth” menu.
b) Press “Select” again. Use the ∧ or ∨ keys to choose “On”.
c) Press “Select”. The handset will display “Bluetooth switched
on”. Bluetooth is now switched on in the phone.
3. On the Plantronics M3000:
a) Put the M3000 into pairing mode by press the “Volume Up” &
“Call Control” buttons simultaneously until the Indicator light
begins to flash alternate green and red. (see M3000 User
Instructions).
4. On the Nokia 6310:
a) In the “Bluetooth” menu, use the ∧ or ∨ keys to select “Search
for audio accessories”
b) In a few moments, the phone will display all nearby Bluetooth
devices. Using the ∧ or ∨ keys, choose “M3000 by Plantronics”
and press the “Select” key.
c) Enter the 4-digit Passkey 0000 and press the “OK” key. The
handset will display “Paired with M3000 by Plantronics” and
then “Connected to M3000 by Plantronics”.
d) Use the “Back” key to return to the main menu
Your M3000 headset is now paired and connected with the 6310 phone.
If the headset is switched off, it will be disconnected from the 6310. The headset
can be reconnected using the 6310 Bluetooth menu, or alternatively, by simply
pressing the Call Control button of the headset. However, a menu option must be
set on the phone. Before doing this, switch off the headset:
a) To allow the headset to connect to the phone automatically, the
phone must be configured correctly. Press Menu key, then use
the ∧or∨keys to Select the Bluetooth menu.

b) In the Bluetooth menu, use the ∧ or ∨ keys to select View Paired
Devices. Press Select.
c) The display will show M3000 by … and possibly other devices.
Select M3000 by … and press Options
d) Use the ∧ or ∨ keys to select Request conn. authorization. Press
Select.
e) The display will show Yes or No. Use the ∧ or ∨ keys to choose
No and press the Select.
f) The phone will display No authorisation required.
Return to main menu.
Switch on the M3000 headset. Press the Call Control button on the
M3000 and the headset will connect to the phone.

that it is working before using the M3000 headset.
1. Press and hold the “Call Control” button on the M3000 until you hear
a beep in the headset. After a moment you will hear another beep in
the headset as a prompt for voice dialling and the phone display will

2. State the name of the contact you wish to dial and the call will be
placed.
To place a call using Last Number redial
1. Double press the “Call Control” button in quick succession. The last
number dialled will be called.

M3000 Pairing Instructions – Sony Ericsson T68 Mobile Phone
Before pairing the Plantronics M3000 with the Sony Ericsson T68, please ensure
both devices are fully charged according to the instructions in the respective User
Guides.
1. Turn the Sony Ericsson T68 phone and the Plantronics M3000 headset ON.
2. On the T68, using the Joystick:
i. Select “Connect” and press the joystick.
ii. Scroll down to “Bluetooth” and press the joystick
iii. Scroll down to “Operation Mode”, and press the joystick
iv. Scroll down to “On” and press the joystick.
Bluetooth is now be switched on in the phone.
Note: If Bluetooth has already been activated, press the “No” Key (End Call
button).
3. On the Plantronics M3000:
i. Put the M3000 into pairing mode by press the “Volume Up” &
“Call Control” buttons simultaneously until the Indicator light
begins to flash alternate green and red. (see M3000 User
Instructions).
4. On the Sony Ericsson T68 under “Bluetooth” menu:
i. Scroll down to “Paired Devices” and press the joystick
ii. The phone will display “Add Device”. Press the joystick.
iii. Scroll to “Phone initiates” and press the joystick.
iv. Scroll to “Headset” and press the joystick.
v. The phone will display “Searching”
vi. After a few moments the phone will display all the Bluetooth
devices within range. Select the “M3000 by Plant” and press
the joystick.
vii. The phone will request the “Passkey:”. Enter 0000 using the
keypad then press the joystick. The phone will display
“Pairing” followed by “Pairing Successful”.
viii. The phone will show “Name Tag:” M3000 by Plantronics.
Press the joystick.
ix. The phone will show “Added to Paired Devices”
x. Use the “No” Key (End Call button) to return to the main
menu.
Your M3000 headset is now paired with the T68 phone.

dialling, and that you have recorded the names of the contacts you wish to
call via voice dialling. Place a test call from the T68 using voice dialling to
ensure that it is working before using the M3000 headset.
1. Press and hold the “Call Control” button on the M3000 until you hear a
beep in the headset. After a moment you will hear another beep in the
headset as a prompt for voice dialling and the phone display will show
“After the tone, say a name or command”
2. State the name of the contact you wish to dial and the call will be

M3000 Pairing Instructions – Sony Ericsson T610 Mobile Phone
Before pairing the Plantronics M3000 with the Sony Ericsson T610, please
ensure both devices are fully charged according to the instructions in the
respective User Guides.
1. Turn the Sony Ericsson T610 phone and the Plantronics M3000 headset ON.
2. On the T610, Using the upper right key “more”, scroll and select “Turn On
Bluetooth”.
Bluetooth is now be switched on in the phone.
3. Using the joystick to scroll and select the following menus: “Connectivity”,
“Bluetooth”, “My Devices”
4. On the Plantronics M3000:
i. Put the M3000 into pairing mode by press the “Volume Up” &
“Call Control” buttons simultaneously until the Indicator light
begins to flash alternate green and red. (see M3000 User
Instructions).
5. On the T610:
i. New Devices will be displayed. Select “Add” Device.
ii. In a few moments, the phone will display all nearby Bluetooth
devices. Scroll and select “M3000 by Plantronics” and press
the “Select” key.
iii. Enter the 4-digit Passkey number 0000 and press the “OK”
key.
iv. The message “M3000 By Plantronics added to My Devices”
will be temporarily displayed by the phone.
v. Pairing is complete. Return to the Main Menu.
Your M3000 headset is now paired with the T610 phone.

Known Issues
1. The T610, as released (Software Version R1A081 prgCXC125-566_EU_2
R1A081 prgCXC125-566_TAE), does NOT support low power modes whilst
using the handsfree. Therefore, the standby time with this device will be very
poor (about 10 hours, rather than 200 hours). This issue can be fixed by
returning your phone to an authorised Sony-Ericsson service centre, and is free if
your phone is under warranty.
